Diablo Mountain Inn in Walnut Creek

Staff was very friendly. They answered all my questions. They printed out Mapquest directions for me. Room was kept spotless. Located within 5-6 mile of the assisted living facility at which my uncle was a resided.

Great little place in a great city, clean old school motel with friendly & helpful staff.

Perfect location and great room..

Front desk clerk dissappeared for 15 minutes. Had to wait to check in. Hotel/room are practically under the highway and are very dated. Noisy-Aside from the highway, you can hear every footstep, creek of the bed or toilet run from the room above you or on either side. The heater/air units are very loud. If you have a car, this may become your favorite place to stay in the East Bay area. This Inn is an older motel property that has retained many charming features: ivy with trunks the size of your wrist lining the walkways, a puzzle always underway in the lobby and kindly staff. There's an expanded continental breakfast, very reasonable rates, a benign […] neighborhood and free parking. Although I suppose you could taxi from the Walnut Creek BART, this is a place to stay when you have a car. There's a gas station across the street and it's right off a highway exit. We stayed at the Diablo Mountain Inn for one night when we took our son to college. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable enough, and the price was great! It's no frills, but we were there only to sleep. And the wireless was FREE!

The Diablo Mountain Inn is an older "motel" style hotel, but it is clean and close to local area freeways. Also, it is within walking distance to a fun downtown Walnut Creek area with shops and a graet choice of excellent restaurants. I liked the proximity to the freeways and restaurants!

We visited friends in Rossmoor. This was very convenient. A nice moderate cost hotel. The breakfast was minimal, but enought for us. I'd stay there again.

Good location for the freeways although a little too close as noise from the traffic is a little annoying. BART station about 15mins walk. Walnut Creek has a very comprehensive shopping area which surprised me. Comfortable room. Free WiFi does not work if you are too far from the office but cables are supplied if needed. I saw all the reviews and wondered how nice could this place be. I'm famillar with the area and knew of this place but never concidered it. It is a very old, small place. Maybe 20 rooms, all but a few on the street level. For some reason they had t put me in one room then change me the next day. Both rooms had wires attached to the wall going out holes […] in the wall. One, had the thermostat wire running around the doorway barely hanging onto the wall. The furniture looked like the same as we had when I was a kid. Very old, nothing matched. The best way I can describe the room was maybe that spare room your grandmother had for guests with all the leftover furniture. As far as comfort, it was fine. The location is decent. It is near a major fwy but the noise was never an issue. The pool is smack in the middle of the very small parking lot. You actually have to drive around it! Lees meer

Great proximity to downtown area. The lady at the front desk was nice and helpful. The bed was not comfortable and my wife freaked out because there was a bug in it when we pulled back the sheets. The air conditioner was also not working properly.

The front desk lady was the best ever. The location is great and very convenient to everything.

Loved it here, clean, comfortable and in GREAT price in great area! Will go back for Thanksgiving!

Our room was very basic but came with a small frig and a microwave. The bed was very uncomfortable but we have stayed here before and know that not all of the beds are like the one we had this visit. The service is excellent and they really want you to have a good stay so they are very accomodating. It is nice to find a place that is welcoming to dogs […] as we often travel with ours. We have a dog and they are very welcoming which is greatly appreciated. The rooms show signs of wear and age but they are pretty comfortable. Some of them could use a vanity or shelf next to the sink for convenience. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. It is located within walking distance of downtown Walnut Creek which we consider a perk. […] We stay regularly and would recommend it for someone not looking for five star accomodation but clean comfort and good service at a reasonable price point. From driving in to departure four days later, the staff was a delight to deal with. They took care of me and were friendly and good natured, I needed freeway access, close proximity to my job and a hassle free visit. They gave all of that with a smile. We stayed in Room 101, set up for handicapped and also reserved for dogs. I liked the shower (mulitiple shower heads and flush with floor). Bed was comfortable. Everything worked. It was clean. The desk had stuff for the dog. It is really convenient from Lafayette. What more is there to wish for? Oh, yes. A decent hotel, probably a few decades old but with some updated amenities: rooms are small but clean and fairly comfortable, nothing luxurious. Wi-fi in rooms is advertised but not functional, cables can be loaned which may help with some devices. Neighborhood is quite nice, convenient to highway access. Worst issue was the office gave away one of […] our rooms to a new guest the night before we checked out, resulting in people entering the room (with key) while we slept; this is an unforgivable error no hotel should be capable of. Excellent location for our needs, clean, with courteous staffs, but will not go there again. Freeway traffic noise is excessive and heater was loud and would cycle on and off all night.

Diablo Mountain Inn was the closest hotel to the city center and more importantly it also was just near the place of our conference building. In addition, Traders Joe, Tier 1 and other stores for shopping were less than a block away. So, the hotel is in a very good location for any visits to the Walnut Creek and Lafeyette areas.

While the hotel was a little noisy early in the morning (garbage pick up) the evening was quite and the area was very convenient and quaint. We walked to several great restaurant choices. This hotel is not fancy, but clean and very adequate. I would stay again.

The freeway noise is very loud and it was almost like being at a race track. Also, my mattress was very hard and the pillows too thin. I was awake most of the night - not a good place to sleep.
