Excellent hotel to start your daily trips. Close to the airport, carpool/l-train, far enough from downtown not having to drive thru it to get anywhere. Free parking compensates for the lack of wifi in the rooms. Free wifi is available in the lobby tho.

The staff at Crystal Lake is always so kind and accommodating, and they were just as kind during this last stay. We will probably always stay with them when we come up to see our grandchildren!
pool was closed, there were ants in our room and the temp was uncontrollable. would not reccomend this hotel.
"A Great Getaway"
We wanted to get away from the mayhem of fireworks at the Chicago lakefront parks on the 4th of July. The Crystal Lake Holiday Inn was the perfect sanctuary.

"Holiday inn-Crystal Lake"
Service and staff was helpful and friendly. Room was small and expensive (executive suite). The mattress on the bed was very worn and had zero support, and dipped in the middle. The couch was the exact same way. The mini fridge had also not been cleaned or emptied. When I told the staff at checkout I was unable to sleep and the condition of the room, […] I was told "aww sorry", and offered no discount or compensation. I've been staying in Holiday Inns exclusively for 30 years and after this, I think I will look elsewhere. Lees meer

Holiday Inn Crystal Lake - very attentive and friendly staff, good location, clean (bar and dining closed earlier than we expected) - overall super and we will definitely be back.

out dated hotel that makes you sign a noise disclaimer and then does nothing about loud noice in the hotel what a joke.

The room was very clean and the King bed was comfortable. The breakfast service and food was excellent. The only suggestion would to sanitize sheets without having the lingering smell of bleach.

I went in not expecting much but this was a nice hotel. Breakfast was not included. It was clean and spacious. We reserved a King bed and it happened to have a couch and table also. Whenever I visit Crystal Lake, I will likely stay here.
THe hotel is nice enough, my biggest complaint is that smokers smoke at the entrance to the hotel. It gets quite smokey even though it is outside. It ruins the first impression of the hotel for non smokers.

The best hotel in the area. Large, comfortable beds, and very quiet. The automatic closing room doors do not slam the doors shut and so are quiet. Restaurant on-site is good but service is slow for a Saturday brunch (when we ordered off the menu). A very clean, bright and airy hotel but without pretense. The hotel grounds are pretty and include a lake. […] It is easy to catch the train into Chicago from here but you probably would only want to stay in this area if you were visiting this area (and not downtown). Lees meer
