Some strange bits seem not to have been refurbished, like old doors and drafty windows, leaving the impression of an old dormitory, but in fact the bathroom and furnishings were new and clean. If they had really finished the job properly, it would have felt like a really fancy place. 4 person family room was huge, but the second bed wasn't really big enough for two kids. We used a cushion on the ground for one, which was fine. Very close to museums, which was lovely, and easy access 2 blocks from Gloucester Rd tube. Didn't try breakfast, given many nice cafes just down in gloucester rd, including pret and starbucks and some independent options.

Hoewel het hotel is qua locatie prima centraal, de metro vlakbij. De kamer was schoon, alleen vond ik de dekens op de bedden minder fijn. Al met al een prima kwaliteit/ prijs verhouden, je bent immers in deze stad weinig op je kamer.

Een prettig hotel, mooi gelegen, dichtbij gezellige, niet dure en wel heel lekkere eethuisjes en op loopafstand van Portobello road. Vlakbij metrostation Baywater en Queensway, de laatste heeft een verbinding met de circle, ook fijn, je bent overal zo! Het hotel was schoon en de kamers werden ook iedere dag schoongemaakt, zelfs de theezakjes werden elke dag aangevuld. Heerlijk om sávonds een kopje thee te kunnen drinken voor het slapengaan. Onze kamer was vrij klein, maar wel met hoog plafond, dus niet benauwd en met een ligbad. Het ontbijt was goed en het personeel vriendelijk. Kortom, voor herhaling vatbaar.

Beoordeeld door een gast van Hotels.com op 24 feb, 2013Mooie ruime kamers, heerlijk bed. Werd elke dag opnieuw gedekt. Het hotel heeft veel voorzieningen. Voor ons was het jammer dat kinderen niet ten alle tijden mogen zwemmen. Ik was namelijk met mijn dochter van 12.Bediening in restaurant was wat stijf. Wij hadden een appartement, maar wat ontbrak was een kookplaatje. vanuit het hotel kun je heel goed reizen met metro en bus. Alles goed en snel bereikbaar. Alleen weinig winkels en restaurants in directe omgeving.

