Omni Cancun Hotel & Villas All Inclusive in Cancún

We stayed in around 15 all inclusive resorts over the 2 months we traveled thu Mexico and this was one of the best.

We thought the pool area/chairs were too tight. We spent no time at the pool. Not enough chairs on the beach - just wanted to relax and felt like we couldn't until we staked out a chair. Great beach for body surfing. There were no other water activities like we thought - unless you booked & paid for an excursion and went off site. Easy to take bus into […] town. Food was ok - ate off property every night. Beach restaurant was decent and easy for lunch while on the beach. Villa was the trip saver - lots of room for our family but the 3rd room would not cool & was very hot. Kids weren't allowed in the hot tubs so that was a bummer too. Staff at hotel was nice & helpful. Grateful for tips no matter how small. Didn't like wearing the wristbands for the all inclusive. Avoided our 'personal concierge' since they really want to just get you to sit through their vacation club presentation and book excursions through them, understandable & fine if you are not comfortable finding those things on your own. Friendly and helpful staff in the restaurants and inside the hotel, however pool staff were slow and not very helpful. The hotel is a bit out of date, and I wish there was an outside lounging area as the indoor bar is rather dark.

We upgraded to ocean view after the first night - the lagoon view was overlooking the drive way roof - not really a lagoon view We loved the ocean view room- worth the upgrade charge! Food choices and dining excellent variety - we really enjoyed our time spent here!

A person can always find something to complain about but our stay was fantastic. The staff from top to bottom bent over backwards to make us feel special. I felt guilty at times. Staff was exceptional! I'd like to say a special thank you to - Jose (in the dining hall) Angelo, Javier, Martin and Caesareo (in various bars of the hotel) for making our stay so wonderful! Upkeep of the hotel was excellent - everything was very clean and the beach was absolutely gorgeous.

My wife and I stayed at the Omni Cancun for her 30th birthday and we were very impressed. We have stayed at other Cancun resorts in the past and this was our favorite. The staff was exceptional and always friendly. Our room was kept spotless by their staff, and the location on the beach was wonderful. We never had trouble finding a place to sit on the beach as there were plenty of chairs and shade, although I would recommend getting to the beach by 9am if you want shade. The hotel was clean, the food was fine, our room was clean and comfortable. The thing that bothered us was the maid would forget something in our room everyday. One day it was the coffee, the next was the coffee cups. It seemed like everyday we'd have to call down to the front desk and request something. They always brought it right up. The airport was tricky since we didn't really know where to go and we got roped into a timeshare presentation just trying to get a shuttle to our hotel. Watch out for those guys! It did rain two days for our stay at the end of January, but nothing you can do about that. They said the best time to come is February. Next time! Our fourth visit in 4 years- that should tell you all that you need to know. Great all around stay, I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The only negative would be that I would not bring young children to this particular property. It seems that evertghing is geared towards couples and families traveling with older children.

We just returned from a too-short stay at the Omni (January 16-21). I traveled with my husband and our two daughters, age 10. We had a great time and my husband and I agree that Omni is our favorite Cancun all-inclusive so far. We have stayed at at least 3 other all-inclusives and the Omni stands out for these reasons: Foremost -- absolutely wonderful […] service. Definitely the best service ever received at an all-inclusive. Not just because we tipped, either. (We do tip, though -- nothing major, but come on). I appreciated that ALL staff were welcoming (front desk was helpful, fast; bell boy nice, made specific suggestions and gave directions for lunch/meal when we got settled at odd hour; server at the buffet suggested, "Be sure to try the such and such", etc). Attentive staff by the pool to bring drinks. Bartenders quick and friendly. Food variety was great. Buffet was not huge, but lots of other options - kids ate sushi for lunch every day. I was partial to the taco hut. Good variety of things to do with activities, but not super rowdy. My kids did spend some time in the kids club -- staff there was super nice and attentive to them; the kids club is small-ish compared to Crowne Paradise but wasnt crowded. Beach was beautiful. Didn't have to get up way early to put your towel on chair by the pool (not sure about beach - seemed to be plenty tho). Favorite dinner spot was Deva down on the beach -- whole family agreed. I have given the hotel an overall 4 star rating for a reason other than the usual responses to common questions. This I will explain below. First, the pluses and they are big. We came as a group of two parents and two children ages four and two. The hotel adminstrator, Javier, was excellent throughout giving us the choice of two rooms that might fit […] our needs. The room was big with two beds and a crib. The room was meticulously clean and kept this way from the time check-in to check-out. The staff is the friendliest we have ever found, we have received, like all other customers, excellent service. No one can ask for a better service. The food was rich, a large selection of everything, and includes always a variery of choices for different types of customers. And for those who like desserts there are always freshly baked desserts, and a variety to choose from. The reason for giving the hotel a four star rating, and not five, is the nagging minus that will haunt anybody vacationing in Mexico almost everywhere. They have something akin to time share that they sell right in the lobby. I can't tell you what it is because it remains like a mystery. The reason we came in touch with that is that the guy sitting in front of the reception area had a sign suggesting he is selling tickets to Xcaret (eco-park). He was not clear as to why he will be giving us a discount to the park. From that point on they kept on calling us, even early in the morning, for the pitch. We opted out. Lees meer

Excellent hotel. My family n I loved the hotel and its surroundings . My sons made a lot of friends especially at the bar with Aldo - everyday with their strawberry n mango smoothies. I recommend it with or w/o children the hotel n food is awesome. We will be back in July with the WHOLE family

My husband I just got back from a week's stay at the Omni Cancun (we're 25 years old if that makes any difference). Pros: The resort was beautiful, the food was decent, the hot tubs were relaxing (although they weren't very hot), the staff was amazing and the resort wasn't very busy. We stayed on the lagoon side and our only issue was the noise level in the rooms. The walls were pretty thin so we could hear buses pulling up to the resort in the morning and chairs moving in the next room. However, the lagoon side had really pretty sunsets. Most things are wonderful. But, I had difficulty to take my stroller for kid because there is no ramp to the way to the restaurant. And, they had tennis court but has only few rackets for rent, moreover thet are not in good condition.

