Super 8 Motel - Amarillo/Central in Amarillo

Oude kamers, oude badkamer en geen zwembad maar wel prijzig. Onze ervaringen met andere super 8 hotels zijn een stuk beter. Als het kan deze overslaan en kiezen voor een ander hotel in de omgeving.

Many, many hotels and motels are here along highway 40, so shop the prices!! This Motel 6 was just ok, the breakfast was just plain... plain. Also of note: non-chain restaurants all close at 10:30 pm, even on weekends! We missed out on dinner at Big Texan Steak Ranch because we arrived after 10. The room was nice and there was a large parking lot.

Room was great, breakfast was good. Great stop-over for a roadtrip

Older building in off-prime neighbourhood. Decent room, decent breakfast. Staff civil to helpful. Excellent price.

No problems with facilities or breakfast. Fair value for 3 seniors travelling on a pension. Booking on internet was easy for us too.

The staff was very helpful in providing for a late check-in. The breakfast was only ok. It is in a great location right next to I-40, so if you are in a road trip, this is a good stop. Good internet.

Worst motel EVER!!! Totally sketchy neighborhood right off of the freeway. No windows in the room. LOUD. All the furniture was metal, so it felt more like being in jail than a hotel...not recommended!

We were very satisfied with our room. We were traveling across country and it was great for one night. Staff is awesome, my husband left his wedding ring and the maid service had it. Love honest people.

The hotel staff at check in was very friendly and helpful. When we drove around the back to park the lot was very dark with lots of pot holes..a bit scary late at night..the handle to the entrance door in they back was lying on the ground making entry difficult. The hallway to the room smelled like an old casino with cigarette smoke. The room had strange […] all metal furniture and the free breakfast ends at 9:00 am on a Sunday morning. Clean hotel...worth the price..good service.polite owner

We were driving towards Amarillo and I used Hotels.com on my phone planning ahead. I use the website all the time and love it. I saw the price and thought it would be a great deal, as most Super 8 hotels are just fine. This one, however, is not. The rooms are not clean and everything is musty which is my real gripe. Room was super clean and for the price, it was a steal. Breakfast was more than I expected with eggs, biscuits, gravy, waffles, etc.

We've stayed at this hotel several times and each time left saying it is a good buy for the money. Before booking this recent stay I read several negative reviews, but we have never experienced ANY of the negative things mentioned. Our room was clean and comfortable and we heard no noises. The hot breakfast was delicious.

The room was comfortable, a large empty lot was nearby to take our dog outside and the room felt secure. The coffee pot didn't work.

My 5 yr old daughter and I moved from AZ to MO and stopped at the Super 8 Motel on west exit 72. The front desk night help was a pleasent woman, on the other hand the morning front desk staff obviously did not care about her place in customer service and was either texting on her cell phone or talking to some friend of hers rather than being attentive […] to the customers getting their breakfasts, but eh, not a huge deal. The room was very clean and had a lot of ammendities including a mini-fridge, a microwave, and a safe. The only truly icky part of it was the incredibly small parking lot. However, this location has the BEST continental breakfast I have ever seen. OJ and Apple juice, coffee, milk, scrambled eggs, bisquits and gravy, cereal, and DIY waffles (the waffle machine made cute, little Texas shaped waffles ^.^). Lees meer

The hotel is conveniently located right off of I-40E. There is no need for significant detour. When i arrived, the office was clean and the desk clerk was very helpful. When i arrived in the room, i noticed that it was a dark cave. I sat my computer down on the desk to find that all the plugs were tied up by either the microwave/fridge or television. […] I had to think long and hard about which was most important. As a business traveler, it is essential to have all the necessary things I would require without going a great distance to figure if I want either the television or my computer. Other than that, it was pleasant. They allowed me an extra half hour for a late checkout considering i arrived early that morning. For $20 less and 1/4 mile away you can go to the motel 6 and I’m sure they will have the plugs necessary. Lees meer

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone nor would I stay here again. Needs remodeling. Shower was rusting.

