America's Best Value Inn in Madison Heights

Hard bed, brick for a pillow, not clean, old, no service, guy at counter never got off his phone and just grunted "sign" for me to sign the paper. Breakfast? Burnt coffee and a stale muffin.... You're booking this hotel because its the cheapest one..... Don't kid yourself into thinking you're getting a deal, you're not. Cheap hotel for a cheap price […] for a reason.... Lees meer

The microwave oven in the room didn't work. The sheets on the bed were a dingy yellow, and the room had a stale smell. The bathroom door had a blank space where a full-length mirror had once been mounted. Only one wash cloth provided with bath linens. The complimentary continental breakfast had very little to offer -- no cereal or milk, and no fresh […] coffee had been brewed. English muffins, bagels, and waffles were the only food. A sign said that breakfast must be eaten in the breakfast room; food couldn't be carried to your room (the first time I ever ran into such a restriction). The condition of the hotel was horrendous. The only thing that was clean were the sheets on the bed. The drapes were ragged and not hung on one end and the sofa bed had a large tear in the fabric. Sign in office said "No Smoking" rooms but the hallways and rooms wreaked of tobacco and some of the hallway window sills had cigarette butts in them. We […] were afraid to walk across the carpet in the room in our bare feet. It appears that part of the hotel is used for long term residences, like apartments. Many of the windows and glass doors looked like they had not been cleaned for weeks. The overall conditon of the buildings was very poor, and not well maintained. Price was too good to be true. Run down and dirty.

The only reason I stayed there is because it was the only room available in the area and it was close to Lynchburg Va. The lobby smelled bad. There was a whole in the ceiling in the bathtub that was patched with masking tape that was hanging down. The locks on both exit doors that lead to the hallway were both broken. I went to the lobby for a bottle […] of water remembering that there was a machine there when checking in but when asked the attendant he laughed ind said they never have it filled. I learned a lesson to make reservations in advance and i wouldn't stay in this place again Lees meer

This is not a value hotel worth staying in. The hotel was in disrepair and not very clean. It was convenient in location to Lynchburg, but that is all I can say that was nice about it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The structure was dogged, the halls were filthy, tthe exterior door had no security feature -- the lock was actually punched out of the door. The room was not throroughly vacuumed. The furniture was a mish mash of what seemed like yardsale buys from the 70s. I felt unsafe in the room. I stayed 3 minutes and left.

when i first turned the lights on i saw 2 roaches on the dresser, floors weren't vaccumed, i didn't get the room that i paid for, i was supposed to get a double bed with a sitting room with a couch and the sitting roon didn't exist, the coffee pot was broked and there was an odor in the room. we looked for the breakfast that was supposed to be offered […] but didn't see any. there was 3 inches of mold on the bottom of the shower curtain. i will never stay tghere again and absolutely wouldn't recomend it to anyone Lees meer

My husband and I have stayed in many hotels over the years and we both agreed that this is the worst hotel that we have ever stayed in!!! The smell was horrible and the room was not clean. I had booked this hotel for my family because of the pool and sofa bed in the room, after arriving my husband was extremly mad that the room had no sofa bed and we had to be put into another room for our children to have a place to sleep. The pool was used as a community pool were people can pay to swim all day, which made for a wide aray of people. […] The room smelled really moldy and there is no ac on in the hallway of the hotel, it was very hot. The wallpaper was pelling and the carpets had not been cleaned or vacummed in a while, if I had not promised my kids a pool for the night we would have asked for our money back. I had to show my husband the pictures online because he thought I was crazy for booking this dump, but when he seen the pictures he said "they must have been taken 10 years ago". They were mowing the grass and didnt even pick the trash up, just mowed right over it. Lees meer

We were very satisfied with this hotel, other that the bed was not enough room for two people. And was suppose to have free internet, but was not able to get on line , even with the password the the MGR. gave us. The Mgr. there at the time was very friendly and very helpful..

so run downed. smelled from dampness and smokeing. lightbulbs out, not all outlets worked, smerred t.v. and mirrors. Absolutly ridicous to pay an awfull amount of money, for what?

I was traveling to Lynchburg for a debate tournament and only need an overnight stay for myself and my team. The site claimed each room had a bed and sofa bed. I figured two debaters in each room since they would get their own bed. When we arrived, there were no sofa beds and only one twin bed in each room. I was absolutely livid at being so misled. […] The room is very out of date, furniture was all mismatched, and management did really seem to care about helping us out. My wife and I travel to the Lynchburg area quite a few times a year to see our daughter who attends Randolph College. We have stayed in numerous hotels in the area and by far this is the worst place in the area. What a dump. Room Patio Door jammed the carpet and Curtains were filthy and the rug was wet. The bathroom was decent but also dirty. The hallways […] had cracked walls with no paint and the hotel grounds just terrible. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy, period. Lees meer
