I can recommend this hotel. Good service, very clean and proper hotel.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Mandarin. The breakfast and the food I. The VIP lounge was really good, my main complaint is that the facilities are old and on desperate need of updating. I changed rooms 4 times mainly because of the bed and the standard of the rooms were the same no matter which floor I went to. The hotel corridors are not air conditioned […] so it felt hot and humid. The walls need painting and the rugs dirty. If you can see beyond that, you will enjoy your stay here. Surprised the Mandrin name has allowed this location to go so long without a much needed refresh. All drinks and food is quite overpriced.

Nice hotel in reasonable location for shopping. Service met high expectations of the Mandarin Oriental chain but let down by dated decor in the rooms. Hotel is desperately in need of renovating. Personally, I would probably not return, although this may explain the reasonable room rates we paid. No WiFi.

I like this hotel a lot. People is great, service is great, etc. one thing only and that is the hotel is aging and needs upgrades and renovation. There was kitchen smells coming from the air conditioning vents of my room at times and that is why I don't give this hotel the highest qualifications.

The rate for the room was reasonable based on the hotel's reputation. The room was very large and clean; however both the room and the halls looked very worn and needed renovating. The food was extremely expensive at all of the locations in the hotel; however the staff was very friendly.

The service is impecable -- staff are always smiling and helping. Though room is a little run-down as light control buttons for example are not working.

The service at Mandarin Oriental Manila was outstanding from start to finish. The staff were friendly, helpful and anticipated our needs. Unfortunately the condition of the hotel is surprisingly poor in some areas. It took a long time to book in, it is a long way from the Air port and no free shuttle bus, we had 3 rooms 2 previously booked, how ever the one i was in smelt of cigarette smoke, its a classy looking hotel, the plumbing was noisy during the night.

It is a older hotel which outwardly looks dated. But the rooms are big with plenty of space around a huge king size bed. Fitness centre was sizeable with good equipment and pool area was large and green. Plenty of lounge area to relax indoors. Overall a very cost effective hotel in the heart of makati

the location is convenient but not as convenient as the Manila Pen or others. perhaps its because the lounge and lobby area are small but i found the security to be excessive like I was in a prison. it didn't make me feel safe but the opposite. it made me feel insecure. why so much security? considering the Philippine military are the only ones known […] to lay siege to Makati hotels, I don't really know what the excessive security was for. there was also a giant cockroach walking in the room -- nothing a slipper couldn't kill -- but which was unexpected for this hotel. disappointed that they charge for filtered water and wi-fi. Service is excellent, staff friendly. We stayed on the Club floor, but the rooms were a little "tired" and in need of a refurb. That is not to say it was unpleasant. Overall, would definitely go back next time.

I've stayed at the MO for the last 10 years. It needed a reno 10 years ago and needs it more so now. I'm tired of supporting the property waiting for a change. I now recommend using other Makati properties unless MO becomes significantly cheaper. 5 star service, 2-3 star hardware :-(

our hotel room was all right until the 3rd day, when the leak from the ceiling started pouring, early am of Sunday, i had to wait till am to report the problem. to appease us they transferred us to a suite on the eighteenth floor, the bedroom was okay, the living sofa needed some cleaning or reupholstery. Not a bad room overall. There was a problem with the plumbing in the bathroom which took 2 days fix correctly. Other than that, the room was clean, the service is excellent.

The hotel service personnel would come in room without knocking. This happened three time in three days. I was told there was a special deal for the use of club membership but was charged differently at end of check out.

Booked this hotel from the recommendation of my family. Upon arriving to the hotel, staff was very helpful with the bags and the check-in was great. We requested for King size bed but unfortunately the crew filming the new Bourne movie took over most of the hotel, so they did the next best thing, they've put together 2 double beds side by side, which really was no problem with us (our 2 infants sleeping with us). Had a bad experience with check in. Got to hotel at noon, check in was at 2:00, so we had lunch and came back. Staff was busy, so we went shoping and came back again. This time we were asked to wait in the sitting area, while the checked on our room. we waited 45 minutes, that lady never updated us. I went back to the check in desk again...finally 20 […] minutes later we got to our room, that smelled heavily of paint. we complained and the maintenace guy said it was an airfreshener (paint scented, i guess). we bith got strong headache, and had to go ask for another room. after we got in the new room everything was great. I stayed for 4 days and my room was never cleaned.Cockroach started crawling into the tea making cabinet the floors were filthy and water was leaking under the sink and they never changed my beddings!

You can tell this used to be a really great, fancy looking hotel. If you decide to stay, be prepared to lower your standards to accept that this hotel - especially in the guest rooms - has suffered wear and tear over the years. You cannot compare it or expect it to live up to newer Mandarin Oriental hotels. The service was also a little bit rough around […] the edges or stiff compared to other Mandarins I've been in. Could be a cultural thing or could be a lack of training. Polite enough but could learn a thing or two from the Mandarins in Hong Kong and Macau. I found the Mandarin in Manila was not as accommodating. Also, there were a lot of ants on the floor when I ate at their all day dining restaurant, Paseo Uno. Don't know how they got in but I feel they should not have been there since it is an indoor restaurant. It's still better than a lot of hotels I've stayed at - I'm just saying, don't expect it to be the same standard as other Mandarin Orientals. It's older, and it shows. Lees meer