I declared my pets upon arrival and was told that the king no smoking room was not available for pets. Hotel.com app does not give the option to search/book with pets. Apparently you have to call the hotel to book. Of course the hotel phone number is not available on the app. Only room available was a room with 2 doubles and clerk said they would charge […] me more if we used both doubles. Room was not vacuumed, bathroom floor never mopped in its lifetime, carpet was so nasty my dogs would not sleep on it, bedspreads dirty and shabby. The light between the beds had a short and we had to jiggle the wire to get them to work. So not impressed and if we hadn't been soooo tired, we would have left. the only thing this room had going for it was clean sheets. When I complained the clerk shrugged her shoulders and indicated that was all that was available. I was checking in around 6:00p.m. so how is that possible? I suspect they have kennel rooms and put all pets in those rooms and never really clean them. Definitely do NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. Lees meer

Our stay was not bad for one night. The hotel is older but comfortable. The neighborhood isn't the best. Breakfast was real good. Eggs, waffles, good stuff. The enterence to the room was a litte too small and the bathroom sink small as well. The TV had a good variety of channels. The front desk could have been a little friendlier. This hotel was not upkept very nicely, the room was clean that is all I can say. The bed was very uncomfortable. In a terrible neighborhood, there was a man sleeping in a car in the parking lot. I called ahead of time to check the price of a small dog and when we checked in the front desk tried to charge us an additional $5.00 from what I was quoted […] on the phone. I DO NOT recommend this place... The hotel staff seemed aggravated we used Hotel.com and put us in a HOLE of a room with no windows. No elevator for upper floors even when I explained my husband had a bad leg. THEN the continental breakfast HAD to be eaten in the LOBBY in front of the staff. I guess so they could see we ate what we took, I could not […] take my husband breakfast in the room.. like we were 5 year olds and could not be trusted to eat in our room. We stayed in alot of Super 8's ( 6) on our vacation and this was the only REALLY BAD ONE! Lees meer

The rooms were very small, dark, sparsely furnished and the tv barely worked. Neither did the air conditioning but it was cool outside and somehow the outside air got inside. Windows would not open so the air wasn't coming in through the windows. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. We got about 2 hours of sleep altogether. The neighborhood was not […] the best. Unfortuntely for me, I left my purse in the breakfast area and it 'went missing'. Lost everything (money, credit cards, id, etc), including my cell phone which I tried calling. It was turned off immediately so I assume the person who took my purse did it with bad intentions. This is an awful place to stay. I'd feel safer sleeping in the car on the side of the highway. Hotel was clean and well-kept -- the lobby & halls, as well as the room. Room was fairly spacious. Beds were comfortable - good back support. Having a microwave, fridge, and table/chairs in the room was a nice touch. Plus, they had a crib for us to use with our baby -- THANK YOU!!!!! Also, having hot breakfast items (biscuits & gravy and scrambled eggs) […] in addition to the standard continental breakfast fare was a nice change. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Great job! Close to airport is the positive. The breakfast was adequate. The room was below par. Metal furniture, yes the head board, side table and desk were all metal. The microwave was dirty and balanced on top of a refrigerator I did not open. The light fixture in the bathroom was uncovered and the the fan made a terrible racket. I've stayed at this hotel a couple of times in the past month and it is a fairly good value for the price. The staff is friendly and accommodating. It's a bit older, and shows some signs of that, but is clean and with interior entries, I heard no interstate noise whatsoever. The beds are comfortable and the water pressure is pretty good in the shower. […] The breakfast is pretty good, and has the ultimate--Texas shaped waffles! We knew that when the Super 8 looked like our best choice for the money, we would not be looking at a luxury stay. Our first room was clean enough, but had an unmistakably moldy odor (likely from the AC unit). We asked to switch room, and the front desk was accomodating and pleasant, and even called someone in to check on the AC. The second room smelled […] much fresher, but was dark and unappealing. One towel had a hair on it (seemed to be from inside the wash, rather than an unklaundered towel), but the stay was decent enough to give us a good night's sleep before heading back to I-40. Still, given the amount we spent, we had far better stays in other parts of the country. Lees meer
