Yosemite Lodge at the Falls in Yosemite National Park

Great View - quiet and close to food and within walking distance to falls.

The hotel was convenient to all of the sights with a shuttle stop right in front. Be sure you ask for units away from the hotel lobby if you drive in, as parking is restricted due to tour bus unloading.

I think this only applies to some buildings/rooms within the hotel, but our room had a shutter-style window (where it's not a single piece of glass, but overlapping pieces that you can open and close). I think this would be fine most times of the year, but it was cold and snowed while we were there, so it was drafty and cold by this window.

We enjoyed our stay at YL. The only problem was the heater didn't work properly, and that made our brief stay a bit chillier than we liked. Otherwise, it's a wonderful destination.

Nearby the food court, a cozy room and a friendly rooms keeper . A nice experient in the lodge.

The room is old as we expected, but it wasn't bad. Great location, close to all foods and shopping....

We were in beautiful Yosemite Valley but our room at the lodge was in a construction zone, The thoermostat did not work so the room was a bit stuffy. Coffee was advertised as being in the room but there was not any. The person in room services told us when we called about the coffee is that was why we had a microwave! These rooms had NO microwave. The […] room needed a total revamp. Unfortunatly there are not many choices in the valley. Believe the star rating....this lodge in not much more than a 2. Lees meer

After coming here as a kid for several years and having been married at the Chapel, my wife and I visit Yosemite a few times a year mostly in the Winter to avoid the crowds. The Lodge is perfectly located for hiking to all points of the valley and is reasonably priced. Something to consider when you plan to visit, this last trip in February 2012 the […] Lodge had plenty of rooms available, and that's with some buildings being closed for maintenance. For the price we paid, it did not meet minimum qualifications. Electricity went out on half the room so aerie have TV or lights. The shower was either SCALDING or FREEZING so we could barely wash. The staff tried hard to work it out to no avail. I think we would have done better getting a tent cabin for a third of the price.

This hotel does not generally get good ratings in the guides I consulted, but I found it a very pleasant surprise. I was completely satisfied with the room and the service. It may be somewhat overpriced, but the location is so terrific that the price is excusable.

Very good stay. Room was confortable even simple, Facilities like food court and night bar are apropriated to this type of visit.

The Yosemite Lodge is old and a bit tired but the setting is spectacular. The location is perfect for those who do not want to camp out or stay in the much more expensive Grand Ahwahnee Lodge. Service was fine at check in and check out and at the food court and bar and grill.

Yosemite Lodge is close to all the attractions at Yosemite Natl. Park. It's a bit pricey for a two star hotel but I guess it's worth it for the convenience and more affordable than the other two bigger and more affluent hotels in the area.

The best family vacation we have had in a long time.

This hotel is perfect for its location and amenities. Not too fancy, but really nice for being in the Valley.

We stayed at Yosemite Lodge at the Falls for one night as part of our 2 week road trip. Am Im glad it was just for one night! Having read reviews before I left, I had a fair idea what I was getting myself into. I based my selection on the location as I did not have much time to play with. And yes it was in a great location. You could see the main falls […] and it was just a 3 - 5 minute walk from them. Thats where the positives end. We booked the delux room and got a room with a King Single and a single bed. So obviously they had to be joined together for us to sleep. We did mention we were there on our Anniversary. One of the exterior windows had been replaced by a piece of cardboard! Very romantic! The rooms are very outdated and rustic. We had issues with our dinner that we had at the bistro. (They have a more expensive restaurant which would be recomended. In hindsight should have eaten there) One of the meals that we ordered came out completely wrong. Also the breakfast in the buffett style venue was pretty ordinary. Overall if you dont have much time on your hands and you are just spending one night to see the falls, this place will suffice and you will be able to cope here. But I think anytime more than that or you need a little bit of luxury, I definately wouldnt recomend this place for you. Lees meer

This rustic hotel is in an amazing location, central to Yosemite Valley and many key Yosemite services. Its age shows, but it is clean and the staff is extraordinarily caring and courteous. We would certainly return.

Perfect location right beside the Falls.

