Best Western Mission Inn in Las Cruces

Right next to the train tracks and the train comes through a couple times a night and in the 3am hours blaring it's horn. Room smells humid and musty. Needs a lot of TLC. No hot water, just warm. Toilet loose, outlet not working, cheap low wattage bulbs looked more like a brothel than a hotel. Restaurant not as advertized. Did not go into separate bar which was creepy looking from the outside. Pay more, get more, more of what hotels should be. Not returning.

Decor and style of room was old style in a very charming way. Bathroom amenities updated. All staff was super nice and helpful. Breakfast was unbelievable - a hot buffet, resturant style food and waitress serving coffee at the table! Mattresses not the best but comfortable enough. Towels were low grade. I only just checked out of this place 30 minutes ago and I'm literally compelled to pull over to the side of the road and write a review to warn my fellow travelers. This place was pretty awful. On the surface it seems like a nice enough place. It's more of a 1.5-2 star motel, but with a little character and a large piece of property. I got in at about […] 9:30 on a Saturday and the restaurants were already closed. I reserved a non-smoking room and when I entered the place smelled like it was only just converted or something. I thought back to the sign at the desk saying $250 fee if you smoke in the room and almost expect them to try and charge me. We'll find out. It turns out that their non-smoking room is directly above a smoking room, so everything just wafts up through windows, walls, or whatever. Terrible. The furniture wasn't too bad, or at least the bed was nice enough. The wood furnishings seem dingy and dirty, but mane that's meant to be part of the southwestern feel. I headed out to find a late dinner and the place is in the middle of nothing. Car dealerships, industrial places, etc. Nothing without driving a mile or so. I got back around midnight and tried to tuck in for sleep and that's when I noticed the refrigerator noise. At first it just seemed like a noisy compressor that I could ignore, but during the night it started squealing like a worn belt in an old car. The walls are thin and I could hear all sorts of noise from the rooms on either side and even below me. Talking, dogs barking, etc. No surprise that in the morning every sound from outside the room boomed through the windows as well. And then came the maid service. A little before 11 I got the first knock on the door. I was moving a little slowly from a poor night's sleep and a Sunday morning. But I was in the process of dressing and gathering my things. I will not recommend this hotel to others and not go back or consindering the Best Western for my next plan any more. thank you

The room was fine but the neighborhood was looking abandoned and unkempt. Wouldn't stay there again because of the neighborhood.

Very nice and cozy room. Beautiful southwest accents in a very large rustic room. Very quiet. Staff is very friendly. Not your modern cookie cutter hotel room. Much more inviting and comfy. Will go back to stay there next time we're in Las Cruces, NM.

The room was nice and roomy. But in the middle of the night we woke to a leaky roof.. had to pack up and move to another room. The staff was very friendly..both rooms had a very musty smell about them. had to get a candle to mask the smell. The breakfast were very good.

The motel is an older motel that has been well manintained. The heating/air conditioning could be improved in the room we stayed in. It worked fine, but was noisy. It had two blower speeds, but could use a third one with a themostat that would allow the unit to shut off and on.

our send time in few years, service staff is good but hotel was downgraded, it still has a 25" hulky TV, not to mention the bathtub took at least 10min to drain out and it's right next to the railroad so you can figure???

The plumbing in the room was in awful shape. The commode didn't flush at all and the tub stood in water the whole time we showered. It was disgusting.

On our swing back thru town, we decided to stay again, but wouldn't do that again. When I decided to shower later, had to remove a Big Cockroach from the tub so I could shower." Not Cool"

I was working at the Fairgrounds and this was a good location. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. It was quiet and easy to sleep.

I chose this Best Western for a business trip. The internet access was up and down and practically useless. Management couldn't be bothered for a resolution. I didn't bother to mention the mold in the shower since they obviously didn't care about my other issues.

They did not clean our room at all for 2 days in a row. When we finally complained, they said that "holdovers" are only cleaned between 8AM & 12N. We left the room at 12N each day. & had told them upon checking in that we'd be leaving late each day. If we had only known about their policy, we would have made it a point to leave earlier each day.

We had a great stay until the train came. 6am unwanted wake up call, by a very loud train ruined the stay. However other than that the hotel was nice and fair priced

It was great to get the room early, right when we got into town at noon! Only heard the train once around 10 p.m.

I had a good experience. The room was lovely! The wireless internet access was very spotty, though, and I was told there is no wired access (even though the motel website says there is). The staff was great. Other reviewers complained about the trains but I was there 3 nights and the train only came through once each night. Dynamite value. Huge comfortable bed, big room. The airconditioner kind of lagged, but finally cooled us down. Breakfast was outstanding as was the service!!

Wouldn't recommend staying here. This hotel is older and rather run down. The air-conditioner really didn't cool the whole room. We reported 3 times that the bathtub didn't drain when we took a shower. Nothing was ever done.

The breakfast was very good- good selection and quality. The breakfast staff were very attentive to the customers and kept the food well-stocked. Older hotel with minor updates such as raised showerhead and curved shower curtain rod. Cleaned fairly well, but had a stuffy smell that subsided some after we turned on the a/c and circulated the air. Good […] for a one-night travel stop, had very hot showers. Location was not far from highway exit, but near train tracks with train that came through at 2:30 am and near residence where dogs barked a lot. Nice room. It was too far from the location I was heading to but it was still nice. Water was collecting at the bottom of the shower, only complaint.

Its an old motel with a lot of upgrades, it serve a hotbreakfast in the morning, it has a pool, a lounge, i'll stay again, its in a decent area, the staff was really friendly. that a plus and it was priced well!

Nice hotel, other than it is right by the railroad tracks and the trails honk ALL NIGHT.

This hotel had everything we needed - great bed, in-room fridge, coffee, wireless, cable, central location for our purpose. The surrounding neighborhoods were scenic and safe for morning runs. I will say there is a vast amount of room for improvement in the breakfast provided.

Nice personal and clean room. Breakfast in restaurant . Nice to have room to sit and enjoy.

we just needed a place to stay while we took care of our business. it served it's purpose

rooms very different from what's shown on the internet. rooms were not clean toilet did not work! front desk manager (one of them) really an uncompromising person.

Staff was extremely helpful. Directed us to excellent resturant that was close to motel. The complimentary hotel breakfast was freshly cooked and superb! What a delight. Four Star rating for the condition of the motel is due to the fact that the windows in our room did not have screens on them and the window latch/lock did not work. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Las Cruces. All hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean and spacious.
