Best Western Plus Airport Inn & Suites in Oakland

Above average hotel, nice clean and accomodated our need to change our room location - would stay again - great breakfast and attentive staff.

Not a vacation destination...but worked fine for a quick break between flights.

Room cleaning virtually non-existent. I mentioned to front desk that the bathroom door was coated in some dirty sticky substance, but no noticeable effort was made to clean it. Excellent service, and excellent pick-up at car rental, drop off at airport, and Coliseum Bart station. Nice breakfast.

Overall OK stay. The hotels.com website said there was an in-room safe, but there wasn't one in the room. Good place to stay if you have an early flight out of Oakland. It was also very quiet during the stay--definite bonus.

Very pleasant and extremely helpful staff. Hotel was clean and very close to airport. Shuttle service was top notch. Would definitely stay there again if visiting Oakland.

King suite was wonderful. Only complaint was that there is not enough parking spaces for all rooms.

We arrive at the hotel at about midnight, and are greeted by a panhandler hanging out in front of the hotel. Upon not getting any money from us, he resumes digging through the trash next to the front door. Check-in was fast, the staff friendly. The room key did not work, so I had to go back for another. It turned out that they had put us in a room […] that was already occupied. We'd been trying to break into someone else's room at midnight. They had no other rooms with two beds, so my entire family had to sleep in one bed. The shower was broken, some of the lights didn't work, and the breakfast was pretty gross. I won't be coming back. For the price it was ok...had requested a roll away but found out at check in none available due to fire codes. Called out for pizza as find't seem to be in an area you would want to walk in.

The rooms are very spacious and clean. This is hotel is really nice considering the neighborhood it is located in. I wouldnt recommend walking around anywhere outside the hotel however the hotel in itself is really comfortable and I would definately stay again.

The staff was very friendly and the rooms were very clean; like new.

Great place to stay if you are going to a game. Within walking distance to several places but would not recommend walking in the neighborhood at night alone. Great breakfast!

I went on a Thursday night and stayed one day. I went to see a sport event. The location was convenient about a five minute drive. We needed a bed, so I found the stay worth it. I was hesitant because previous post mentioned the hotel being in a bad location. It is very near the airport. I did not hear any airplane noise, and didn't find the location […] scary. The hotel was fine, but it is not visible from the main road into the airport which is usually the case.

What you expect from Bestwestern. Breakfast a bit cramped and disorganized - you might expect better choices at this price

fast check in, never ending breakfast, friendly shuttle, big rooms, nice indoor pool, very welcoming.

Very nice hotel, very nice room, good service, but the surrounding area was not nice. Ok during the day time, a little scary at night. Parking lot was well lit, and there was security.

This hotel was perfect for an early morning flight. Being just 3 minutes from the airport with a 24/7 shuttle service meant that we could get an extra hour of sleep.

Very convenient to the airport; accommodating staff for pick up at BART and at rental car location. Hot breakfast is excellent. Rooms are spacious. Great value.

Clean facility, friendly staff, & comp. breakfast, but inconveniently located if you don't have a car. Good for an overnight stay w/shuttle service. No restaurants, delis, etc. w/in walking distance.

I always use hotels.com for all my travels. People at the hotel where nice but holy cow was that the worst area ever. I felt I was going to get shot every night. I hope hotels.com does a better job in scouting hotel locations next time.

The location of the hotel is not the best but wouldn't have been even noted if I had driven in or rented a car. They compensate well with the shuttle service, but it's not within walking distance to anything. The condition of the hotel is great as was the cleanliness. The hotel is located in an industrial area and it sits in between to manufacturing businesses therefore you were not able to sleep in because you could hear their forklifts. Also there was no ventilation system in the bathroom therefore there was mold on the ceiling over the shower. The breakfast was ok except the waffles kept sticking to the waffle […] iron and they didn't want to put any non-stick spray on it and the scrambled eggs must have been made with powdered egg mix because they were hard. Needless to say I would never stay there again or would I recommend it to anyone. Lees meer

The room was comfy. Everything was clean except for the remote which was sticky and had Gross brown stains that indicated whoever cleaned it probably didn't do a full sweep. Other than that the breakfast was horrible which kind of sucked because I was there on business and thought I could save time by getting some work done at the hotel before leaving, […] but the eggs looked like they'd been recycled! The hotel was clean, staff was very nice, shuttle to the Oakland Coliseum was perfect. Thank you and we will definitely stay there again.

Stayed here while on a last minute business trip. I chose it because of the rate and its proximity to the Oakland airport. The free breakfast was quite nice all things considered (cereal, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, pastries, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, bread, bagels, waffles and fruit in the breakfast buffet). The room was spacious and comfortable and […] clean. The pillows were soooo comfy! I really appreciated that b/c I often have a very difficult time sleeping in hotels. The only real down side is the neighborhood. Mostly industrial. And it was really hard to find the hotel--there's a Hegenberger Drive, Hegenberger Loop and Hegenberger Court or some such thing. It was really confusing. There is a Starbucks nearby and a Walmart. Not many other places to eat that I could see. It's not far from the stadium where the Oakland A's play. Just a block away from the 880 freeway so getting around is easy. If I was making the same trip for the same purpose again, I would probably stay there again. For a thrifty traveler, I think it's a decent option. Lees meer

This hotel was immaculate and modern but in a dreadful neighborhood. Walking around was not recommended but the hotel was happy to drop people off to the BART (or airport) and pick up as well. The station is right next to Oakland Coliseum which is why we were there. It was a fairly good value as it included full breakfast and free parking though the […] spa was broken. I suppose if you are driving a lot or traveling with BART this is a great choice. Lees meer

The room was a suite with a comfortable couch, refrigerator and microwave. The shuttle was very happy to run you to local restaurants and back. Good choice at an excellent price.

Becareful! Tthis hotel is in a VERY BAD neighborhood. When we pulled up, there was glass on the ground where a car was broken into. I reported the broken glass to the front desk, but it was still there when I left in the morning. I could not sleep and just could not wait to get out of there. I will never stay there again. I want to feel safe.

A large store and strip mall with restaurants is nearby. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fresh and area kept tidy.

I'm not a fan of the area surrounding the Oakland Airport. That being said, this hotel is a nice little spot inside all the not nice parts of Oakland. If you need an airport hotel (I travel for business and often leave very early in the morning), this should be your hotel. They offer breakfast and they will even pick you up at the rental car offices […] if you'd rather drop your car off the night before and bring you back to the hotel so you can take the shuttle to the airport for your morning flight (for those visitors to CA). To me, this is huge as it saves time and precious hours of sleep. Rooms are comfortable and the fridge/microwave is nice as well. Lees meer

The hotel was close to the airport, which was the main concern for this trip. We had a 6:55 am departure, which meant getting up very early. The hotel had a breakfast bar - included in the price of our room, however it didn't open until 6 am, too late for us to get breakfast due to our flight. Some hotels offer to go bags if you let them know ahead. […] I called the front desk to inquire the evening before our departure and was very rudely told no - there was no way to get a breakfast bag - period.