Direct hotel staff were great - very friendly and helpful. However, did not appreciate the "time share sales" staff who work for a separate part of the hotel. Hotel was in good shape, but mold smell in the bathroom of our room. Bed mattress was a bit uncomfortable.

We stayed at this hotel for a week over the New Year's holiday. We have four children 8 and under. The accommodations were very comfortable and well-suited for a family vacation. Most occupants at this time of the year appeared to be families and a few couples. We stayed in a villa that very comfortably fit our family and was cleaned well every day. […] Food options also suited our family well as there were a fair mixture of 2 nice restaurants and 3 that were more casual. We booked the OMNI because they had availability for New Year's Eve. We got a lagoon view because ocean views were all taken. Fortunately, we could still see the ocean by stepping out on our balcony and looking to the right. Our room was nice with two comfortable beds. The bathroom was spotless although I would prefer a separate shower, over a tub/shower. The lobby is a bit "tame" compared to the dramatic multi-storied affairs in newer hotels, but it is clean and luxurious. Restaurants and bars were all excellent, with prompt and friendly service. Great hotel and complex. This is a wonderful place to stay for a family. Our kids are 14 and 15 and had a lot to do with the many pools; pool activities and access to the beach. The layout of the hotel is great also and the many different pools make it fun. You can walk the beach for hours and never tire. The only thing that we did not care for was […] the food. It was average at best; however being an all-inclusive there were plenty of choices. On the otherhand, the bars and drinks were very good. The swim up bars were very active. We did not base our great trip on the food and overall we consider this a very successful, fun and fantastic place to stay and for a family to enjoy each other's company. A very nice hotel with great staff. We have been to Cancun for a week's vacation for the last six years and this hotel was perfect. The food was good at breakfast .... fantastic at lunch and good at our evening meal. I have already recommended Omni to family and friends as a wonderful environment for a family getaway. I went with my elderly mother and my 6yo. My mum enjoyed the yoga classes and the friendliness of the entertainment staff. My 6yo enjoyed the kids club. I was happy that they both found things that made them happy. Between the relaxation, the food […] and the hospitality, I can say that we had an almost perfect vacation... the only thing that diminishes our stay was that it was difficult to get my munchkin to focus on doing the nominal homework that her teacher sent with her. I'm pretty sure if I'd mentioned this difficulty to the friendly Omni staff, they would have figured this out for me too ;) I was a bit suspicious about a Cancun vacation, thinking that it might not be a family-friendly environment. But I have three generations that were impressed and happy with the Omni! The reviews I'd read prior to choosing the Omni held true. All the staff was amazing, so many restaurants to choose from, everything was always clean, and there were a lot of activities to choose from; the only bad thing, is that they closed the pool area too early (6 pm) but other than that, great experience! :) ...oh, and best of all, nobody offered us a timeshare!!

We had a great experience at the Omni. The room could be a little nicer but the staff kept it clean and stocked with towels and refreshments. We paid for the ocean view upgrade which was money well spent! The staff throughout the entire hotel was so accommodating and pleasant throughout the trip, I am not used to service like that! We went down to the beach nearly every day since they will still bring you drinks even up by the water line. The hotel was okay....It was our first trip to this particular resort. It needs some maintenance. The bathroom little light was going on and off all the time....It's pretty hard to miss that. My kids complained about the sheets having this bad odor.....and it did. The staffs were not very courteous in Pool Grill and actually all of the outdoor restaurant […] except Pina Colada. I was very disappointed by the manner that they served toward the customers. They just were not trained properly from the basic.... We were in Beach Palace the last time we went and the service were great... However the beach scene were beautiful. Also my kids were very happy at the Kids club. Everyone was very nice and helpful and attentive with drinks. It was great to relax and there weren't too many families around so the pool wasn't totally kid focused. The food wasn't amazing but they were very eager to please and the hotel used high quality alcohol which was great.

We booked the 3-story villa for the 5 of us. It was too much house, though. We barely used the 3rd floor. However, the villa would be ideal for families with teenagers or couples travelling together. The service was mediocre; they seemed exhausted and didn't really want to take on too many food orders. The food at the buffet was superb, except their […] selection of desserts was sub-par (nothing fancy or tasted fantastic#. The staff doesn't like to venture off the menu #whatever is listed is what they offer#. In comparison, the Palace hotels would accomodate off the menu items such as cappuccinos, and Mai Tai's #for example#. For the most part, I was disappointed. My expectations were based on the reviews and the hotel description #60% was incorrect). The Omni Sensational Kids club is not a program where they get fresh cookies upon check in, or free toys, or scavenger hunts. It is a place, where kids go when parents need a break. The entertainment staff would offer "karaoke" or an evening show, but would cancel because of lack of room and they don't tell people that. It's disappointing when that happens. The Jacuzzi was restricted to adults and the security was always hovering to make sure children were not allowed. When I asked them, they made up excuses like "too much chlorine", "that's the rules", or "it's a bar".. but it was cold so I asked them where to take my "el ninos" and they shrugged like "what? they can't go in the freakin' cold children's pool?"
