We hadden een kamer met uitzicht op de tropische tuin, prachtig. Kamer van alle gemakken voorzien. Wel veel problemen gehad bij het inchecken: men vroeg om onze creditcard als borg voor eventuele uitgaven die wij tijdens ons verblijf zouden maken. Onze card werkte echter niet en dat werd als een (abnormaal) groot probleem gezien; ondanks dat wij aanboden om tot 500 dollar cash te 'betalen'; men wilde ons zelfs in 1e instantie als gast weigeren, terwijl het hotel natuurlijk al via hotels.com betaald was. Zeer onaangenaam en men ging pas meewerken nadat we erg hebben opgespeeld; uiteindelijk 100 dollar borg betaald. Geen leuk begin van een verder overigens prima verblijf daar.

Prima locatie om van daaruit San Diego te ontdekken. Naar o.a. de Zoo, het Balbaopark en ophaaladres van huurauto gebracht en opgehaald met shuttledienst van het hotel, ideaal. Schone kamer, van alle gemakken voorzien. Redelijk ontbijt met plastic bordjes en bestek.

Het hotel ligt midden in het uitgaansgebied; veel restaurants in de omgeving en ook de winkelstraat is om de hoek. De bediening is gastvrij en zeer vriendelijk. Het ontbijt is echter simpel, maar dat schijnt in Amerika normaal te zijn. Kortom: als je op zoek bent naar een centraal gelegen hotel met alle gewenste voorzieningen in de buurt en ruime kamers, dan ben je bij Gaslamp Plaza suites op het juiste adres!

Hip trendy. Wifi in hal beneden is gratis. Op kamer voor 24 uur vijftien dollar. Vind ik wel veel. Hotel is eigentijds. Drankjes aan de bar vrij prijzig. Hotel is Veel minder stijf en goedkoper dan het Hyatt. Wel werd er volop gebouwd en was dakterras niet open. Parkeren kan met valet parking (vijfendertig dollar per dag) of rondom hotel. Wel goed kijken of je goed staat ivm schoonmaken van de straat. Wij hadden boete van zestig dollar ivm neus van de auto de verkeerde kant op staan.
Ligging.
Bahia Resort Hotel ligt aan een privéstrand in San Diego, dicht bij Belmont Park, Mission Beach en Ocean Beach Park. In de buurt vind je ook Seaworld en Mission Bay Park.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
Slenter met je blote voeten over het zandstrand en voel de zon heerlijk op je gezicht schijnen. Relax op het strand om aan je kleur te werken met voorzieningen als gratis strandhuisjes en ligstoelen. Na een dag op het strand kan je bij Bahia Resort Hotel van voorzieningen als een buitenzwembad, onoverdekte tennisbanen en een jachthaven genieten.
Gasten kunnen in het plaatselijke restaurant van een heerlijk diner genieten. Draadloos internet is gratis beschikbaar in openbare ruimtes. Andere voorzieningen bij dit hotel met 3,5 sterren zijn onder andere een healthclub, een fitnesscentrum en een spabad. Parkeren op locatie is gratis.

Bij warm weer is het enorm druk in het water bij Mission Beach en Pacific Beach, twee van de populairste stranden van San Diego. Op deze relaxte plekken worden af en toe boerenmarkten en kunstfestivals georganiseerd. Mission Boulevard verbindt de stranden met elkaar en loopt noordwaarts, richting La Jolla.

"Nice Enough"
I was hoping for a little more of a resort feeling and didn't get the room that I had expected. Was placed in the tower which was ok. A little outdated but the experience was nice enough. I had been hoping for a little bit more given the price but we had a solid enjoyable stay. The cleaning staff was great and very thoughtful too.

My friends and I had a wonderful experience at Bahia. We arrived to San Diego early but check-in is at 4 PM. We went to the hotel to see if by chance we could check in early. We were told all rooms were currently occupied but stated they would call me if a room opened up sooner. Sure enough, an hour later, I received a call from the hotel stating that […] a room was open. It was St. Patrick's day weekend, so all hotels were extremely busy. Even though it was busy, the receptionist at the front desk Cindy, was able to handle my situation very smoothly. "Mixed feelings"
While customer service was execellence during our stayed, the housekeeping is another story; there was a used wash cloth that hung over the shower rail. It felt on my shoulder when I pulled the shower curt back. It caused me to question the quality of housekeeping. The Bahia is an old (1940) resort so it explains the old deco, funiture, bedding etc. […] That said, the price, the localtion and the customer svc were execellence for the price. Lees meer
"Bahia Resort - Beautiful Setting"
Beautiful, romantic setting right on Mission Bay. Excellent views across the water. Rooms are serviceable, a bit dated, but comfortable. Nice to have a refrigerator. Big flat screen TV if that matters. Soundproofing is excellent. There was a bachelor party next door and had we not been told, we wouldn't have known.

Appeared to be a very recent modern renovation. The room and bathroom was a little small, but that didn't bother me. It might be tight if you're sharing it for more than a day or two. The glass door in the back provided a beautiful view of the garden, as long as you don't mind the curtains open. The room smelled very strongly of new carpet and building […] materials, and unfortunately the sliding door is the only source of fresh air. It made me a little uneasy sleeping on the ground floor with the door open, but it was either that or a perpetual headache. Overall, a really cool place in a great location, so if you're not as sensitive to these things as I am, I'd certainly recommend it. Maybe I'll come back after a year or two. Lees meer

"Bahia Hotet Resort in San Diego"
Overall the hotel was very nice. We had a great location, bay front and awesome. The only issue we had was the bathroom sink clogging up, not good but, other than that we had a great time there and would recommend it, will go back again too.

