Very central location to city center/train and bus stations.Street is shabby but plenty restaurants and takeouts.Room decent size a single and double room but noisy water pipes so could hear others flushing and cobwebs in room.Overall good price for very central location and comfortable beds

Comfortable but slightly dated. Nice quaint restaurant for drinks, dinner and breakfast. Easy walking to other restaurants, shops and Cork's night life.

We weren't expecting much and we were pleasantly surprised with every aspect of this hotel. Good location, takes 5 mins to walk to the centre/bus station. For the price you can't go wrong.

The dirt of our bathroom and windows were disgusting. Never felt comfortable in the room because of this. It was impossible to see out the windows, first of all because they were filthy and second of all the light belonging to the front of the hotel was directly outside and shining into the room. Great stay nice hotel would recommend

very comfortable and good locations

We had a great couple of nights here - close to restaurants, pubs and shopping. Just a little noisy tho so bring earplugs and you're set. Would love to sit outside by the waterfall during our next stay - not during the rain. Would consider this place again for sure! Room was clean and large...

Good: Located near city center and bus station (Parnell Place, busses to airport and to other cities). Breakfast is not really necessary, as there are several (cheaper) alternatives in the same street. Very bad: we had a room facing the street and it was very noisy. We asked for a quiet room and was assured of one but when we arrived, we were told that to have the walk in shower (which we asked for at the same time as we asked for the quiet room i.e. at time of booking) we were told that we had to be on the noisy side of the hotel. Nice location, good staff. Rooms desperately need to be updated. One of our walls was block glass and open for all to see. Hotel looks great on the outside, and the alleyway to the hotel is one of the best entrances in the entire world. Bathrooms where not nice. Pay a little extra so you can take a clean shower. They gave the wife and I, Ozzie and Harriet […] beds. Parking is $5, but I bet you could do it cheaper with a little planning. Lees meer

This review is short: me and my wife really enjoyed this hotel. Well situated, clear, pretty quiet. There WAS a lot of noisy people who started making loud conversation at 4 in the morning(!!) But I went to the front desk and this was all settled in a matter of minutes, so I don't care for that event because they were very responsive. Thanks for the […] good service! Breakfast was very good too (and less "greasy" than many other places.) If I'd have to find one negative, I'd say they put the room's key on a GIANT keyring. The idea is they want you to leave the key at the front desk when you leave, but if you want to keep it instead, then you have to do with that huge thing that absolutely WON'T fit your pocket, lol. hotel lobby and courtyard are nice. breakfast was lovely. hard to find nestled between buildings. parking is a little far and complicated. staff not so friendly.

Love this hotel! The only thing negative about it is that they charge you for internet... literally, that's it. Good service, beautiful rooms, loved it

Great hotel...off of a busy street and few blocks away from the heart of the attractions: cathedral, English Market, churches, shopping, pubs, etc. Rooms are clean but will require renovations in near future. We stayed at the Hotel Isaacs for the week and the location was perfect for us. Only a 5 minute walk to the main St Patrick Street and shops galore. Any type of food you want to eat on the same street and great pubs to visit with live music. The location was perfect for us to travel down to West Cork a few days too. Didn't eat at the hotel as it was a little pricey but couldn't fault the help the staff there gave you. My only criticism is we asked for an early morning call for 4.15 am on the day of departure and checked it was all in order a number of times as we had to drive for 2 and a half to 3 hours to get to Rosslaire for the ferry home. We did NOT receive our early morning call and luckily we woke at 5.15 am but had to drive extremely fast to get to the port in time. We made it within half hour of departure. NOT HAPPY. The night porter said he called us but I can assure you he did not. Would he have foot the bill if we had to pay for another passage on the ferry if we had missed it!!!!! It would not stop me staying at the hotel again though, just don't book an early morning call. Lees meer

Traveled with 2 adult children & was very pleased with the apartment we were given. Had 2 separate bedrooms as well as a living room area. The suite also included a small, but complete kitchen! Only there for one night, but it was very comfortable. Extremely cute little place!

It is an average hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The location is excellent and it has a two good restaurants. The rooms are dated and we were unhappy with the cleanliness of the room. We would recommend the hotel as we stayed previously without any such issues.

