This is an older hotel. It is clean and in decent repair. Very good value for the money

This was a sight seeing trip and the hotel was in a good location for what we needed. I found the room tidy but the carpet and furniture was stained and very worn. The overall stay was good the staff were very pleasant to us and friendly.If there is a complaint it is in the breakfast room. They are trying to make it better. Still has tons of work. My water heater never worked. House keeper not a clean person she did horrible.

WOW! Here is what happened: I called the front desk to get a roll-away cot and asked if it was an additional cost. I was told "no additional cost". Great. The following evening our keys didn't work so inquired why. Was told by the same clerk that the owner said that it would be an additional $20 for the cot and to cancel the keys to make sure they got […] paid. She said that she wanted to call me back the night we got the cot to let me know that there was indeed a charge. She said that the owner told her not to inform me saying "that's not the way we do things here". I have stayed there many times before and always had the sense that they were doing things on the cheap. Such as not having insulated coffee cups or customary condiments...just little things. I would rather pay more and get customary service. If "that's not the way we do things here" is the continuing motto, then I will not be staying there again. Lees meer

Do not stay here. We felt like we were in a hotel that a bunch of college kids were living in. The security of the room was unsafe...my husband could open the door without a key from the outside!!! My daughter went to take a shower that same evening that we got there and the bathroom was very unclean. We ordered pizza and pop and when it arrived we […] found that there were two cups in the room so we went to the office which they closed we still rang the bell and asked for cups to which they told us that we would have to wait until morning. I did not expect to make such a sudden stop into Spearfish. But luck had it that this hotel was around and its staff were real friendly. Filled with a variety of restaurants to eat spacious rooms. def a place to stop fpr the night.

This is an older hotel that has been remodeled on the outside to look fairly presentable. While the room appeared clean, there was an urine odor.

While there it snowed, motel did not or would not clean off sidewalks, drive way, nothing. We had to dig ourselves out of room and driveway, it took us and a few other motel guests over six hours to shovel drive way ECT. in order to get out of motel parking and driveway, Hot water sometimes worked and sometimes did not, rooms were cleaned sometimes […] and if they were it was very poor, we had to haul our own trash out. we stayed here 6 days and it was terrible. most of the time no one was even working at office, doors were locked. we thought travel lodge was going to be ok, first time staying at travel lodge and will be last time. hotel doesn't look bad but the service was poor and the bed needs to be replaced. Maid service was slow and you can hear all the neighbors' tvs, showers etc.

Non smoking room smelled of smoke. They have a checkbox on the registration card informing you that if you smoke in the room, you will be charged $150. I called the front desk to let them know about the odor and the cord on the phone came out. Broken cord clip. Asian lady at the front desk a bit hard to communicate with. She said they didn't have another […] room on the ground floor to move us to. I decided to stay in the room if they put an ozone machine in the room the next day. When we returned from dinner, I noticed that about 10 square feet of carpet was soaking wet near the bathroom. I went to the desk to report and they moved me to another ground floor room. (I guess they did have one.) The new room was better, no smoke odor. Reasonably clean other than the shower pan. (yuck!) When I went to bed, I noticed that there was no screen on the window and that there was no way to lock the window from inside. I reported it to the desk the next day and they took care of it. Not a horrible place to stay, but I would only choose to stay there based on price. Lees meer

we booked this hotel so that are kids would be abeal to git out and swim and the pool was under constuction, no note win booked, the room could use a very good cleaning.

The rooms where alright, small, but alright. Pillows were horrible and it felt like I was going to fall off the beds. They are doing some remodeling so it should be better after that. It freaked me out that the maids had flee remover on the cleaning carts. The free breakfast was bad. To be honest though the customer service was great and friendly.
