Een prima hotel op een toplokatie!

We waren in Apex City maar mochten alle facilteiten van de naastliggende Apex International gebruiken. Restaurant Heights is fabulous. Hotel is well insulated against noise from other guests and traffic outside. Great beds, rooms wel furnished even although everything is a bit dated. Bathroom not great, only one tiny sink for the two of us and no shaving […] mirror, also quite dark!! But great bath! Bar and restaurant food fantastic and not too expensive. Staff exceptionally friendly everywhere. Kids eat for free! and are taken seriously! there's loads for kids to do and a great swimming pool too. I just loved this hotel, they made us feel so welcome. APEX hotel Edinburgh, 61 Grassmarket, is een prima hotel. De service is goed. Het ontbijt is prima, maar wel wat aan de dure kant. De kamer waar wij verbleven was netjes en voldeed aan alle verwachtingen. De parkeerplaats is erg krap en als de auto verkeerd staat (zoals de mijne) dan loop je het risico dat de duiven er van alles op achterlaten. De stad […] is dichtbij, op loopafstand. hotel is walking distance to everywhere, ideal location. breakfasts are well worth the extra price, rooms are well appointed, beds are very comfortable. agua restaurant was excellent, good range of good food. will use again without a doubt.

Love staying at this hotel, rooms are fantastic and spacious, lovely shower and bath. Just across the grassmarket to the bars and restaurants. Reception staff very helpful. Can't fault this hotel.

Location is great! Very convenient to Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. Several restaurants right across the street from the hotel. Hotel itself is clean and neat, but basic/no frills. Magda at front desk was VERY nice and helpful.

I've been to nicer 4 star hotels however the location is very central. We booked room only and found the price for breakfast very expensive (£13.50 pp) so we ate at some local cafe's instead.

Good location with car parking nearby and short (uphill) walk to castle and good choice of restaurants. Comfortable room, welcoming staff. Breakfast expensive but there are plenty of good cafes nearby offering breakfast at half the price.

perfect hotel, perfect location

The location is the highlight of this hotel, our room had a lovely view of the castle, the hotel is modern and comfortable. However the big downfall for me was cleanliness or lack of it. The mattress protector was dirty on our bed, there was a strong smell of fake tan in our bed and neither I nor my husband wear fake tan, When I complained to staff […] they changed the mattress protector and the bottom sheet but failed to change the rest of the linen so the smell of fake tan lingered on for our second night. loved this hotel, very clean and comfy, Rooms size was small for a supierior roombut truly was big enough, tv was great, shower and bath :-) Room services was great very help full staff Breakfast wasnt great and was very very expensive!

This hotel was clean and well maintained. It needed a few updates and the shower pressure wasn't great but the staff were very friendly and it met our needs. It's located on the Grassmarket and I thought it was the best place to stay in Edinburgh -- it's so close to everything!

Good price (low season) & nice, clean simple accommodation. Hotel staff were very helpful. Great location.

Fantastic view of the castle the staff like the hotel are excellent . I would recommend this hotel for a luxury break in this city .

Apex City Hotel Edinburgh was a pleasant surprise. The hotel is well located is the area of Grassmarket, which is a short (slightly hilly) walk from the main down-town area of Edinburgh. Would definitely recommend this area as there are a number of nice pubs and breakfast cafés across the street, and the hotel is in very close proximity to the castle, […] scotch whiskey experience and other attractions. Good gotel and a competitive rate. Situated in a nice area convenient to pubs and restaurants. About 15 minutes walk from Princes Street the main shopping area. Breakfast was a bit disappointing so would recommend not paying for breakfast but eating out. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Excellent hotel: spacious room (200 sq ft), modern furnishings, free internet & PCs, 5 minutes walk from No. 35 bus stop to/from airport, in heart of Grassmarket, many restaurants of all cuisines, walking distance from Princes, Georges, Royal Mile. Great full scottish breakfast, friendly staff. Lighting could be improved: halogens over bed shine on […] middle of bed -- if moved towards headboard, would be ideal for reading; in bath/r, lights are not good for shaving, illuminate top of head rather than bottom of chin. Excellent location where you are in easy walking access to all of the city. Staff at hotel are friendly and always willing to assist. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Would recommend others to stay here.

Four Norwegian guys had a great time in Edinburgh in this hotel. Perfect location for Night life and good dining. 5 minutes walk to georg street, princes st. and which is the best shopping area. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful old houses in the Grassmarket area. The hotel staff was very helpful with booking restaurants and recommending places. […] The drain in the shower was a bit clogged, which is the only reason I didn't give full score for cleaning. Breakfast was decent, but the selection wasn't very good. I can recommend Hula, which is an organic smoothie bar for breakfast. They have other stuff as well. Reasonably priced and very good food. Stayed here recently, loved this hotel. Everything was perfect in the hotel, staff were friendly, rooms were beautiful, close to most of the sights around. Would recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable place slightly away from the busier centre.

Apex City Hotel Edinburgh is in an excellent location - right next to the Royal Mile with a view of the castle. There is even a bus stop located steps outside the hotel for hopping on a tour or local bus. There was plenty of food and shopping options located nearby. The room itself was small - but very nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and the […] room had everything we needed for our two night stay. There is a restaurant located in the hotel that was very good. If you are on a budget I would recommend ordering room services vs. visiting the restaurant - the room service menu had twice the options and was half the price. No clocks in the rooms...we over-slept alot... Not so bad considering the comfort of the beds.

Ideally situated in the heart of the Grassmarket and near to the Royal Mile etc. Lovely modern, clean rooms - would 100% recommend this hotel!

I know you supplied ear plugs!!!!!!!!!!! but boy was that a uncomfortable night, so for that reason I would not recommend your hotel

Friendly helpful staff. Convenient location easy walking distance to Castle, Royal Mile. Good bar food. Great breakfast. Pool, sauna in sister hotel a few doors down.

Modern & confortable; walking distance from all the city's major attractions. Very large & practical bathroom with seperate shower & bath. Bed is ultra confortable. Only one down side: no AC

Great location, close to all the bars, restaurants, short walk to Royal Mile. We asked for a castle view and we got it! Very clean room, great service and tasty breakfast with a full Scottish breakfast with Haggis. Very well recommended for couples.

We really enjoyed our stay, very comfortable room and very central to all attractions. Staff were efficient and friendly, and really helpful in making bookings at local attractions for us. I would recommend the hotel to any of my friends.

This hotel is a real find in terms of quality, price and location. We stayed for one night before moving to more expensive hotel the next night due to a late arrival but could easily have stayed for the entier stay.

This hotel is located close to all the major attractions in Edinburgh and is really good value for money. The only thing that could be further improved would ventilation. It would be great if it was possible to open the windows or if air con would have been available.

Overall the hotel provided comfort and style but the pillows in the bedroom are ridiculously soft and provide no support whatsover. Also, the hotel restaurant is nice but tries too hard - especially at breakfast where portions are small and food is provided in unnecessary ramekins

The only thing I found uncomfortable in this hotel was that the public areas of the hotel, i.e.corridors, sitting areas, were far too hot for myself and my husband. Able to control the tempereature in our room, so no problem there. Otherwise a very nice hotel, very near the castle and the main shopping areas of Edinburgh. The hotel was very clean, tidy and modern. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was nice and very good value for money. I would stay at this hotel again.