"Goed hotel om Londen te verkennen"
Wij hebben vroeg geboekt en daardoor hebben we een mooie korting gekregen op het hotel. Het hotel is proper. Wij hadden wel veel lawaai van de straat waardoor de nachten iets minder goed waren. Het ontbijt was OK. Tijdens ons verblijf waren er problemen met de Wifi, maar ze stelden wel PCs ter beschikking met internet. Avondeten hebben we steeds extern […] gedaan. Doordeweeks is het Novotel City South vooral een zakenhotel, in het weekend komen de prijsbewuste gezinnen de draaideur binnen. De kamer was zakelijk efficiënt en comfortabel. En vooral: heerlijk rustig. Geen herrie van de straat, geen geluiden uit het hotel zelf. Toch ligt het hotel maar een paar minuten van de promenade langs de southbank, die voert […] langs musea (Tate Mordern!), theaters, de populaire Boroughmarkt en andere attracties. we would never stay in novotel again, reception staff looked at us as though we were stupid,as key didn't work, she couldn't make it work either then when got to room card key wouldn't work again!!! went back to reception again looked at us though senile, but wouldn't work for here then in room only 2 cups for 3of us!! then manager phoned to see if […] we were happy & said not really he said would upgrade us but other room was no better, but by then we couldn't be bothered. breakfast was very good the only good thing about hotel. This hotel is for a one night only, as there is nowhere to put your clothes, I stayed in a superior queen with fold down sofa as I was there with my two daughters aged 17,19. There are no drawers in this room and a very small place in the corner to hang 6 items, we were staying for 4 days it was cramped and we had to live out our suitcases. I went to this hotel together with my parents. It was a pretty good experience. We enjoyed the room as it was well-cleaned and comfortable. We also had a great view towards the buildings (skyscrapers) of City of London district. The location of the hotel is great since you can get to river Thames attractions for around 5 mins of walk. Most of the things […] were enjoyable except for some issues. This issues were: 1. Sometimes we had to queue for breakfast, which wasted us at least 10 mins waiting. 2. A guy from the staff in the reception lacked the proper respect to his visitors. 3. Wireless with money? I mean really? At which hotel nowadays do you find wireless that charges fees? Thanks god we had the executive room and I was able to use the broadband cable for free, which you normally pay 14£/day if you had a normal room. 5. The technology inside the rooms is at least 10 years old, where you have all of those pay-for-movie/pay-for-music systems. You have around 20 local channels on the TV, which are very unpleasant to watch. 6. The bathroom in the main hall is pretty dirty during the day. And thats about it. These were my 6 complaints about the hotel. Overall its a pretty great experience if you have the executive room, but I wouldn't imagine having such a great time in a normal room where I would have to pay for the Internet. "Good price in a great location"
The hotel itself is absolutely fine - clean rooms, efficient, helpful staff, good breakfast etc. The main feature is its proximity to central London, in particular the City. It's a great location for visiting the Tower of London, Monument, St Pauls etc. It's also just ten minutes from the South Bank, Tate Modern etc. We'd definitely stay here again […] . "Great value, enjoyable stay"
Room was clean and modern, staff friendly and helpful. Room was quiet and fine for a family of 4. Paid for breakfast which was great although very busy between 8 and 9am, expect to queue a few minutes to get in. Location was good, 5 mins from the river and tube. "Comfortable stay"
The room was modern and clean and the bed was comfortable. All the essential things were there including tea/coffee/biscuits. Our son's bed was a sofa bed, which was actually a double-bed size, so would be suitable for two kids. Only negative things were the drains in both bath and the sink were very slow to get the water down. The breakfast included […] good variety of hot and cold food, but there was a queue to be seated and croissants ran out before they delivered more. "Amazing Hotel and Great Location"
We only stayed for the one night, but wish we had stayed longer. The hotel rooms are modern and clean. Staff were efficient, polite and went the extra mile. The location of the hotel was perfect, we were walking distance for Borough Market and The Shard, and with the underground only round the corner, London is at your finger tips. "Comfortable and convenient"
Great room, convenient location and satisfying breakfast. One disappointment was to come back after breakfast and find room wide open with all our valuables on show whilst the maid was cleaning the bathroom! we hadn't checked out!! "Good location, good restuarants"
Location was perfect - train into Euston, this hotel is on Northern Line re tube, which also links straight to Jubilee line for the O2, where we went to the C2C music festival. Good local pubs, love Borough Market. Little niggles about hotel - no ordinary tea bags, although they took our used hand towels, they weren't replaced (I would have been happy […] to use them for the 2 days of our stay!) "Disappointed"
During the afternoon of our arrival there was refurbishment work underway in an adjoining room which was extremely noisy. When we complained the management said there was nothing they could do about it because the builders were under contract to finish asap. Furthermore they told us they would be starting work again the following day (Sat) at 9.00am. […] In the event that did not happen. The bathroom in one of our rooms smelled like an open sewer - management agreed it was unacceptable but again could not or would not do anything about it. General condition of the hotel was "tired" and needed some work - which it was clearly getting. Staff and service were generally pretty good. I would not stay at this hotel again. We had a fantastic time. The hotel was in a great position, handy for the tube and the river for a bit of a walk. The staff were excellent, breakfast was spot on and the children age 9 and 12 were very impressed with the computer access in the foyer. We went to see girs aloud at the 02 and my sister and I enjoyed a couple of drinks whilst the boys updated […] their photos to facebook. "close to sights"
On first impressions it looked great. However within 5 mins had to change rooms as right next to the sauna and steam room and there was a constant bang after every 5 seconds. When reported to the reception they new about it but yet still put people there. We then moved to the other side of the fitness room where there where a few things like seats missing […] from the room. 5 mins into being in that room drilling started!! lucky for us we werent going to be there in the afternoon. Went to speak to reception again they new about it but failed to notify us about it. They ensured us it would stop by mid afternoon. On Sunday morning we got rudely awaken by drilling just before 9am and it continued throughout as checking out at 12noon. When i spoke to Reception before they leaving they instructed me that it should of only started around 10am which it didnt plus after paying what you do to stay there you would expect it to start at 12noon when your gone!!!
