Voor ons doel, musea bezoeken in den Haag, was dit een bijzonder goed hotel. Op loopafstand van verscheidene musea en vlakbij een tram-verbinding naar het centrum en station. Gratis koffie en thee in de lounge en schone, zij het kleine kamers. Prijs/kwaliteit is prima. Ontbijt ook goed (€12,50).

Pluspunten: mooi modern hotel, prima bedden, airco goed afgesteld, lekkere douche, vriendelijk personeel, mooi dakterras, naast het centraal station (geen geluidsoverlast van treinen). Minpunten: standaardkamer was niet erg ruim en zag uit op andere kamers.

Opvallend veel slechte kritieken gelezen over de service en de keuken van het hotel. We zijn daarom buitenshuis gaan eten. Maar volstrekt ten onrechte. De service en bediening was prima evenals het ontbijt. we komen hier terug en blijven dan ook eten.

Locatie.
Deze accommodatie in Hoofddorp vind je handig dichtbij de luchthaven. Het centrum van Amsterdam (met bezienswaardigheden zoals het Rijksmuseum en Van Gogh Museum) ligt op 12 km afstand.
Faciliteiten.
Hotel Schiphol heeft een verwarmd binnenzwembad, een sauna en een stoomkamer. De zakelijke voorzieningen zijn 22 vergaderruimtes, een ruimte voor feesten/partijen, een draadloze internetverbinding en zakelijke diensten. Hotel Schiphol A4 heeft een restaurant en een bar. Roomservice is tijdens bepaalde tijden beschikbaar. Deze 4-sterren-accommodatie biedt ook gratis een regelmatige luchthavenshuttledienst aan. Je kan ook gratis bij het hotel parkeren. Deze accommodatie beschikt over speciale rokersruimtes.
Kamers.
De aanwezige kamervoorzieningen zijn wekkerradio's, bureaus en telefoons met een directe buitenlijn. Badkamers hebben een aparte badkuip en douchecabine en föhns. Alle kamers in hotel Schiphol A4 zijn niet-roken.
Afhankelijk van het hotelbeleid kan voor extra personen een toeslag worden aangerekend.
Bij het inchecken dien je in het geval van incidentele kosten een erkend identiteitsbewijs en een borgsom in contanten of creditcard voor te leggen.

Schiphol, de internationale luchthaven van Amsterdam, bevindt zich veertien kilometer ten zuidwesten van het stadscentrum. Het is een moderne, efficiënte hub met goede bewegwijzering, goede winkels en het Rijksmuseum Amsterdam Schiphol, waarin een aantal werken van het Rijksmuseum wordt tentoongesteld. Binnen de terminal is een treinstation met snelle en regelmatige diensten naar het stadscentrum en de buitenwijken. Er rijden tevens taxi's en pendelbussen van de luchthaven naar de hotels.

"een prima begin van je vakantie"
vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel, gezellige bar en uiterst centraal gelegen t.o.v.schiphol en amsterdam
"thuis gevoel"
Het hotel heeft me jaren geleden het thuis gevoel gegeven, en dat gevoel is er nog steeds. "k Geniet ook altijd van de heerlijke menu's die ik er gegeten heb zowel alleen als met de familie en vrienden. Bij jullie is het altijd goed starten met de vakantie, en goed uitrusten. Dank daarvoor aan alle medewerkers van A4.
"Hotel Schiphol A4"
Een prima en goed geverzorgd hotel. Amsterdam zeer goed bereikbaar via de shuttle (instap en uitstap letterlijk voor de deur van het hoteo). Via de shuttle naar Schiphol en vervolgens met de trein naar Amsterdam Centraal ( treinen zeer frequent). Personeel zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam, ontbijt zeer goed gesorteerd en een heerlijk (klein) zwembad om […] even te ontspannen. Ook een kleine kritische kanttekening: wij hadden een kamer voor 4 personen (gezin), echter maar 3 stoelen. Onduidelijkheid bij het betalen van het ontbijt: de receptie wist niet dat wij de rekening al hadden voldaan in het restaurant: kostte toch enige tijd en bewijsmateriaal. "Prima hotel nabij Schiphol"
Wij gebruiken dit hotel altijd als we vroeg moeten vertrekken vanaf Schiphol. De kamers zijn wat gedateerd, maar wel schoon en comfortabel. De shuttle van het hotel brengt je van, en naar Schiphol. Het ontbijt is heerlijk uitgebreid.
"Douchekranen onhandig en vuil tapijt"
Prima hotel, goed gelegen, voordelig, ruime kamers. Minpunten: warm en koud water hebben twee aparte kranen wat het moeilijk en omslachtig (en niet ongevaarlijk) maakt om de juiste temperatuur in te stellen; tapijt in restaurant is wel erg vuil.