If you like the surf this resort is great because it is in a short walking distance to Pacific Beach/Mission Beach/Mission bay and all thinkable opportunities for water action. The room we had was OK but for the price that was expected. They staff did not supply coffee for more than 1 day and there is no breakfast which is a minus. We couldn't wait to return to the Bahia. We had such an incredible time when we stayed 3 weeks ago that we couldn't wait to stay again. Great food and staff! Such an amazing deal, can't wait to stay again!

"We liked it!"
My husband I thought for the price it was nice. We were upgraded when we arrived. The free boat rides, the rescued seals and food at the bar were a nice plus we weren't expecting. We would stay there again in a heart beat!
"Great View, comfy bed & helpful staff"
We had a marina view and our balcony was large with two comfy lounge chairs! The free internet made it extra nice to sit outside with the great view and read emails! Bed was clean and comfortable. The bathroom vanity was too small ( no place to keep your toiletries) but very clean. The front desk was very helpful and gave us an extra parking pass for […] one night as we had an extra car. "Bahia Resort- Great location, standard hotel"
You get what you pay for here. The rooms are pretty standard. The location is GREAT. This was our 3rd time staying in San Diego and Bahia resort was our favorite over a hotel on the shore of mission bay and a hotel in Gaslamp. The parking was free, however, there is no continental breakfast. The fitness center was below average. The pool and jacuzzi […] were very well kept. The front desk was kinda slow and our room wasn't ready at check-in. 2 days in a row our conditioner/shampoo/ tissues were not replenished but those were just minor minor issues. Overall, I would stay here again for a place to rest my head at the end of a full day exploring San Diego. You really can't beat the price and location. Lees meer

Everything was very nice. They upgrated our room to a larger suite with a kitchen at no additional charge. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was just a short (enjoyable) walk down to Mission Beach. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to others!

The Tangiers Bar was a great feature as were the walks along the Bay.The nearest beach area is not great and the food in closest restaurants is terrible unless you like tacos.The limo driver to the airport was a great source of local knowledge.For a long stay-over a week-I recommend a few days here and a few days in a downtown hotel.

Great location. Very spacious rooms. We rented a one bedroom with living and small kitchen. Everything was walking distance. Beach on bay just behind our room. Gorgeous view of boats and bay. Rentals of every kind were on site or short walking distance to mission beach. Restaurant on site and room service. Very family oriented. We had a great time and […] would stay again! Seaworld was minutes away! Loved it! We own a time share and this was comparable to a one bedroom with pull out and roll away beds available. Great value. We booked on line and got a great bargain! I got the Bay View Studio with Kitchen, but very disappointed. first of all it smell like cigarette, just like my grampa's truck. 45 minutes into our stay my wife wanted to take a hot shower but with no hot water available. We called front desk and received a maintenance worker 30 minutes later, he couldn't fix the issue because he needed the plummer […] to adjust the boiler temp setting. He said the plummer sets the temp setting for the whole building but wouldn't be available till next day. Well my satisfaction came when I was comp for the inconvenience, the front desk was very prompt and offer me to look at three available rooms and gave me the privileged to choose whichever one. Ended up getting the garden suite, pretty much newer then the others very nice didn't smell at all. would stay here again but wouldn't recommend the bay view studio w/ kitchen. Lees meer

"Great for a family vacation"
We had a bay view suite with great views. The room was clean, it was convenient to have a fridge in the room and a little bit of extra space. I wouldn't necessarily stay here for a romantic getaway but for a trip to Sea World and the Zoo it was great. There is also a little swing set on the beach out in front and a great park across the street!

i booked this room expecting a decently modern room as shown by the pictures on their profile and reservation page. The room we received was nothing like the pictures. For one it was very old decor and the view of of the water (which we paid extra for) was mostly blocked by 2 big palm trees. The room looked like a room from the early 90's. The bay view from our balcony was like a picture post card. The housekeeping service for our room was great. The staff were courteous and professional. The grounds were well-maintained and secure.

Stayed at Bahia hotel resort in December so could not really use any of the seaside facilities. It is a large, comfortable, clean and tidy hotel but with no specific character or standing out service, decor, etc. Nonetheless the staff were very friendly. There was an abundance of construction going on that detracted from our stay. However, the view was gorgeous and the beds and pillows were extremely comfortable :)
Very noisy during the day as the rooms next to ours were being renovated. We weren't aware of this fact until we were already booked in. Our room and bathroom had been nicely updated but the beds were old and uncomfortable. The shower sprung a leak the first time we turned it on. There was also no hair dryer in the room. "Beautiful"
I stayed in this hotel the night before and the night of my wedding. The suite was great and made for wonderful photos. Loved the open parking and convenience.

Our room was dark, mildewed and small. There is a major remodeling/refurbishing going on and we arrived too late to request a change. When queried how can you rent such a room to people, the staff cited their repeat business and successful banquet operations. Beautiful hotel, convienient location right by Mission Beach. A little messy due to construction, but never affected our visit. Definitely would recommend to others.
"A Horrible Experience"
The hotel was in a great location, but if you want to sleep this is not the place to stay. They hosted a loud college party on our last night at the hotel. It was so loud and they said there was nothing they could do about it. We basically paid for a night that we were not able to sleep at all. The staff was rude and not helpful at all. The Bahia Resort Hotel on Mission Bay was wonderful. The room had recently been renovated and by the looks of the parking lot they are updating the waterfront rooms. The beds were clean and comfortable and the staff were very nice. I will definitely stay here again.
