Hotel ziet er zeer goed uit van een afstand plaatjes van kamers ook Helaas kregn we een veel kleinere kamer als op plaatjes weergegeven De parkeergelegen bij het hotel, kwam er op neer dat we 300 meter moesten lopen om de auto in een prima parkeergarage te plaatsen die weer extra 24 dollar per dag kostte.

This is a very noisy hotel - it was as though the people in the surrounding rooms were right in the same room (could hear conversations at normal volume, showers, alarms, phones, etc.) Rooms are in okay condition, but very small.

I had read many review in regards to this hotel before booking in regards to the manager T. I do not know who these people are but boy were the wrong Theo was kind, courteous and extremlly professional towards us as both a hotel manager and a host. The beware part mind you deals exclussevelly with the cleaning staff, one morning after having stayed […] on the third night I dropped something at the side of the bed, it slightly rolled under as i reached a little under I accidently grabbed a condom, I would hate to see what else they may have missed under there. Also on three different occasion we had to go downstairs for bathroom supplies (two rolls of T.P. and one roll of the body soap bag for the shower) B.T.W. clean the inside of these as the mold is starting to thicken up. You get what you pay for. If you're used to hostels, this would be okay for you. Not very secure - they let delivery people walk up to the hotel rooms. Price is okay, cheap for San Fran. Very very noisy!

We would have loved to have had this hotel for our entire stay in San Francisco. Unfortuantely it was only available for a portion of our trip. A small lack of a few conveniences. No fridge, a shower instead of a tub shower combo. A bit tight on space and a ice machine that costs a quarter for a limited amount. Travelers always have these over expectations of what hotels should offer. If your looking for a clean, cheap hotel in the heart of San Francisco, no frills, without outrageous expectations, you will enjoy this hotel. The hotel is clean, although old, very typical of San Francisco (which to be honest is a part of a true San Francisco experience because […] the buildings and architecture is AMAZING!). Our room was small and simple, 2 twin beds, small closet, dresser and a desk. The bathroom was quite large, considering with a small shower (which I had to duck a little to get my head under the shower head... I'm 5"7'... But gets the job done). The beds were clean, nice linens, slightly firm, but just how I like it. We had a great view of Pine stree and the financial district from our 5th floor room. The staff was amazing! Very helpful, courteous and polite. Location of the hotel is just blocks from union square and right on the doorstep of china town. I can't stress enough with the cost of some of the hotels in union square (and staying in the city about 10 times, ive had much experience) this hotel is 100% worth it. Stayed in the standard double room for four nights. At first was disappointed with the bad ventilation in the room and could not open the window fully. But the hotel staff was kind enough to provide us with a fan. Problem solved. The bed was extremely comfy and the toilet clean and working well. Resemable cost for location. Parking for hotel is a little bit of a walk from hotel Rooms are dated but functional. Good hotel if you go anywherr into the financial district or china town.

Housekeeping service was good. Place is clean. No bed bugs (I checked for them first). Price is reasonable. Walls are thin and so is the noise from rooms above. But if you need a clean room with little amenities I recommend this.

If you are considering downtown SF, stay at Grant Plaza. I've been coming here 4 times over the past two years and I am very happy with my stay everytime. It is a great location and not overpriced! The walls are thin enough to hear your neighbor's conversation. And every step you take can be heard. And if you use the faucet or the shower, everyone will know. Still, it's not bad for the price. Price and location were right, room was clean, had free wifi. Shower didn't have hot water either morning, bed and pillows were not very comfortable, TV had 10 channels. You get what you pay for.

Grant Plaza is a must stay for someone who is wanting to be centrally located without paying an arm and a leg for the convenience. The hotel is a clean, basic hotel with amicable staff. We used only public transportation starting at the airport. It is also easy access to the hotel. The City Pass worked really well for us.

This hotel is in the perfect location if you want the experience of China Town and the convience of Union Square. The hotel is clean, and the staff friendly. The rooms are small, but offer what anyone would need for their stay. I would definately stay in this hotel again, and recommend it to anyone looking for a great location to enjoy China Town.

Despite a good location and knowing that you do get what you pay for, this hotel is sadly old and outdated, badly in need of an upgrade. Our room was very tiny - maybe 120 sq ft (not counting the bathroom) - and although the bedding was clean to start with, the flooring, walls and fixtures were worn to the point of no repair. The bathroom was provided […] with very thin towels, many of which had holes in them, and barely had room to move in. There was inadequate space to leave toiletry bags in the room nor any place to put clothes while getting showered. It was very noisy in our room and we heard every creak and flush during our 4-night stay. The phone didn't appear to work for long-distance calls either. The pictures provided on-line and in the local guide books don't reflect what we had. They said the hotel had been recently renovated, but we're not sure about how "recent" it was and where the renos took place - certainly not in our room. Overall, disappointing. Lees meer

If you want a fairly clean and modest hotel room as your "home base" while in San Francisco, this is it! Our room was small, but clean and on the interior of the building which made it quiet but a little dark. We had maid service every day giving us fresh towels and making the bed and she did her best to clean around our piles. The front desk staff […] was very friendly and helpful with questions and we lived by the map they gave us when we checked in. Then, the minute you step out the door, you can go anywhere in SF! You are one block from the gate of Chinatown and a few blocks from the Ferry Building. We are real walkers , so from the hotel we walked to Fisherman's Wharf (on the way back walked all the way up to Coit's Tower), Pier 39, through North Beach and to Haight Ashbury---over 3 days, not on the same day. If we wanted we could have jumped on a cable car near any of these places. This is NOT the Hilton and you have to pay for ice (just a quarter for a half bucket), but you are in a great spot to visit any part of SF you want quickly and easily. Lees meer

If you like Chinatown, then boy this is the hotel you got to stay in. The front desk guys are super friendly and helpful. The location is GREAT. It is right by the entrance of Chinatown, 5 min walk to city transportation and about 10 minutes from Market Street. BUT!!!! make sure you ask for a room facing the street. All the other rooms faces this weird […] atrium of concert and other rooms. If you open your windows, you can literally throw stuff into other guests rooms. Street view is better. I would stay there again. The desk clerks were friendly and helpful. There was a place store luggage before check-in and after check-out. Very handy for a travel schedule. Very handy to Chinatown and the general donwtown shopping/theater district. Buses within a very short distance, one block or so.

Location in Chinatown was okay (can walk to The House of Nan King). Bed springs left marks on my back, mold in bathroom and windows was disturbing. Noise level in the hall was high, but the drunk guy with no shoes in the elevator was comic relief for an otherwise embarrassing cheap hotel booking in a city I've never been to.
