super dichtbij het centrum, vriendelijke gastheer die prima engels sprak. kamer was okee, kan netter. ontbijt was redelijk en gratis

Pros: very affordable if you are on a tight budget. Cons: it it strongly not recommended for people in wheelchairs or extremely obese people. the elevator is very small -- 2 petite, average weight people carrying 2 backpacks barely had room to move. in addition, the toilet is very close to the wall, so again, not wheelchair accessible or comfy for bigger […] people. Re: shared bath, each room has a skeleton key to it. i thought this was not very safe if others can get in while you are in there. the keyhole is also big enough for someone to peep inside so i suggest draping a shirt over the door handle to cover it. i didn't understand the need for each room to have a key for the bathroom until i went to another hotel that left the key in the hole. the other hotel occupants decided to keep the key and turn it into their own private bath. btw...they advertise free wifi, but there's a 2 EUR charge to get the password. whut??? not a bank breaker, but that's shady. Excellent hotel, I had a wonderful stay. The rooms are a bit plan but they are comfortable. A bit cold but there were plenty of blankets to keep warm. The staff was really nice and helpful. Things were kept clean and the breakfast was simple but nice. Keep in mind it is a two star hotel but if you are not looking for a palace this is a great place.

I am studying abroad and when my friends visited we all stayed in this hotel. We went out at night and had I wake up the man every time because we didn't have a key to the hotel, so we had to ring the buzzer. He made a big ordeal of showing us how annoyed and how inconvenienced he was, and by the end of the stay we had learned to be scared of him. Hotel is in good central location. All dining places are in the neighbourhood. Car parking is very difficult, there was one car park two blocks away but it was closed. Hotel staff is very friendly. Rooms are very basic and carpets are old (not clean anymore). Breakfast is very basic, but cost only 4 euro/person.

The hotel staff is very friendly. Good location to access to the city centre and market but it was bit far to go to the station with big luggage.

Very central. 2 blocks from duomo. Clean room. Convenient for bars and restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff. Bad wifi. Not much variety for breakfast. Only major let down was very noisy street 24 hours.

While the location of this hotel is great, the rooms are not clean and the beds are old and uncomfortable. The hotel definitely requires better maintenance.. the breakfast is nice.. but after having travelled lots of other places in italy and stayed at other hotels (for budget travellers), I would not recommend this hotel. The staff is nice, location […] and breakfast is good. .But if you want a clean room (that doesn't smell) and a good and clean bed to sleep on, this is NOT the hotel for you.. Lees meer

Nice little hotel centrally located. Very friendly and helpful staff. Opted for the room with shared bath. Had breakfast which wasn't included and was 4 euros. You could get an espresso or a capucchino made. Next time would pay for the upgraded room with the bath and included breakfast.

It was a noisy in the street bellow but it was ok with the window closed. good location.. having a shared bathroom is not too great, better book for private bathroom if you can afford it

We stayed at the hotel for three nights at the start of August. It was pretty much what we expected for the money and it being in Italy (very dated, felt like it had had no renovations since the 1960's, basic with tacky pictures in the wall). The staff were friendly, although I'm positive the manager gave me a terrible cold (coughing and sneezing everywhere). […] The rooms are very basic, no air-con, shower door was broken and water pressure was a bit suspect. the breakfast they offer is very below par, proably wouldn't bother. It was in a good location though as you could easily walk everywhere you needed to get too. Like I said for the money it wasn't that bad but I probably wouldn't stay there again. Lees meer

Can't ask for more for the price of the room. The room and bathroom was very clean, breakfast was decent, the staff was kind, and the location is fantastic.

Delightful, clean, secure, central, walking distance to all the attractions and good restaurants nearby. Hosts and staff were polite, informative spoke good english, a very pleasant stay..

Pros: The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel room was very large and spacious as was the bathroom, we even had a balcony. Location was hard to find from the train station but once we found it, navigating through the city was very easy. It is just up the street from the Duomo and Uffizi. As advertised the hotel is very central to everything. Cons: […] The hotel room itself was very dirty. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling. The shower floor was very dirty, I felt uncomfortable standing on it. The bed was uneven/uncomfortable, one half of it was sunk in. It rained and water leaked in from the balcony door making the carpet all wet. The bedspread looked old and dirty. They charged us 10 Euros a day for air conditioning. The mosquitoes are a horrible problem. We woke up with bites everywhere and spent most of the time in our hotel room trying to swat them. You could see where previous guests had swatted them all over the walls. My boyfriend had to create a makeshift mosquito net out of our bedsheets just so we could sleep. I cannot recommend this hotel because of the lack of cleanliness and the mosquito problem. Lees meer

The staff at Hotel Centro were extremely helpful and nice and made you feel at home. The place was clean and secure and was in a great part of town. This was one of our best stays in all of Europe and I highly recommend this hotel for all others.

