Bedford Hotel in New York

Hotel Bedford ligt centraal, dicht bij grand central station, time square (10 min lopen), metro stations zijn allemaal op loopafstand. Het hotel is schoon, king size bed ligt heerlijk, koelkast en magnetron op de kamer. Minpunten zijn; wij hadden uitzicht op een muur op 2 m afstand, temperatuur in de kamer kun je niet zelf regelen, en de verwarming […] maakt VEEL geluid, als het te warm is zet je een raam open maar dan stinkt vervolgens heel je kamer naar het eten van de straat en restaurant wat ernaast ligt. Kamers zijn ook erg gehorig. We hebben er een goed verblijf gehad, we sliepen schoon en zacht en douchte lekker. In principe waren we niet veel aanwezig in het hotel als je toch constant eropuit bent, maar voor de luxe hoef je het niet te doen. The Bedford Hotel is just round the corner from Grand Central so a great location for us this weekend. The hotel itself is dated and worn but the room and linens were all clean. We stayed in an apartment with a separate bedroom and a fold out sofa bed in the lounge. The lounge included a fridge, hot plate and coffee maker. My second stay at the Bedford, for a business trip - I thought the first stay might have been a fluke, but again I was in a suite with a bedroom, bathroom, large living room and little kitchenette - all for less than the cost of a 3-star hotel in midotwn. Great for business travellers or families who prize space to spread out over having gorgeous hallways […] or lots of other hotel-style amenities. Currently my default selection for NY business trips. Location is great within 5 minutes of Grand Central Station but room was filthy. Would never recommend based purely on cleanliness. Stains all over the couch and chairs. Was told room sleeps 5 but only 2 singles and 2 pull outs. Very disappointed!!!!

I've stayed at the Bedford Hotel twice now for business purposes. I like it's convenient location to Grand Central station for getting around the city easily via subway and to venture over to Times Square. Overall, the rooms are clean and there isn't too much street noise since it's on 40th between Lexington and Park. The beds need upgrading -- not […] awful but not very comfortable either. Nice, attentive, staff - I only stayed one night, but the small kitchen makes it great for longer stays.

Only a stone's throw from Grand Central, but there was no way to regulate the heat except to open a window to offset it. There were window units for A/C so a warm weather stay might work well.

We took this hotel in an emergency, and found to our surprise it was excellent, and at a great price. Clean, comfortable, friendly and having a lot more amenities in the room than we ever would have expected. We're staying there again.

This hotel is located two blocks from the subway at Grand Central Station. It is conveniently located, clean, comfortable, and had a kitchen sink and stove. It is nice, though nothing fancy. The front desk staff was very helpful.

Superb setting and service befitting any event or purpose. Friendly and easy to work.

While, for me, the location is great (my office is across the street), the Bedford is an average NYC lower middle-market hotel. The decor is in need of a serious upgrade, and all of the appointments in my room (1401) were ventage 1990. Reasonably clean. Nice people. But realize that, like most things in life, you get what you pay for.

This is a very convenient hotel for Grand Central and connections to local sights and bus transfer from the airport. My only criticism would be that on arrival (after a 14+ hour journey to get to the hotel) we were not given the room we had requested - the room had given it to somebody else for the night - and we could not unpack our things - or relax […] on the first night as we had to move into the our requested room the following day (with very little apology from the person on reception). Recently stayed here for two nights in a one bedroom suite. Was declined four beds by the management even if the room was booked for four. Decent size clean room for four, but very very old furniture. Needs major renovation everywhere. The lobby looks especially sketchy, not welcoming at all. There was also a permanent unpleasant smell in the bathroom, […] possibly coming from restaurants downstairs. Lees meer

I paid for a suite that held five people tell me why it only had one washcloth stocked? Then the lights kept flicking on and off. Oh the icing on the cake was no flat screen tv as advertised that's what I said people no flat screens and the bed was very hard. And it had a stale odor.defenitly never staying in the hotel again..for ten dollars more I […] cuda went to where I knew it was gonna be rite. Lees meer

Our double room was large, clean and comfortable and all the staff at the hotel were friendly and very helpful. My only minor complaint would be the noise of the air conditioning unit in the room. We also enjoyed a few evening meals at the Italian restaurant Fagiolini's next door to the hotel. Enjoyed the location and the price.

