Hampton Inn & Suites St Augustine Vilano Beach in St. Augustine

Beautiful hotel and location. Breakfast is amazing!

This hotel was very near the beach for our children, next to a publix, and just minutes into downtown St. Augustine. The only con was that when we arrived at 1pm, we were told that we could not check-in until after 4pm. I raised a bit of a fuss and was appeased---Just take note their policy for check-in is after 3pm. Other than that would stay here […] again and recommend this hotel. Lees meer

Good hotel except - there was a system fan that came on and off over our bed. Unfortunately, there was no way for us to turn it off. The noise was intermittent, but persistent.

On a weekend excursion I was able to find this gem. The hotel was gorgeous, *immediate surrounding area not so much, but anyway.... Was located within minutes drive from anything in Saint Augustine and was still able to stay next to the ocean. The location was terrific, room was perfect, and the breakfast was equally as good. My girlfriend and I recently stayed here and enjoyed every minute of it! The room was great, and big! Balcony was amazing for watching the sunset! Pool side room looked over the gorgeous pool and lanscape. We loved the location of this hotel. Beach was practically out the door form the hotel. It was too cold for swimming but we collected alot of shells. […] At the end of the road is a pier for walking, fishing and a restaurant that is decent. Short drive to the downtown area but far enough from the craziness of people in downtown St Augustine. Will definately stay here again. Breakfast was great and was included with our room. Not on the beach

Since the buyout of this establishment it seems more expensive for less. Reggie is the last vestige of the old charm the place had, and even he has to work with the skeleton reduction of offerings for breakfast. (i.e. they used to have eggs -or they would make them how you want in the back inclusive- and bacon et al. Now they have these disgusting bread […] with egg bacon chop baked on and it is not fit to eat.) And villano brach might be served by a nice new supermarket, but having a warehouse next door is not so lovely. my husband and i just stayed 3 nites at the hampton in st agustine on valano rd. we made a good choice in picking this hotel sometime you never know what you are going to get. this one is a gem and we will go back again

Friendly courteous staff. Furniture was a little outdated but very functional. Would stay there again.

My stay at the Hampton Inn Vilano Beach was fantastic! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was I think the best part. Vilano Beach is perfect for anyone who wants to relax on their vacation, not deal with traffic and tourists. You're steps away from the beach, minutes away from the major thoroughfares and Old Town St. Augustine. Wake […] up early for the breakfast, then hit the beach before sunrise to find the good seashells before the locals do! If I had to complain about anything, it would be that my room was too close to the much traveled, fairly noisy elevator. However, the pluses easily canceled out that one negative. I would certainly rate this hotel higher than 2.5 stars and I would recommend it to anyone looking to vacation in St. Augustine. Lees meer

After checking into room, next to the elevator and breakfast area, we knew we weren't going to be happy with this room. It was early in the day on a Wednesday so I asked the front desk if we can change rooms even if I had to pay more. They instantly said no, we cannot help you, without checking anything or asking anyone else. Every minute, something […] was making a vibrating noise for 4-5 seconds. We stayed here for one night with two children, ages 5 and 7. Our goal was to see the St. Augustine historic sites and we really wanted to stay in a hotel downtown but everything was booked. This hotel is about a 10 minute drive from the downtown historic district. You can take a cab for about $5 or so, or you can drive and park downtown for about $8 […] - $10, or buy a trolley pass which will pick you up right at the hotel. The hotel staff were very accomodating and friendly, but I have to say that Regge (sp?), the man who took care of the breakfast buffet was THE BEST! He was really friendly, talked to everyone and my husband and I watched in amazement as he kept everything full, hot and fresh at the buffet - and the place was packed with people!! He did a fantastic job!! The food was pretty good too. Make your own waffles, sausage, egg/cheese/bacon on a bagel and all sorts of the usual buffet food. They have free popcorn in the lobby as well as punch and cookies in the evening. The beach is right there. You can walk in less than 2 minutes or you can take your car onto that particular beach. The rooms were pretty average, nothing special but they were clean and had everything we need. The lobby is very nice. The view from the back of the hotel is a little odd, there are a few sketchy looking buildings, but nothing that was concerning. Basically just a little bit of an eyesore behind the building. We got a good rate through hotels.com and feel it was a pretty good stay overall. I would recommend it - it's not the Casa Monica but it is comfortable, clean, has nice employees and offers a decent buffet. Lees meer

The hotel is right on the beach and the entire are is being rebuilt. We had a great stay the island is so quite at night and you can just take a very short walk on the beach. The staff was very nice and took very good care of us. We will visit again.

