Inn at Northrup Station in Portland

The hotel was whimsical and fun. The staff were friendly, available and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The decor made it feel more like a suite then a hotel room. With the street car stop right out front and the free tickets from the hotel it was easy and fun to travel the city. We will definitely be returning.

I always stay at Inn @ Northrup Station. The hotel has its very distinct character down to the elevator sign! The area is very attractive being a stone throw away from 23rd street in Portland. Staff is very pleasant, breakfast and snaks are great, rooms are spacious and inviting, and ambiance and decore is very distinct without being presumptuous.

Great, funky hotel within walking distance to dowtown and some very nice neighborhoods - The Pearl, 23rd. St. shops, etc. Friendly staff, good breakfast, large room. Loved the fun decor & cheerful staff. Our king suite had a fully stocked kitchen & the bed was super comfy. Will be great for a romantic getaway.

My wife and I stayed here a couple nights, and liked it a lot. We would definitely stay here again. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, and had a colorful, quirky style. The location is great, in a quiet, upscale neighborhood (lots of good restaurants nearby), and a short walk to the Pearl or downtown. Very charming. The staff is knowledgable about the area & extremely helpful. Lots to see in the area & a wide variety of restaurants within walking distance.

So nice that I'm staying again next week for 3 days.

The Inn at Northrup Station was a true find, discovered through reviews on TripAdvisor. The hotel is unpretentious (except maybe in its hip decor) but comfortable and friendly. All the rooms are suites with a sitting area, desk, and full kitchen, decorated in bright colors with local art. Nice touches are the recycle bins in each room, bungie cord office […] chair, a Keurig coffee maker (though the Tully coffee was underwhelming), fresh fruit and yogurt available at all hours, glass art in the dining area, a wine reception on Wednesdays with 2 free pours, etc. Breakfast was not hot, with the exception of make-you-own-waffles, but there were hard boiled eggs, a selection of cereals including a gluten free cereral and granola, bagels, and a variety of yogurts. The staff is super friendly. The hotel is on a streetcar line and you can get free tickets from the front desk. One does hear the tram go by, but in the back rooms it is a mere generalized rumble, not anything too disturbing. We didn't check out the upper level patio as it was raining throughout our stay but it looked inviting. Parking is free. There are two restaurants just across the street: the Wildwood, which is a hip bar and eatery with some excellent, creative dishes and a happy hour from 5 - 6:30 at which drinks and appetizers are half price, and a Moroccan restaurant that serves an inexpensive, fixed price, 5 course menu. Just a couple of blocks away is a whole slew of restaurants. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay and would like to return some day. Lees meer

Loved this hotel for the mere fact that it was beautifully unique. They have Keurig coffee makers too! My only complaint, or observation should I say, is that the walls are not really soundproof and you can hear vacuums/showers etc. However, we sleep with ear plugs so at night that didn't bother us. I will definately stay here again.

Had a wonderful stay here! Located right next to a stop for the street car, which will transport you to most of the sites in the downtown area. Walking distance to local shops which are open during the day, and a couple of bars that are open at night. For a night out on the town, would recommend that you take a trip downtown though. This was a really fun place to stay on a girls weekend getaway. It is located within easy walking distance to many different shops, restaurants, and bars. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the little kitchen was well stocked. We would definitely stay there again!

We like the Inn at Northrup Station because it's next to good restaurants and bars in northwest Portland, adjacent to a station for a streetcar that we take to Powell's Books and downtown Portland, and because it's a clean and comfortable place to stay with a friendly and helpful staff. We left our rental car parked most of the time during our two visits. […] The Inn is next door to Paley's Place, a top-flight restaurant, across the street from Marrakesh, a good Middle Eastern restaurant, and around the corner from blocks full of restaurants and bars on NW 21st Street. The Lucky Labrador brewery and restaurant is three blocks away, and we took the streetcar downtown to the Portland Art Museum and a good lunch at the Deschutes brewery. The Inn itself has kind of a '60s decor with bright colors, tiki torches out front, and no pretensions. Our rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. The free breakfast is the standard bagel/waffle/cereal offering but it's free. Staff members were great about helping us locate restaurants and breweries we wanted to visit. Lees meer

Very large, nice room with full kitchen. Bed was super comfortable. Great location with access to trolley system. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Did not spoil our visit.. Great quiet place. Not boring like all other places. Right on public transportation.. great !

We have stayed here often as this hotel is in the area of our son and family. We are always so comfortable and the staff is you welcoming. This is the first time we booked with hotel.com and saved a few $$. Highly recommend this hotel as they are on the route of the Portland streetcar and really makes a stay in Portland special.

had never ben to portland -- what a great city -- and picked this from the pictures online -- it was a beautiful room -- lovely colors and furnishings -- the breakfast was nice -- you won't b e disappointed with this cheery hotel!

This place was everything we were looking for and more. Free tickets on public transport, walkable to a slew of delicious restaurants and bars, a local coffee shop directly next door...and that's before you factor in the hotel itself. The staff was very friendly, the rooms are enormous and comfortable. We used the fridge and cooktop to reheat leftovers […] a few times. The decor is quirky, funky, and very fun. Fresh fruit, coffee, hot chocolate, and tea are available 24 hours a day for free along with gobs of salt water taffy. They have fun events throughout the week like wine and cheese socials. The Inn at Northrup Station is the best hotel we have stayed. The decor was exciting, the room was large and so comfortable. Breakfast was more than enough, with plenty of healthy varieties of offerrings. I will stay here again, and hightly recommend it to anyone coming to Portland. Restaurants and shopping are in easy walking distance.