Great location but a little run down..not the most comfortable beds but service was good..

while clean and convenient, my room looked out upon an airshaft (not atypical of rooms available to hotels,com users) and the air conditioning was sub-standard. Depressing stay to be sure.

I was looking for something afforable, and well-located, and the Hotel Bedford meets those criteria. That said, the condition of the property, and the atmosphere, are decidely downscale. This property needs a major overhaul.

Booked this as it was on offer at Hotels.com. It was clean and functional and staff were helpful. It was just around the corner from Grand Central station and subway. Times Square was 10-15 minutes easy walk. Empire State Building was about the same. Arrived 3 hours before check-in time but were given a room straight away. Had booked a family suite […] described as 2 queen beds and a sofa bed but had 1 queen bed and 2 sofa beds so had to request a further fold-away bed to sleep all 5 of us. Sorted without problem and the suite was big enough to take it. After check out hotels tagged and stored our bags to allow us a further 6 hours bag free around the city prior to our late evening flight Lees meer

I was not expecting twin beds to even be an option.

We booked the room for 5 on the internet, the hotel was great about letting us leave our luggage both when we arrived before our room was ready and again when we checked out before we needed to go to the airport. Our room was suppose to be a king family with kitchenette, we had 2 twin beds and 2 very dirty uncomfortable twins sofa pull outs, we had […] to have a cot sent up and extra blankets, pillows and towels..Most of the springs on the cot were broken. All of the bedding was not comfortable. There was no room to put luggage, clothes, toiletries, etc. When we expressed this to hotel desk they said sorry that's the room you booked and we have no other rooms for you. Lees meer

Our stay at Bedford Hotel was very comfortable. It is a quiet and clean hotel with many quaint features. The staff was very kind and helpful. It was within walking distance to the Empire State Building plus one block away from Grand Central Station which made it quite easy to get around.

This hotel is okay. The rooms are large but the beds are uncomfortable and the rooms are shabby. The neighborhood is nice and the people at the reception desk were very friendly. Room service was good but they were out of many things and for one dessert they sent something different and didn't even tell us they were out. When we called to tell them […] about the mistake they sent a different choice up for us immediately and didn't charge us. We booked this hotel because of the kitchenette, as we are travelling with a baby and we were staying in NYC for 1 week. When we arrived, we were directed to a tiny room without kitchenette. This hotel seems to have been taken over by the staff or the unions. Dirty dishes were left in the sink for days on end and the management say it is becaquse the unions do not allow staff to clean the dishes. Staff take over the lifts and agressivel tell customers "this is a service elevator" at inconvenient times when large school groups are trying […] to use the. Overall, the convenience of the staff seems to be given priority over that of guests. The "complementary WIFI" is so weak it drops out regularly and never gets above "low" on the strength of signal. Conveniently located within walking distance of Grand Central Station. Courteous staff. Spacious suites although furnishing are well worn and carpets smelled slightly of animals. The check in process was fine, our room was ready and we found it quiet and clean. The hotel is located very near Grand Central Station and we felt comfortable walking after dark. One warning, be sure you have everything you need printed complete before staying at this hotel, there is no business center available for guests. The Bedford Hotel is a find in NYC. This hotel is clean, has great service, is in a nice area and is reasonably priced. We will definitely stay at the Bedford Hotel on a return trip to NYC.

Helpful employees, close to where I needed to be, and an ok price

Check in was okay, but room was kinda skeevie.......the room layout was nice and big for my family however, the couch was nasty and dirty with spots and rips on it and the bathroom and bed were okay, but there was unknown fluids on the wall that were above our beds that looked like gross and nasty. Obviously they dont tell you this when your booking […] so we had to deal with it. The room was so hot thought and we had to call at 2:00 am to have them turn it down for us. The view was nice and the location was fabulous, and a great price. Cant be beat, if its simply a quick sleep for one night like us, it got the job done.....we had fun anyways. Lees meer

a lovely hotel in the heart of Manhattan with friendly, helpful staff and clean and comfortable rooms! Close to many attractions and super easy access to Grand Central Station. We wouldn't hesitate to book again!

Within easy walking distance to Grand Central Station, 5th Ave. shopping, East River strolling, and even a great Italian restaurant attached. The bed was comfortable, the room spacious for NY. Only problem was an odd situation with the sink faucet set, which moved back and forth, but it worked!