We couldn't ask for anything less than what the Lodge had to offer. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Pointing us into the right direction to catch the shuttle to points-of-interest. The place was in a beautiful setting. We're planning another trip to Yosemite in the Summer! Hope to stay at the Lodge again.

Simply a delightful experience. Darling rustic room adjacent to Yosemite Falls, the tallest in the nation. Good food, relaxing bar with fireplace. GO AND STAY AWHILE!

Excellent location. Room nice and warm from cold outside. Yosemite Mountain Room Lodge Room has a beautiful fire to have a glass of wine next to!

We booked this hotel as a more budget friendly place to stay for a friend's wedding at the Awahanee Hotel. It was a charming hotel and very clean. It is obviously an older hotel but it had the ammenities that you would need (except for a good TV chanel selection but who needs that in Yosemite!)

Took a while to get my room key because the room was not ready. The room was marginal and the bed/sheets/pillows were not the most comfortable but decent enough for two night stay. The staff were helpful when needed. Would I stay there again? Maybe for a lower price than I paid.

Our room was on the ground floor with a walk out to grassy area having beautiful view of upper Yosemite falls. Although Lodge is not new, the rooms are comfortable. I understand the lodge is currently being updated in stages. The location of the Lodge is the most appealing given that it's in Yosemite Valley where there are few other choices for nice […] yet affordable accommodations. We got free coffee coupons at check in, so you do have to go out to get your coffee in the morning....but the lattes are free with the coupon, so worth it. Lees meer

The hotel room we stayed in was in desperate need of renovation. It might have been clean, but it felt dirty because it was so old (grime inbetween tub tiles, rust in sink, etc.). We were warned about leaving food out because of bears, but nothing was mentioned about mice. We woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of an animal in our backpack […] (which contained some food). The second we lifted the pack to put it outside, a mouse came flying out! I reported this to the front desk the next morning and was told "well, you ARE in Yosemite". They offered to set traps which we declined. Our room was directly across from the lodge, which was very convenient to the food court and provided a spectacular view. Pancakes were great and we had a nice meal in the Mountain Room. Would not recommend anyone stay here - the Yosemite View Lodge in El Portal is close enough with great rooms (we stayed in the new Sequoia building) which was like the Ritz Carlton compared to the Yosemite Lodge. One doesn't go to Yosemite Valley to stay in a hotel. One's lodging serves as an indoor base camp from which to explore the surroundings. For that purpose, Yosemite Lodge at the Falls serves admirably. Visitors who expect the kind of accommodations they'd get in a modern urban hotel, however, will want to know that we found many signs of long-deferred […] maintenance. Several things in our so-called Deluxe room didn't work. Two windows facing the main building and parking area wouldn't shut, admitting noise from trucks at night. (Will these be fixed before winter?) Part of the louver arrangement next to the balcony was broken. Adjusting the thermostat didn't perceptibly change the room temperature. The key to the wall safe was missing. No provision was made for closing the bathtub drain--and after a day of hiking, I want to soak my feet. Speaking of bathtubs, the shower head was old and inefficient, despite management's expressed concern for water conservation. The Standard room we stayed in a few months earlier had the same kind. Replacing these shower heads with water-saver ones that enable a needle spray would result in lowered water usage and better-rinsed guests. Bedding, towels, porcelain fixtures, and tiled floor areas were clean. Alas, I can't say the same for the carpeted floor area. It had numerous pieces of visible debris that vacuuming would have picked up. Another detail about cleanliness: the screen on the exhaust end of the hair dryer contained a goodly accumulation of previous guests' hairs. Choices for meal service in the immediate area are few. The Mountain Room (dinner only) serves excellent food, but it's expensive. The Food Court is open during more of the day and charges lower prices. Its offerings are not gourmet, but adequate if you're not too fussy. The Food Court does breakfast better than it does dinner. An option in between the Mountain Room and the Food Court, on quality and price, would be nice to have, or slightly better dinners at the Lees meer

This was great accommodation. We were in the handicapped room and if you are travelling with someone in a wheelchair, this is the place for you. The bathroom was really good to navigate and a huge roll in shower - only problem is you can only book a king bed with the roll in shower room (you can get a roll away bed however), which seems to be common […] in the US. The room was quite modern and has a designated carpark. The only thing to remember when booking this hotel is check in isn't until 5pm and there are big queues at this time. No huge problem, but something to keep in mind when planning your trip. I would definitely recommend the Yosemite Lodge. Lees meer

We couldn't have asked for anything better for our stay in the Yosemite area. This property offers breath taking views of the valley while providing a clean affordable place to lodge. My only complaint would be that the appetizer menu in the lounge area could use a potato skin upgrade.

