I booked this hotel over others because I trust Marriott and like their customer service-but that wasn't the case. I feel that overall it was an ok experience, the hotel was old- but so is everything in Miami Beach and South Beach. When we checked in, they tried to give us a room with a city view, which we were booked for an ocean-front view. I had […] to show three different people my Hotels.com booking information, then the manager (who was HORRIBLY rude) came over and said, well we won't have a room for an hour. They stated they would call in when the room was ready and put our stuff in valet. Three hours later we wondered back to see if we had a room as we received no call. Finally, we got into our selected room only to encounter a toilet full of human waste which began to overflow. And it took the cleaning crew about 30 minutes to get it going. After all that, the rest of the visit was good and the General Manager was an amazing help to us when we checked-out to our next destination. This hotel is a little distance from all of the action of South Beach which was nice for us because we were there for the sun! Cab rides were only $6 to all of the action. If you are there for beach this is a good place to stay. If you are there for clubbing, you better go futher south! Lees meer

Not happy at all for the price I paid. Check in to hotel..only to find out the pool was under construction, never mentioned on site. Next room they assigned had a view of the roof AC unit. Went down to front desk to ask for a new room...with a actual view. Moved to new room...went downtown had a great dinner. Then woke up to maid service pounding on […] our door at 7:30, when check out wasn't until 11:00...woke everyone up. Told them we weren't checking out until 11. Came back 2 more times...so rude. The room was so small. It said beach view, they didn't mention that most of your view was construction and there are peeping toms trying to look through your window.

Beware! - I booked the hotel and paid a premium for the ocean front room. This was a mistake. I knew that the hotel was under construction but I was on the top floor facing the ocean and there was a building with construction workers 20 feet from my window blocking the Ocean view. Construction guys right outside the window, all day long. Had to keep […] everything closed. This was not disclosed and no alternative was offered by check in staff. The room I had should have been discounted, not a more expensive. The pool was completely closed and access to the beach was from the front doors. Very disappointed. Our disappointment could have been avoided easily a more transparent disclosure of the construction and by some form of compensation - different room, reduced rate, future credit.. something? Nothing was offered. That aside, the Hotel is really nice, room was fine, staff were fantastic, location great. I don't think is fair to pay full price for an hotel that has most of the amenities under construction. To use the pool I was recommended to take a shuttle to go to another hotel a few miles away. Mu husband and I have a 7 month old baby so we were very concerned about travelling with the baby but Courtyard by Marriott made our stay easy and enjoyable. We've stayed at several hotels in Miami but have never seen such amazing customer service. They also provided us with a crib for the baby and anything else we requested. They were always willing […] to help. Their restaurant is very clean and their food is good! They have a nice pool area for those who don't want to go to the beach. Being an oceanfront hotel, their is a long board walk that can be easily access through the hotel for a morning jog or walk along the beach. They have free internet access and free coffee in the lounge. For those starbucks lovers, you can also buy starbucks coffee in the hotel. Our stay at the Marriot was fabulous. I only had a one night stay booked, but when it was check out time I wanted to book the rest of the week! All staff greeted me and my girlfriend in a courteous manner. The first thing that was offered to us were complimentary sundaes, with all the works. Room was crisp and clean, did not find one thing dirty or […] out of place. A complimentary bottle of water on the desk was just what I needed after being on the road for a couple of hours. Staff was helpful in helping me with valet parking, which had a flat rate. Also the staff was helpful with any other questions I had, like how to get a cab. There was a Carraba's restaurant on location, but me and my girlfriend didnt go down to eat because the bed and room were so comforting and allowed us to have some quality, private time. We did go down for the breakfast offered, which had all the fixing for all appetites and used the Carraba's on location to serve it. The pool was heated, which was a plus in the Februrary. Prime location, close to South Beach but not too close. I booked my room for a Saturday night and it was a quite night all the way through.Cant say enough great things about the hotel experience worth every penny and much more!! Lees meer

I am somewhat disappointed because the hotel is in a construction stage. We were not informed of the construction, so we are disappointed in Expedia for not informing us. We have traveled with Expedia before, however I think you dropped the ball with this booking.

