Quality Inn Downtown Convention Center in Portland

The hotel was in the middle of a re-model so there was a lot of construction during the day, it should be finished by the time you read this. Close to the convention center and easy access on public transport to the airport. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms well kept, well sized and clean. Breakfast each day was good. Nothing too fancy just a fair hotel really close to the convention center and transport. Good breakfast, nice staff, good sized rooms.

For the low price I got, I expected not to have it be in a four star hotel, but with the construction it was okay. I booked it so my daughter could swim she got in and got out. Also I went and got a room deodirizer because it just smelled old and I could not stand the smell. All in all it was okay for the price, the ambiance not so much.

Hotel is in the middle of renovation-lots of construction "stuff" you had to avoid walking into- front check-in was a desk in the middle of paint cans, etc! close to restaurants-kind of 'scary' walking back afterdark!

Not too bad but undergoing alterations at the moment which makes checking in slow. Should spend some money on better linen. The bottom sheet did not fit the matress.

A good night stay.had a pool too. Good rooms and good beds to might be a little soft other then that. It was a very good hotel. Nice little breakfast waffles make your own,biscuit and grey, cerel muffins and beverages.

Nice motel and very convenient to the convention center where we were going. we walked to the convention center and it was about 2 blocks from the motel. They had a very good breakfast and the food was great. We will stay there again.

Specified that the hotel had a spacious gym and good equipment but it was closed and under going remodel. Site said the Pool was open 24 hours, yet it was not. Had no towels in our room, asked the front desk if we can get towels and his response was "Im sorry we don't have any, you can get them in the morning after 0730 from one of the maids". He said […] "only the maids have towels, not the front desk". Terrible customer service, extremely rude and disrespectful. Our room was not clean well and had food on the ground from the previous guest. The breakfast included was not the best but still had some decent stuff. Actually, the only nice hotel staff was the gentleman that worked the breakfast. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. It is a waste of money and you will regret your stay. I spoke to the manager before we left and told him about our stay (no towels, dirty room, no gym, pool hours and terrible customer service) and all he had to say was "well we must have forgot to update our information on our hotel. Our gym is under construction and our pool closes at 1100pm". How is this good managing? false advertising a gym and its not even open yet. Falsely advertising a 24 hour pool and it closes at 11pm. Then having an employee tell me I can not shower at night and can not be given towels until after 730am when the maids arrive. Lees meer

This hotel is as good or better than you'd expect for the price. Friendly staff. Rooms nothing special but clean. Beds comfortable. Next to Max stop. Overall, this hotel was a good deal compared to the price of neighboring hotels. Spend the money you save on things that are more more fun for the family.

...the king bed was way too soft. I was better off sleeping on the floor

This place was a mess. The only thing it has going for it is that the beds are comfortable. Otherwise, forget it. Went down with my daughter and 2 teenage friends... Did not feel comfortable at all. Smelly, dirty, and extremely run down.

The running water into the bathtub wouldn't stop when you pulled the lever for the shower. Tons of water was wasted. I'm sure it was just a slight maintenance issue. Overall the stay was very enjoyable. The bed mattresses were extraordinarily soft. I prefer hard mattresses, but that's just me. A comfortable stay at a fair price.

The hotel was nice enough but I was expecting slightly nicer amenities since it is so close to the Convention Center. Breakfast service was good, cleaning service was good, general service and friendliness of staff was good.

We chose this hotel because of price,it's dog friendliness, and the indoor pool for our young daughter's entertainment. We used the pool the first day, and then it was closed down for the remaining 2 days of our stay...frustrating! Also the carpet in the room seemed as though it had not been vacuumed in a very long time. Was expecting La Quinta, where I've stayed many times before, and was surprised when I arrived and it wasn't La Quinta anymore. Was pleasantly surprised. Smelled clean, possibly replaced carpets? Definitely an improvement.

Overall this hotel was great price and for being so convenient to public transportation. The rail from the airport stops just a block or two away. Rooms and hotel were clean. Only problem we had was that we discovered that our room door did not lock from outside but the problem was fixed immediately after we told management of the problem. Nothing fancy, but this place was perfect for us. It is cheap, clean, close to everything, and we could bring out dog. It doesn't look great and is certainly not new, but we were pleasantly surprised with our room. The bed was comfy and the room was not cramped, with lots of room for our dog to stretch and walk around. We found out upon arrival and check in that this property was purchased and was no longer LaQuinta. Fortunately for us, we reserved through Hotels.com and our reservation was recorded and honored without issue. Other guests were extremely annoyed when notified that many reservations made through LaQuinta directly were not transferred and much discord […] was evident as we quietly went to our room - THANK YOU HOTELS.COM!! Hopefully HOTELS.COM will continue to offer this property under it's new ownersship (Quality Inn ... ). It is awesome in convenience to this area - parking, breakfast and oh so comfy beds! Lees meer

We couldn't believe how nice this hotel was, especially for the price! Near the Lloyd Center, right next to public transportation (free zone!), restaurants nearby. Loved the full breakfast with make-your-own waffles, and the staff went out of their way to take care of us! Also, the parking was free. We'll definitely stay here again!

There were several restaurants and fast food locations in the area to choose from, some right next door. Being pet frienly was a big plus since I was travelling with two small dogs. They even gave you doggie treats, and poop and scoop bags on check in. I have stayed at other places where they charge up to twenty dollars per/night, per/dog and you get […] nothing! Lees meer

We always stay in this hotel when we're in Portland. The location is great (two block walk to the Max station and bus stops across the street), free Wi-Fi, free parking, coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator, and a breakfast. Staying here really saves you loads of money. It's clean enough. It could use some remodelling, but all in all, it's the best deal […] we've found. The staff have always been very nice. we had next door neighbors scream and yell constantly at 3 clock in the morning. when we complained to the front desk about the noise they said " we can;t do anything about it unless it's a safety issue.' Judge for yourself if you want to stay at this place. the indoor pool was nice though

Hotel had free parking, free breakfast, and an indoor pool without a hot tub. For the price, it was a great deal. Now with that price came some draw backs. Old hotel, needs remodeling pretty bad. The TV didn't work. The bed was comfortable king sized pillow top king with a duvet cover on the duvet which is nice for cleanliness reasons.