I read many reviews of this hotel before booking and there were some negatives as always. I honestly think that some people just need something to complain about because we did not experience any of these negatives. One person wrote that the rooms were crowded. Our group had 2 rooms and they were both plenty spacious. Everything was impeccably clean […] and updated. We LOVED the pillows and the beds were very comfy. The air conditioning worked perfect and was nice and quiet. The complimentary breakfast was excellent and offered a very nice variety including eggs and meat. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The pool was clean and the landscaping was very attractive. The building itself was quite attractive. The location was very nice... a short shuttle ride to the historic section which the hotel provided for free. And the hotel is right next to the beach! And the price for all of this was VERY reasonable. Highly recommend. Lees meer

Had a nice stay. Hotel is easy to get to, good staff, excellent free breakfast. Not much in walking distance except for beach. Easy ride to all of St. Augustine and needed highways.

This hotel was better than i expected. The room was large and clean, the breakfast a real plus. Location is great ..two minutes from the beach. A quick cheap cab ride into town.

My weekend away was wonderful!!!!!!! Just what I needed!!!

The area is lovely and the beach is nice and clean. I enjoyed the food and the tourist attractions and the shopping. i would love to revisit and stay at the hotel, the cost is a little pricey though I wish the hotel could buy the property behind the garden and tear it down it was a bit of an eyesore. That being said the front desk attended to my husband's […] concerns and gave us a front room that from the balcony would could view the beach. The hotel's breakfast meals were very good and the eating area very clean.I wish I could have taken the beach,the bed, and housekeeping home with me!!! Lees meer

The hotel's location is ideal if you want to be walking distance to the beach and 5-10 minute driving distance to San Agustine's historical sites. There is some development going on near the hotel but it is not a detriment to the beach view/walks.

We stayed in this hotel for a couple nights after being in Orlando to really unwind. The location is fantastic, directly across from the beach. The kids and I loved the pool, and it is surrounded by such great plants and gardens which make it such a nice place to relax. The rooms were nice, especially the small kitchen with fridge and microwave. The […] only thing I would say is that the beds and pillows were not the most comfortable, I had a little trouble sleeping. Breakfast was great, plenty of variety and having coffee and hot chocolate available the rest of the day was a nice treat along with cookies in the afternoon. There aren't really any places to eat close by(walking distance), but a short five minute drive and you're downtown with plenty of good choices. Overall we had a great time, thank you to the staff and we would definitely stay at the Hampton Inn Vilano Beach again. Lees meer

The hotel itself was very nice and well kept. The neighborhood was a disaster! I hope that the neighborhood improves as it's like a disaster zone.

I had literally researched every hotel in the St Augustine area with my focus on being as close to the historic district as possible but wanting a newer more up to date hotel. This hotel was only a $8 cab ride down to the historic district and was very easy to get to and from via car. The hotel was even nicer and classier than I had expected and the […] breakfast was excellent. For the money, this is one of the best values I have seen. Will definately stay here again. Lees meer

The hotel was very clean and the staff was very pleasant. Breakfast was excellent. The room was a little bit on the worn and tired side with a very uncomfortable matress. The room was very clean, however. I think it was a little overpriced.

I stayed here for the first time, and was completely satisfied from check in to check-out. Friendly staff, a great continental breakfast, and most importantly clean rooms and facilities. Will definitely be going back.

The Hotel was very nice. The morning breakfast was the best. It was very quite at night and very close to the beach. Overall, the place was great and we had a wonderful time. The only thing I didnt like was The bathroom vent didnt work which most dont and you could here next room toilet flushing. Since we didnt stay in the room that much I could live […] with it. My husband I couldn't believe what a beautfil hotel this was. The staff were friendly and helpful, the complimentary breakfast was delicious with many different offerings, and the hotel was immaculate! The location is perfect with only a few steps from both the small Vilano beach as well as from the Vilano pier. They had our reservation and room ready. We reserved the basic room and it was very clean, beautfully decorated and ready for us when we arrived. Spcious enough for a couple or for four witht he pull out sofa. Only a short drive from down town St Augustine and walking distance to the beach.