The host Francesco was very helpful and pleasant as was the night staff person. Ran off bus schedules for us. Wonderful books available in the lobby on the area. Decent breakfast and good coffee. Beds could use some improvement but weren't bad. Room was spacious and clean.

This is a budget hotel and that is what you should expect. It has a fabulous location and the staff are great. It's clean but there were squashed mosquitoes on our walls (which should have told me something...duh) and the bathroom was very narrow. It is a two star hotel and they do have WIFI. There is a nominal charge to use it but it's only a couple […] of Euro and that is good for the duration of your stay, NOT per day. The hotel is a block away from the Saint Lorenzo (and if you go there, you really should also get a ticket to visit the library. It's not every day that you get to see a pre-Guttenberg library). This was fine for the 2 nights that I was there. The room was small and had an external bathroom with the shower being a curtain section next to the toilet. The location was the best aspect and the managers were very nice.

This hotel had amazing service, all the patrons were great in recommending things to do and places to go to eat. The location is great especially for the price, you are right in the centre of Florence! 2 minute walk to the duomo. Only had one problem, the bed was very uncomfortable, it was like having two twin cots shoved together, not very comfortable. […] If they updated the mattresses this would be an amazing hotel! The hotel met all basic needs very well apart from breakfast which was unappetising with coffee from flasks!! In Italy!! Very disappointing. The location was very good; within easy walking distance of all major sites.

So let's start with the positives! The location of this hotel is excellent (just five minutes from the Duomo), the staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the rooms were clean. Unfortunately our stay was ruined by the amount of street noise coming from outside through the day and into the early hours of the morning. We do appreciate there will always […] be a level of noise when in a central location, but having stayed at similar locations in the past, I can honestly say the level of noise here was exceptional. The rooms were a little tired and the bed uncomfortable, although the shared spaces were welcoming. The bathroom in particular required updating, the shower head was cracked which meant the water didn't come out properly and it was difficult to get the temperature right. Breakfast was basic and the range of options dependent on whether you turned up before the rush. I would not return to this hotel, but if you want a good value hotel in a very central location, this may be for you. Just don't forget your ear plugs! Lees meer

-location: perfect, between academia & dumo -room: clean & comfy -breakfast: simple but tasty -only problem is we stayed in an non ensuite room, but it was fine as the price was v reasonable, otherwise the hotel was overall good.

Absolutely THE BEST LOCATION for a hotel in Florence, Academia and Duomo just next door, San Lorenzo and Mercato Centrale around the corner, 10 minute walk from train station. We walked across the arno to Piazzale Michelangelo to watch the sunset! Nice balance of new and old, good example of a modern renovation of a renaissance residence. GREAT bathroom […] with shower and high pressure water quite rare in Italy! Owner Francesco Levanti was around as part of friendly staff very helpful with info. I used to work with famous hotel chain so I have stayed at top hotels around the world inexpensively...Hotel Centro is the same experience, quality stay at a very good price. Very central location, as name implies.Rooms were small but ample.Good security, Wi-fi from lounge. Nice Continental breakfast. Francesco, owner, was delightful and very helpful. All restaurants recommended by Francesco were scrumptious. Very close to markets and shopping and Termini.