Wij maken regelmatig gebruik van hotel Schiphol als wij de volgende dag gaan vliegen. De airport ligt op 5 minuten rijafstand zonder dat je hindert hebt van het vliegverkeer. De kamers zijn comfortabel, de bedden zijn prima.

jammer dat de ontbijt prijs 20 procent! is verhoogd tot euro 15 per persoon
Prima verblijf gehad, jammer van de keuken verbouwing, waardoor het een beetje rommelig was. Maar ook daardoor was er een uitstekend diner-buffet 's avonds. Onze complimenten hiervoor! Een minpuntje: een koelkastje op de kamer zou erg handig zijn en er was ook geen koffie/thee aanwezig!
"Don't judge a book by it's cover"
From the road, or highway actually, this hotel doesn't look like much. Don't let that fool you, it's a very nice place to spend the night with good quiet rooms. The restaurant was also very good.

"A problematic stay"
I arrived at about 10:00 PM on the shuttle bus from the train station. I am elderly, and recently had surgery, so am slow and need assistance. The desk clerk was very friendly, but told me there was no bellman. I would have to find my own way to my room, which was at the end of the hall in the 800 series. I had to take 2 elevators, and go up an inclne. […] As I had all my luggage, it was quite challenging, and took more than 15 minutes. I got to the room to find that the telephone did not connect me with the desk (to request help for the AM), so I had to do it all over again early in the morning to make the 6 AM bus to Schiphol. What a tough way to start a long journey! The hotel is not as close to the terminal as advertised. I wish I had known that I would have the difficulty, and I would have asked for a special disability room. I would not recommend that any of my friends from Florida stay there before a flight. The room itself was lovely, but the inconvenience of the route to the sleeping areas, and the two elevators, makes it a poor choice for a retiree. Lees meer
"Great experience"
The hotel was very elegant and had excellent ambience. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The frequent shuttle service from the hotel to Schiphol Airport was excellent. Breakfast buffet is very good. The standard rooms did not have kettles or a tiny refridgerator which I did expect.

This hotel is close to the airport and the bus is a great asset, which makes the location great.

"Van der Valk Hotel - close to Amsterdam Airport"
The hotel was convenient and very comfortable. The only drawback was no room service, as we had been delayed by snow and everywhere was closed.
"My first overnight stay in Amsterdam"
Flying from Sweden back to San Francisco...I was required to stay overnight in Amersterdam. I looked for a hotel near the airport that had a convenient shuttle service and restaurant. altho9ugh married I was traveling alone and security was an issue for me as well as convenience. This hotel met all of my requirements. The restaurant I was told was under […] construction and the staff apologized for any inconvenience but I found none...the restaurant was lovely, the staff attentive an I was seated at a lovely window table. The prices were a little on the high side but not outrages and the wine pricing was comparible to other restaurant I've eaten in. Wi-Fi was frustrating for me (perhaps my tablet) and their internet service was pricey for 15 minutes. However, I found everything else to be outstanding. Thank you....Anna S. Lees meer
They tried to fake us from the very first moment, they charged 12% of taxes instead 6%. The toilet smelled like pee, we had to request for toilet tissue 3 times in 2 hours and the recepcionist replied in a bad mood. Amsterdam has plenty of swindlers, they ruined the last part of our trip. I won't definitively be back in Netherlands.