We enjoyed our stay, however the room in which we stayed was located near the road. Windows needed to kept open for fresh air, which brought in the sounds of cars going by. not cool.

Sure it's rustic, but it's the Yosemite Lodge. The rooms are basic rooms that do the job. They are clean and comfortable. The beds are ordinary hotel beds. You get to park for free (which solves a hassle of its own on busy days). You can walk to the lower falls with a small child. What more could you ask for?

Lodge needs a lot of updating. It was clean and close to everything you want to see in Yosemite. Front desk staff was very nice.

The room that we stayed in was in shambles. The curtains had tears in them, there were two rectangular holes in the wall facing the patio (each the size of an air-conditioning unit) that were covered with cardboard. The towels were gray colored with overuse and abuse (they must have been white at some point). The areas of the carpet that were under […] furniture like a desk or chair had an inch of dust. In short, the place was a disaster, a total shame in the middle of one of the most gorgeous natural wonders in the world!!! The hotel was in the perfect location in the park with a shuttle right at the door. Great selection of food within the hotel for families and reasonably priced would come back again. Thanks

This is not the Awhanee. It's not the Hilton. It is Yosemite Lodge, and it's location and nearby amenities more than make up for a slightly rustic room. I had reserved two queen beds but was assigned two doubles, the clerk was able to find me a different room. The staff were extremely courteous and professional. The room was reasonably clean, the beds […] very clean and comfy. Lotion/soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers are convenient in the bathroom, wall mounted hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Very limited TV channels, with focus on Discovery, Animal Planet and the like. The Mountain Lounge for cocktails and Mountain Room for dinner were lovely...get there early to get a window table with a view of the Falls. Another plus was free Internet. There is a small general store right there so you don't have to hassle with the parking at the Village and we found some adorable souvenirs for our granddaughter as well as snacks. Yosemite Lodge at the Falls is located at the base of the falls. The falls are approximately 15 minutes away on a leisurely paved walk. The Lodge is a great location for hikes, photos and visits to Yosemite. Parking was very accessible and the rooms have great views of the park. The room we stayed in had a patio with chairs for a nice sunset view. The […] only down side is the room decorations and construction. The rooms are older with 70's style color, bedspreads and light fixtures. The bathrooms are high traffic style bathrooms, with worn fixtures and sinks. Like many older hotels, the walls have many layers of paint to cover up grim and dirt, grout in the tile was covered with more grout to hide the mildew. The counter tops are worn and outdated. The towels were very rough and were in need of replacing or fabric softener. The Lodge is a great location but it is in desperate need of new carpet, towels, and fixtures. Since youre not in the room much, its a great opportunity to see the national forest. Lees meer

This lodge was a motel style accommodation near the base of Yosemite Falls. The room was perfectly adequate in all respects, and the food at the Mountain Room in the lodge was excellent !! This lodge was a great place to use as a "base camp" for exploring the Yosemite Valley. We didn't have to use our car at all during our two days in the Valley.

The Lodge's biggest asset is its central location to virtually everything. Food at the food court was reasonably tasty. Mountain House Restaurant was also excellent. The room itself is quite old. Things are worn -- stained shower curtain, cracked tiles, broken faucet handles, etc. All worked, but everything is used way passed their usable life. Having […] said that, one does not come to Yosemite and pay this price to stay in a hotel room. In fact, we love the location and don't mind paying for it. I loved the room - beamed ceilings, sliding glass door to balcony. Small beds, but no room for queens! What a location - a 3 minute walk to Yosemite Falls. You cannot beat it!
