"Knickerbocker in Milwaukee- Great location, rates"
A short walk to Brady st, Milwaukee's best strip for bars and entertainment. Also close to Lake MI, Art Museum and other attractions. The restaurant/bar on the main floor if very nice as well, with a nice brunch on Sunday. Enjoyed the stay immensely!
"Knickerbocker"
We have stayed at the Knickerbocker On The Lake several times because of it's great location and charm. This last visit was very disappointing because the queen size bed we had was in such bad shape. Most the damage was in the middle of the mattress so 2 people in the bed ended up smashed together. Needless to say, we had a miserable night with very […] little sleep and now both of our backs ache. When we checked out I told the clerk about the mattress and it was her response that really frustrated us. She actually laughed and than said something stupid about "sleeping on a bad mattress just makes for a cozier night". Really?? That was the best we got from her....not even an apology. Never mind that we have been good customers. We will now go across the street to the Astor. Lees meer

If you are staying here make sure to have the brunch, it was great and sitting outdoors was an added bonus.

I love this old Milwaukee standby. Rooms with kitchenettes, hotel retains the feel of the 1950's like a trip back in time. Great hip and popular restaurant with outdoor seating. Two minutes from Lake Michigan, art museum. Reasonable prices. I'd consider spending a summer living there. Bed and pillows very comfy and I'm a stickler for this.

"Wonderful Comfortable Rooms"
Rooms are not luxurious, but they are spacious and lovely. Very quaint. Great safe neighborhood. Helpful staff. Not really walking distance to bars/clubs, but a short $6 cab ride. Would definitely stay again! Very cute. Our room also came with a kitchen!
Very happy with everything except the bathroom. The entire bathroom needed a good scrubbing including all corners & replacement of moldy shower liner. Larry & the Africo-American lady at the front desl were wonderful. Full of knowledge and so very helpful.
"Close to the lake in Milwaukee"
Built in 1929 and completed in 1933, the hotel is filled with history. It's changed over the years to keep up with the times while keeping the old world charm. Had a lovely room, well appointed. It even had a large dressing room--popular in the victorian age. Tucked behind closet doors was a compact kitchen outfitted with all the essentials. "Nice stay"
I travel to Milwaukee often. I stayed at the Knickerbocker as my regular hotels were all booked up this week and the location looked nice. I was very pleasantly surprised by service and quality of the room. Everything was done well and was quite charming. It is certainly not your normal chain hotel. "The Knick on the Lake"
We could not believe we were a stones throw from Lake Michigan! We could walk to everything, did not need a car. Enjoyed all the surrounding restaurants and local entertainment establishments. It was a wonderful diamond in the rough!!
"Great Spot!"
We recently attended a wedding at the Woman's Club of Wisconsin which is only a few blocks from the Knickerbocker Hotel. We were delighted with our stay here after the wedding reception and enjoyed an excellent breakfast at The Knick on Sunday morning. We will be back!
"The Knick is not the place to stay!"
Although the lobby at the Knickerbocker seemed to be of 5 star quality, the rest of the hotel was not. The room had a huge carpet stain, and it felt dirty from the second we entered. I have never even seen plumbing as outdated as the room had, and there are absolutely no amenities. One package of mediocre coffee to use in a dirty coffee pot was about […] the best that we received. Hotel staff was rude and unaccommodating. We had a great time in the city, but would never stay here again. It was a complete rip off! By the way.....they charge you to park at their hotel too! $10 a night. You would think that for what you are paying for a room that they could include a place to park! Lees meer
"KNICKERBOCKER ON THE LAKE"
We read really bad reviews but we really like the room. The room we got was spacious and really pretty nice. Our friend across the hall was nervous and said his room smelled like beef. Ours was great and fairly inexpensive. The hotel bar/restaurant was good, a bit spendy but lots of variety and very good menu. I will roll the dice with the Knick again […] next time I visit Mil. "Value"
it does the trick; in a great neighborhood at a decent price. however, amenities are limited and the showers leave something to be desired!

"Carpet was very stained"
Not bad for the price and the location was OK, they do charge extra for parking which you will want to do otherwise parking on the street is hard to find. The crapet was extremely stained in a number of locations.

"Caution: Things don't seem as they appear"
This want to be historic hotel didn't deliver much for my money. I stayed with my girlfriend on 7/3 to take in Summerfest and the lakefront fireworks. The location was decent - walked to a couple cool spots like Elsa's and the park overlooking the lakefront. But, the overall experience just lacked in customer service. In addition to not being able to […] look up our reservation, their valet was booked and I had to park almost 10 blocks away after circling the neighborhood for 20 minutes. I've had better luck parking in San Francisco than their surrounding area of 2 hour meters. The cherry on the sunday for me was the lack of internet (though it claimed it had a internet service on their website). And, then the TV remote didn't work either. Fortunately, we weren't there to hang in the room. On the bright side of things, the Knick is a decent bar at the entrance of the hotel. In the end, I think their are better deals in city that lists at the bottom of big city hotels. Lees meer