The staff at Hotel Centro are amazing. Very friendly and helpful. The location is also great, very centrally located and an easy walk to almost everything in Florence, including the train station. However, at night the street was very loud with drunk people pouring out of a bar across the street. The rooms were clean but the beds were old and saggy […] and uncomfortable and the bathrooms were very small and only had a shower head/wetroom floor so everything in the bathroom gets soaked when you take a shower. This Hotel is tucked away down a little side street right in the mix of things. PROS: CHEAP and in a great location. Your a 2 minute walk from San Lorenzo, 5 mins from the Duomo and 10 mins from Santa Maria Novella Station. The staff was extremely polite, friendly and helpful. Free WiFi and complimentry breakfast. Elevators. CONS: Upon check-in, there was a mistake with my room. We got stuck in the dreaded "Room 202". It didnt have a private bathroom like we booked and the bed was broken. After a night of running down the hall for a bathroom break and a few bruises from broken springs, they moved our luggage into the rooms we booked. Aside from the first night, which really wasnt bad at all, it really was a very pleasent stay. I'd highly recommend it to anyone. Its the best 3 star European hotel I've ever stayed at. Lees meer

This hotel is a very good deal! I was skeptical about it because it was very cheap but it turned out to be a very solid choice. The hotel is in the center of Florence, it's 5 minutes away from the Train station,all the attractions are withing walking distance, you get a nice buffet breakfast which means you can eat as much as want and there is also […] a supermarket right beside it . They even let us use the fridge for the yogurt and fruits that we bought for dinner. The room that we got was a fairly good size for European standards. The only thing is the noise coming from the streets below it, but if you're not traveling during summer time and can close the windows it should be fine. Lees meer

Nice little family hotel with in walking distance of many of Florence's attractions.

The room was dated, the wifi was iffy, but the staff were wonderful. Limited English. Couldn't beat the location or off-season price.

LOVED THAT IT WAS SO CLOSE TO THE DUOMO AND OTHER SITES... VERY CONVENIENT. BUILDING IS ANTIQUE AND PRESERVED TO HONOR A FAMOUS ARTIST WHO LIVED THERE MANY YEARS AGO. ALL ROOMS ON THE SECOND FLOOR ONLY HAVE NOT BEEN UPDATED AND NO AIR CONDITIONED.

Great location, right next to the San Lorenzo market. Family-run hotel, people were very nice and helpful.

The staff was incredulously friendly and the room comfortable. The location is convenient; only 2 blocks from the Duomo on a mostly pedestrian street, but sadly the room overlooked the noisy street. Get to breakfast early because the dining room is small.

The location was OUTSTANDING! And the hotel staff were so great- they were a wonderful resource for the best gelato place in town and for many other things as well. Last minute, we had a friend join us on the trip, and the hotel got him a fair priced room for 5 nights last minute- amazing! I have only good things to say about this hotel, and will recommend […] it to anyone who will listen! Hotelli oli sinällään ok hintaansa nähden kun kerran oli lähellä nähtävyyksiä, mutta monta epäkohtaa löytyi. Huone ei ollut kovin viihtyisä ja todella kylmä huhtikuussa, niin että palelsi. Kylpyhuone oli tilava, mutta esimerkiksi vessanpytyn istuin oli rikkinäinen ja inhottava. Aamiainen kuului hintaan ja sai sillä vatsansa täyteen. Mutta mitään nautinto […] ei aamiaisesta kuitenkaan saanut, kahvikin oli joka aamu yhtä kylmää ja kaikki tarjoilut halvinta mahdollista bulkkia. Läheinen sijainti nähtävyyksiin ei mielestäni kuitenkaan olisi riittävä syy tulla tähän hotelliin. Itse harmittelin sitä, ettemme etsineet vähän syrjemmästä ja rauhallisemmasta kaupunginosasta huonetta niin olisimme välttäneet turistiryysiksen. Itse ainakin tahtoisin lomalla edes huijata itseäni olevani vierailulla toisessa maassa, oikeiden paikallisten ihmisten elämää kurkkaamassa, enkä toisten turistien kanssa puristuksissa ylihintaisten matkamuistomyymälöiden välissä. Vi har været meget tilfredse med opholdet på hotellet, særlig det venlige personale og den uformelle familiære stemning. Hotellet er gammelt og værelserne små, men helt ok til prisen. Beliggenheden er perfekt og rimelig tæt på banegården. Der er rimelig meget larm fra gaden, men ellers ingenting at klage over. Anne Mette

é um hotel bem pequen o estilo Hostel...existe quartos com banheiro e banheiro compartilhado.. mas bem limpo..e um ótimo servico de atendimento..muito amigáveis.. nao incluia cafe da manha, mas o custo era de 4 euros e a vontade.. quartos pequenos e sem estacionamento... mas para quem quer economizar e nao irá de carro..é perfeito...fica bem no centro..perto […] de todos pontos turisticos..e tem supermercado de frente..e restaurantes Lees meer