There is an extension being constructed on site. Around the pool, tiki bar and the ocean facing rooms, this is very loud and annoying, especially in the mornings. consistent with a Marriot , centrally located with easy access from mainland and a Carrabbas and a Starbucks and a little grocery across the street . Not a hotel that would blow your hair back but clean and on the beach.

The staff was very nice, there is a Carrabba's Italian Grill attached to the hotel that allows you to charge your dinner to your room if you want. They also are the outdoor bar/grill by the pool, and will take/bring orders to you while on the beach. The beach is public, but still nice. Chairs are pricey! $30/day and a lounge style vinyl bed for $200/day. […] We opted for pool towels and sat on them. Parking is $32/day and you really have no choice because there is no parking in the area. There is major construction going on right next to pool, not sure if they are dismantling or rebuilding a structure but it was not pleasant with noise, drilling and large crane operating right next to pool. Efrain at front desk was excellent! Friendly, informative, attentive. We received a welcome mimosa upon check in and the waiter at poolside Carraba's, Chris, was a sweetheart! I did choose this Marriott b/c I am a rewards member and rates were reasonable for this time of year. My room was clean and comfortable and I would stay again. The Hotel itself was nice. There is construstion still going on so a bit noisy and dusty with wind blowing when laying by the pool, trying to enjoy something to eat in the outside bar. I understand that this is happing because of the new tower being added which when finish will be very nice. Hope to visit and stay there again when all is done.

We booked this hotel for it's proximity to the beach. The room was spacious with a balcony and we were comfortable for the whole of our 11 night stay. The staff were helpful and quickly sorted out a board to put under my husbands half of the bed as he did find it too soft. We used the valet parking which we found easy and convenient and preferable to […] the hassle of topping up a meter. The breakfast buffet was good and set us up for the day. This was our worst experience ever staying in a hotel room. We paid premium price for a ocean view room but were offered a room facing the construction. The staff didn't know ABC of customer service. The experience was so bad that we checked out after second night (even though we have pre paid for 3 nights and were planning to stay for 5-6 nights). […] This was not only waste of money but it spoiled our Christmas holidays and gave a bad bad taste of Miami in our first visit there. They tried to charge us for valet paring and asked us for a proof of car park else they HAVE TO charge the CC. Very disappointing. It seemed that the staff was all out to rob you. Had to change hotels on 12/30 and booked the Courtyard at 7:00 pm. My husband and I were upset by our experience at the originally booked hotel (Howard Johnson) so we walked out on our reservation and made a last minute booking. We were not disappointed. We were 3 students and we stayed in a double room. Room was cozy and comfortable. We could see the pool from the room but we couldn't see the beach. It was really close to the beach but it was pretty far from south beach. Not so many restaurants around the hotel so we had to go to south beach by taxi or by foot. It took almost 50min to south beach by […] foot, $10 by cap. I liked the swimming pool so much, the deepest part was 8 feet and we really enjoyed in the pool. I stayed @ the Marriott for a night before returning back home after my cruise. All I can say is: I wish I could've @ least spent one more day! The hotel is within 7 mins drive to downtown Miami with tons of shopping & nightlife! It was amazinggggg! Also, there is such a beautiful public beach in the back where you can see the cruise ships out on the […] sea. The rooms are clean, the service is great. The front desk staff is very helpful considering it was my first time in Miami. She told us about good restaurants in the are and where shopping was. Whatever the staff communicate to us we learned could not be trusted at all. We left one iphone in the bar at our table by mistake, 4 hours later my wife call down to the bar , and report it, after a long waiting they call back and say : Sorry no Iphone was not found, and they will contact us if it shows up. Simultaneous I go down and talk to the manager, […] and he says yes they have 2 iphones in the office, and he came back with mine. I go to my room where my wife is very upset, due to she just was told that no iphone was not found that day. They say when you check in there is wifi all over and it is free, so our big disappointment it does not work at 5 floor at all , Then I have to go to their business center where there only 3 computers one does not work, one is for airlines tickets only and the last one is occupied, very inconvenient and unprofessional. Finally I get access to the only working computer in the business center, only to find out that the hotel have barred their computer not to allow to open a simple PDF file, so I could not open my e-ticket in my hotmail .