Lovely! arrived late at night before Xmas exhausted after Heathrow delays. Warm fire, Xmas tree, welcoming staff - like walking into an Xmas card! Really nice room so clean and warm. Then next morning, outside the dining room, was a beautiful rocky hill with waterfall. The water had turned to ice with icicles. Such a gorgeous scene I put it on my mobile […] screensaver. The breakfast was generous, hot and hearty, just right for the sub zero temperatures outside. The reception staff very helpful with the extra travel arrangements that had to be made as a result of having to fly into Cork instead of Dublin. Would definitely return to Issacs. In a great location, but the rooms are a little tired and old. The heating was very good, which was a good thing given the cold winter of 2010! The wall of my room (209) was merely a partition, so I was privy to all the conversations taking place in room 210 - earplugs might be a good idea to ensure an undisturbed night's sleep. While very clean, we had more comfortable rooms at the other hotels we stayed in during our trip to Ireland. One guidebook described this as a nice hotel but rather weary, which is right on the money. Don't expect fancy or new furnishings or a large TV, or even free wifi (it costs money). It was very clean and the staff attentive, and a short walk from […] the main downtown area, and the waterfall in the courtyard was amazing. But when almost everyone else is offering free wifi these days, since the hotel didn't 'wow' me, I would look elsewhere for my next trip to Cork. Hotel seem to be a nice and fear priced stay, close to city center just a walk over bridge. Never tried the resturant but seems like that was like a good dinning place. Room was okay, but smelled like a old smoking room even it was a no smoking room, all over clean was okay. Pubs are close to hotel and has a lot of local people among tourists in it […] , i personaly got my beer at the friendliest bar ever, LV-PUB and is a recomand for a local pub, it has a hotel conected to it too, but cant rember name. Reception staff very pleasant and welcoming .Our room was old fashioned but very clean and the bed very comfortable although the lights in the reading lamps were too dim. Although it was a very cold, wet evening, there was no fire lighting in the lounge which was quite draughty and chilly . Parking is a nightmare since there is no proper set down or […] pick up at the hotel and we discovered that the car park used by the hotel-which is in a very secluded area, is open to the public all day Sunday-so not very secure .Using the carpark at other times since can be quite an ordeal since the fob for the carpark has to be returned to the hotel after each use. The area itself is quite noisy-especially late in the evening .However , if one is not travelling by car then this is an ideal location near the city centre . The staff could not have been more helpful .The restaurant (Greens )is wonderful but expensive although the hotel itself offers great value for money.If we were travelling without a car we would definitely be back . I stayed in Isaacs for 2 nights, on a boozy weekend away with a couple of mates. It was perfect for that, but I wouldn't stay here if I was bringing my girlfriend on a romantic weekend. There are 4* hotels for that, close by. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel itself was okay. Clean and comfortable. Nice outdoor area by the bar. My bathroom […] was tiny, but served its purpose. Wi-Fi was 12euro for 24 hours. Ridiculous to have to pay for such a thing in a hotel, and it was dog slow. Dropping the connection occasionally. My bedroom overlooked the alleyway by Greene's Restaurant, and as a result, with the window open at night, the smell of food in the morning made my stomach turn. I just got up and shut the window. No big deal. Overall, very pleasant. I'd stay there again. Just probably not with my other half. Lees meer

The location was handy to city centre but we couldn't sleep because of the noise of people spilling out of pubs throughout the night. The bathroom had mould and the place could generally do with a lick of paint. Parking was only available a few hundred metres away for 5euros/day.

For the price it wasn't worth the stay. The room was large, that's the only positive we encountered. The bathroom was in need of upkeep and cleaning. When in room you can hear everything (people talking in the next room, people walking by in the hallway, people walking around in the room above, and the very loud people at night walking and talking in […] the outside area (even with the windows closed). The charge to use the internet was high (but there is an internet/phone place a few doors away where the internet is 1 Euro/hour) compared to the hotel 5.95 Euros/hour or 12.95 Euros for a day. After our experience here we would definitely find some where else to stay in Cork. Lees meer

Isaacs is in a great location in Cork city, very close to train and bus stations and all amenities. It is great value for this ideal location. The outside courtyard is very pretty and the restauarant is fantastic. While the bedrooms are big, the decor and facilities are very basic, it wouldn't be a good choice for a romantic getaway more a convenient […] spot from which to enjoy the city. The location is just perfect for a trip to Cork, whither your on a shopping trip or brousing the city. All within walking distance. Very comfotable rooms and a lovely patio area with cascading waterfall.

Very Nice hotel, excellent location and great value. Highly recommended

I was quite unimpressed with the accommodations. I was given a room right above the lit hotel sign on the first floor. This meant that I could either have the windows open and benefit from much street noise and the lights from the hotel sign - or close the windows and suffocate because the room was so warm. I opted to sleep with the window open, but […] I did not feel particularly safe doing so. In addition, the bathroom was full of mildew and triggered my allergies in a big way. Don't expect them to accommodate hotel guests at the restaurant either. I only managed to get a table at nine o'clock and it was a poorly placed table (so much so that it was moved half way through the meal!) All in all, a very disappointing experience. Lees meer

Is a fantastic base for a great night out in the city centre of Cork it is within easy reach of some very great pubs and clubs

The hotel was very unique looking. It was in a good location and the rooms were very comfortable.

Nice for the money. One of the larger rooms we stayed in while in Ireland. Water feature was very pretty. Parking was a couple blocks away, but better than parking on the street.

generally the hotel room was clean and comfortable but the bathroom /shower was dirty and is in need of refurbishing. On one occasion the maid didn't clean the room nor change the dirty towels. The room I stayed in was at the far end of the hotel (back) and there was lots of noise due to the fact the restaurant staff was constantly dumping empty bottles […] in the rubbish bin in addition, there was heavy foot steps coming from the above floor coupled with banging doors from the next room. the staff was very unfriendly and during the five days I was there only 1 staff said good morning, once. It is impossible to sleep in darkness in this hotel, because the light from the hallway shines through the top of the hallway windows (yes, all the rooms have glass windows into the hallways). das Hotel liegt direkt an einer Hauptstraße in Cork. Wir hatten ein Zimmer zum Hof, somit vom Lärm nicht betroffen. Der Zustand ist für ein drei Sterne Hotel ausreichend. Hotel ancien flanqué au pied d'une falaise Le restaurant attenant envoie ses effluves aux fenêtres de chambres; très désagréable...... La chambre est ancienne et mérite un sérieux rafraichissement . Il y fait toujours trop chaud et impossible d'aérer à cause des odeurs de cuisine.