"quad family room"
The hotel was used as a last night stop before an early flight. The room for the 4 of us was large and clean. It opened up on to the grass so our little one could play right outside the room and chase bunnies! Nice pool, and food/gas steps away (KFC/ BURGER KING) The free parking is a plus! WOuld definately stay again. The only negative...we were 20 […] minutes early for check in and they wanted to charge us 15 euro....needless to say we just hung out for 20 minutes!! odd!! Lees meer

The hotel is nice, but not very close to Schiphol. The GPS in the rental car could not find it. Located next to a highway rest area with a service station and restaurants. Make sure you fill up the tank before going to the hotel because you cannot access the service station from the hotel unless you drive the wrong way on a couple of one way street […] s. Lees meer
"Schiphol A4 Hotel"
The shuttle bus goes ~ every 40 minutes and the drive from the airport ends up being 10-25 minutes. the hotel is huge. They have large banquet rooms and the night I was there a large party maybe a wedding was going on with a nightclub in one room with very loud music that I could still hear in my room which was 2 floors up. I slept OK however and thought […] the hotel was OK. The decor in the rooms is a little tired. Not my favorite hotel but I did get a good night's rest and the shuttle bus ran on schedule. Lees meer

Great lobby, great staff, great shuttle to and from airport, great restaurants in the area, nice heated pool. The room was a little dated in regards to carpet, and bed too soft for my liking, but the room is spacious. "Hotel Schipol easy to access and good for families"
Travelled with an overnight layover before a transatlantic flight. Accompanied by husband and two kids (7, 10). Quad room was generously sized and beds were comfortable. We took the shuttle back to the airport to catch the train into Amsterdam, wandered around and caught a train/shuttle back to the hotel. That part wasn't quite as convenient as staying […] in town, but the ease of luggage transfer and the short shuttle ride for the AM flight was appreciated. Shuttles run every 40 minutes and it's about a 10 min ride to Schipol. Room was v quiet despite location on freeway and so near flight path. Large bathtub and separate shower, lots of built in storage. Overall a comfortable stay. Didn't have a chance to check out the pool, but I would expect it was fine. Service at desk was friendly and efficient. Took less than a minute to check out. Carpet was a bit worn and the AC emitted a high pitched squeal, but really a no-stress 24-hour stay in NL. Lees meer

Very nice hotel for price and convenient shuttle to/from the airport. My wife, teenage daughters and I stayed in one of the family rooms and loved the size and layout of the room. The negatives were that the bathroom smelled like stale urine/beer and the pool temperature was frigid.

It has been awhile since we returned home,giving me more time to think of our stay. I give this hotel a "5" in almost all categories. I especially loved the breakfast buffet. Expensive, but such an array of Dutch foods, meats, cheese and baked goods.

1. wi-fi for payment( it is bad) 2. Far from Amsterdam but shuttle service to-from airport 10~15 min so not a big issue. 3. Huge hotel but it does not mean you will get high quality service. But I don't mean this hotel is bad, but if you are thinking this hotel is nice by just looking through hotel explanation in website, it might be wrong.
"Good airport hotel"
Good hotel. Not close to anything (it's literally in a highway service plaza), but shuttle service to Schiphol Airport is convenient and reliable. Very accommodating staff. AMAZING brand new pool and wellness center. Definitely check it out.

"Hotel Schiphol A4 outside Amsterdam"
There was no coffee or tea or extra toilet paper in the room. There was also nowhere to hang your towel in the room where the toilet was. The carpets looked used & abused however, the rooms were enormous. Lots of room for children to play. Some of the lamps were also not working but overall a comfortable place to stay. Busiest hotel I've ever seen. […] If you don't know the parrot image that accompanies the hotel sign when viewed from the highway A4, then you may miss the turn-off. "Great Value on a Plush Hotel!"
A great hotel with plush comfortable rooms and nice accommodations! It was a little further from the Schiphol Airport than I expected since I was only there for layover, but shuttle service was good as it wasn't too far. The most cost effective way to get to downtown Amsterdam was to take the shuttle back to the airport, then take the train into Central […] Station. "Definitely NOT four stars!"
There was an extra fee for early check-in and the hotel was definitely not 4 stars...2.5, but not 4. Also, they did not clean the room the second day.

"Hotel Schiphol A4 Amsterdam"
Non smoking room was full of cigarette burn marks in furniture and carpets, patios full of cigarette buds, this in 2 rooms! No nasal tissues supplied. As a contrast, dining food and service was excellent. Staff was very polite.

We stayed here for 4 days and it was great. Location is fantastic, so close to A4 to visit every major tourist location and else. Great breakfast buffet and wonderful restaurant.
