prima ligging. Aan de rand van echte centrum in zakendistrict. 5 min lopen van metro station, 1 a 2 haltes tot in stads centrum. Zeer ruim appartement met 2 slaapkamer, 2 badkamers en 1 woonkamer/keuken.

De kamer was netjes, wij sliepen met 4 personen in de familiekamer. 2 volwassenen en 2 kinderen (13 en 16 jaar). De kamer was niet groot, maar voor ons geen probleem omdat we vroeg weg waren en laat thuis. De knop van de wc was kapot, we hebben dit gemeld en toen we s'avonds terug kwamen was deze al gemaakt. Ontbijt was prima. Naar het centrum is +/- 10 min met de bus (opstap vlakbij hotel), daarna met de metro +/- 10 min. Echt goed te doen. Het personeel was zeer behulpzaam. Kortom een prima hotel voor een weekendje Londen.
Ligging.
Sofitel London St James bevindt zich in Londen, dicht bij Her Majesty's Theater, Trafalgar Square en Buckingham Palace. In de buurt liggen ook Big Ben en Piccadilly Circus.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
Sofitel London St James heeft een volledig uitgeruste spa, een healthclub en een turks stoombad. In openbare ruimtes is een gratis snelle internetverbinding (draadloos en via kabel) beschikbaar. De zakelijke voorzieningen bij deze 5-sterrenaccommodatie zijn onder andere een businesscentrum, vergaderruimtes en een limousine- of autoservice. Dit hotel in luxe stijl biedt diverse eetgelegenheden, zoals een restaurant en een bar/lounge. Het personeel kan op verzoek een huwelijksservice, een cateringdienst voor evenementen en vertaalservices regelen. Sofitel London St James heeft 186 kamers met airconditioning die zijn voorzien van iPod-dockingstations en een cd-speler. Een kussenkeuzemenu is beschikbaar. Gasten hebben gratis (draadloos) breedband internet op de kamer. Elke kamer heeft een lcd-televisie met kanalen via de kabel, betaalfilms en een internetverbinding via tv (toeslag). My daughter and I spent 3 lovely days in this hotel and were thrilled with our choice. The location was excellent for the two shows we attended... The Phantom of the Opera is on the same block and it took no time to walk back from The Royal Opera House. The delights of Trafalgar Sq., Whitehall, Buckingham Palace and lovely shopping areas are on the […] doorstep. "Exceptional Experience"
The hotel staff has brought customer service to a new level which I have never experienced in my many years of travel. When was the last time you checked in to a hotel and the staff tells you to sit on a plush sofa while they bring your tropical juices and check you in while discussing all the surrounding attractions. All this followed by the front […] desk staff escorting you to your room and going over all the amenities. The location is perfectly situated so that in a short walk you can be in Soho, Buckingham palace, Big Ben or the eye. If you are interested in the afternoon tea, you ca expect to be soothed by a spectacular harpist who plays a beautiful melody to accompony your snack. All this and I have not yet touched on the spa, the chanpagne tasting bar or the Cocoa Channell inspired bar! Suffice it to say that my wife and I were completely blown away with the level of the property, service and overall friendliness of the staff. I rate this property the highest of the high. Lees meer

"Excellent location and service"
Quick check-in process. No noise during night hours despite of the location. Close to use Piccadilly line directly from Heathrow. Visiting the Hotel bar for a drink before going out a good alternative. However a bit slow making up the room in the evening but I guess this was a minor slip? the staff is amazing, such willingness to help in any subject is excellent. Room was a bit small to our taste yet included all that is required. Theroom view was bad overlooking the back yard of he Hotel. the location is amazing, just between the Palace, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Square - we simly walked everywhere we needed.

this hotel is in absolutely the best part of London - St. James/Mayfair, right on the edge of St. James and Green Park, a very short walk (5 minutes) to Oxford Street, Regent Street, Bond Street, surrounded by the finest art galleries (National Portrait, Royal Academy). Having done a lot of travelling and staying in top class hotels, I found the Sofitel St James was perfect for our 5 days in London. Great location about 200 metres from Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus and very close to the best shopping on Regent and Oxford Streets. St James Park, Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park are an easy walk with Westminster […] Abbey also very close. Together with the best bed out of all hotel beds, very friendly and accommodating staff, i would recommend the Sofitel to everyone travelling to London - paying a bit more is well worth it. Lees meer

"Outstanding Hotel but not cheap"
Our expectations of London hotels were previously very low indeed. However, this one turned out to be by far the best hotel of all that we stayed in during our European holiday. The price, like most London hotels, was high but this one delivered on quality. Highly recommended if you can afford it.

"Top Quality Hotel"
The Sofitel London St. James was an excellent home base in London. The location was great, near Buckingham Palace and a few blocks from Piccadilly Circus and its underground station. The rooms were large enough, not vast but comfortable, and the quality of furnishings and finishes were merely a step below Four Seasons/Ritz Carlton. The service was outstanding. […] Don't ask me how the front desk staff remembers your name each time you approach, but many of them did. Housekeeping was unobtrusive, thorough and prompt. The breakfast dining staff fell over themselves, very professional, to make sure we were happy. I wish I could remember the cost, but I don't. I recall that it's not cheap, but less expensive than many alternatives. Even so, if the price fits your budget, I highly recommend the Sofitel. Great stay! Lees meer

"Sofitel in London - Pretty much what you'd expect"
Only in for one night. Hotel was immaculate, comfortable, clean, etc. It's a five star hotel. Shocker. I would like to make special mention of the fruit served with my breakfast. I don't know where it came from, but it was absolutely perfect. Like so good I'm going to have a hard time eating other fruit.

We stayed at the Sofitel London St. James the weekend of the Royal wedding (timing just worked out that way after a 2 week cruise). The hotel was fabulous. From the moment we arrived we felt like VIPs. The customer service was phenomenal. The manager, front desk staff, bell staff and bar staff all made us feel extra special and went out of their way […] to make sure we were well taken care of. Some local friends of ours met us at the bar for pre-dinner drinks and commented on the excelent service. The room was a good size and quiet. Their was a bit of a mixup with our room. This was brought to the attention of the Asst. FO Mananger who promptly corrected thhe mistake and when he found out it was our 20th anniverary provided us with a excellent complimentary bottle of bubbly. The location was great the hotel was immaculate and the service was terrific. the concierge was very helpful […] with his recomendation and securing a reservation at a top sea food restaurent . We stayed in the Sofitel St James for 3 nights. We had asked for a quiet room which we got and the doors are the quietest in any hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff are all delightful, and Louise in the bar was particularly friendly and helpful. The spa and the gym are both good. The expresso machine in your room on request is a realy nice touch. I was without my husband visiting a business friend. As soon as I entered my room, I said I couldn't wait to come back with my husband. The staff was super...the room was luxurious....any help needed was there....and the gym was SUPER!! Didn't get to use the spa, but it was gorgeous and I hope the next time! Extremely quiet and luxuriously comfortable! […] If anywhere in your price range, I HIGHLY recommend!!!! I thoroughly recomend this hotel- it exceeded our expectations in every way. Location was great very close to Regent St, Oxford St and all the shows.