As in any big city, downtown Portland hotels have limited and expensive parking. The Inn at Northrup Station has plenty of free parking and provides free tickets for the streetcar that stops right in front and takes you to/from downtown in 15-20 minutes. There are lots of restaurants and shopping on 21st and 23rd a short walk away. The room itself was spacious and modern. All the decor was bright and fun. I love this all-suite hotel. The mid-century decor deliberately evokes the Jetsons with vibrant colors, the bed & furniture is super comfortable, and it's 2 blocks from NW 23rd St. All good

This hotel was wonderful. The King Size Bed was so comfortable I didn't want to go home to mine, and I thought mine was great. The room had a full kitchen which made it nice if you wanted to cook, however there are so many restaurants close by you really didn't need to. Also, the room was decorated so nicely that you could stay in it all day. It was […] located in the Pearl District of Portland which is a fun shopping district and you could ride thetrolley or bus to anywhere in the city. Just a wonderful experience, a great staff, a continental breakfast as good as any I have had anywhere. You should stay here when in Portland! For business or pleasure you would be very satisfied. very eclectic decor but fabulous room and very helpful staff. breakfast was good and it was very nice to get the free streetcar tickets...nice touch! I would definitely go back there when I'm back in Portland again.

I had a wonderful stay at The Inn last week, it was exactly the situation I wanted. A nicely appointed hotel: clean, quiet and the quirky colors and decor an entertaining plus! "The Jetsons" indeed! The streetcar a fabulous convenience, wonderful food and interesting shops within walking distance. Breakfast buffet yummy with many choices, GOOD COFFEE! […] I was entertaining a friend from California and think we both have a great opinion of Portland after our stay. The people at the desk were unfailingly pleasant and helpful - I plan to stay again and have already recommended The Inn at Northrup Station to several people. Inn at Northrup Station is a good place for a family get together in Portland.

Well this hotel is okay, some of the people at the front desk were great and some were smartelic and plain rude. The neighborhood is nice. The rooms are smaller than they appear in the photos. I woke up with a sore back or neck every day so I will say the bed and pillows were pretty sub-par. It is a good hotel for families because of the kitchenette. […] I was told we would have a balcony and received a non-balcony room which was upsetting. Overall if you have a family and are visiting Portland your choices are slim, this is a pretty good pick in comparison to other locations with kitchens and pricing. Lees meer

We spent one night at the Inn at Northrup Station. The room was great! It wasn't like the typical hotel room. The furniture was really modern looking and everything was really decorated nicely. Our room had a kitchenette, supplied with everything we needed. It was one of those places that we took pictures of before we unpacked! A free Portland Streetcar pass is available from the front desk. Also great is the free on-site parking. Add to all that, the breakfast buffet is abundant and in a brightly-decorated eating area. The room had a kitchen (with stove, oven, full-size refrigerator, microwaveoven and all necessary cooking pans, plates, flatware, glasses, cups, etc.)

Think of a wonderful suites hotel crossed with the Jetsons. Love it. It's on the streetcar line and 2 blocks from a great shopping & dining area. The kitchen in each suite is great for people like me who always do coffee & breakfast (and maybe lunch or a light dinner) in their hotel rooms. We loved our stay. The Inn @ Northrup station is a funky/ fun decor, very conviently located with lots of places to eat nearby. The free daily streetcar pass was a big plus and we made good use of that. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. It deserves a 5+ rating.

I love this hotel, stay here whenever I'm in town, and recommend it to everyone. The mid-century decor is wonderful and I love having a kitchen.

My husband and I drove from the central coast in California not only were we exhausted from a 14 hour drive but excited to explore Portland. We were pleased to stay at a hotel that was not only a great location but clean and friendly! The staff was constantly cleaning and there was always great beverages and snacks. We will defiantly be back!

Great location to access great restaurants and shops in NW Portland. Easy access to streetcar service for a quick ride downtown.

A modern hotel just off the streetcar route to downtown Portland. Excellent neighborhood with LOTS of eating and shopping options AND free parking!! If you like bright, mod colors and furniture you will like this hotel.

We've stayed here about four times in the past year. We like having a full service kitchen, with a brightly colored, funky interior design. Who picked the colors? But they work. The breakfast is satisfying and the parking is free. Love how we can go out the front door and step on to the trolley, taking us through the downtown without stress.

We were in Ptld. for surgery at nearby Hospital. Only 2 blocks away. We really enjoyed our room. We were booked on bottom floor. Colors in the rooms, as well as Check In were bold and fun loving. You can't help but smile! Most of the Hotel staff was friendly. Found Management working at desk were cold and to the point. Kids running up and down hallway […] and we could hear each word our neighbors were saying. So I would say Hotel is noisy. I would have loved an upper floor. We will return when we can go and play! I will recommend to friends too. Love the little kitchen...what a bonus. 2 AWESOME TVs. Bring your own pillows. BED pillows are small and there is only 3 for a comfortable king size bed. Lees meer
