Marriott Cambridge in Cambridge

Toen we de prijs zagen van het ontbijtbuffet hadden we al besloten om dat niet te doen. In de ontbijtzaal van dit hotel kun je echter ook a la carte ontbijten en dat bleek een goede zet. Je kiest bijvoorbeeld eggs any style voor 7 dollars en je krijgt eieren, bacon of sausages en aardappelen en koffie zo veel je wilt. Verder stonden er bagelplate, breakfastcroissant […] met eieren, toast, fruityoghurt, continental breakfast etc op het menu. Keuze genoeg. Alleen de cornflakes met melk waren erg duur 8 dollar 50! Het is een gezellige ontbijtzaal en niet te druk. We ontbeten iedere morgen rond 9 uur. De kamer werd wel gepoetst maar onder het bed niet genoeg. We hadden een kamer bij een binnenplaats en het uitzicht was nul. Maar daarvoor kom je niet naar New York. De airco werkte uitstekend. De mensen in het hotel waren behulpzaam. De ligging is goed. I liked it a lot. The downside for us is that free wifi service is available in the lobby but must be purchased in the room. That was quite inconvenient for our 3 night stay. Otherwise it was a nice physical environment and all staff were pleasant and helpful.

I picked this hotel mainly because it was across the street from the T, which was very helpful, we parked in the nearby garage and took the train everywhere we needed to go, which was mainly Fenway Park and Faneuil Hall. The hotel itself was very beautiful and the surrounding area was nice to. I do wish the hotel had been more prepared to have 4 guests […] in one room in regards to providing the amount of beds I originally requested and the apporiate amount of towels for all the guests but if you are a 4 family or two person party I would defintely reccommend staying here if you're looking to tour around the Boston area. We came all the way from New Jersey so getting to stay in a nice hotel that had comfortable beds and was at a convenient location made our trip even better! Lees meer

On my most recent trip to Boston with my best friend, we stayed in this hotel. Not only were the employees very friendly, but the room and hotel in general were amazingly clean. The view is awesome from the rooms, and MIT is right by there. Also, the T station is literally in front of the hotel, which makes traveling into Boston itself, from Cambridge, […] that much easier. We were there for St. Patrick's Day weekend, and even at night, all we could hear was quiet in the hotel (versus the loud, boisterous crowds downtown). Parking was inexpensive (for Boston) for non-valet parking, and it is on site, even though the website says otherwise. There is also always valet parking. Ordered double room from hotels.com. When we arrived @ 12:00AM. It is said that not available. And the room was occupied and the guest was supposed to leave the second day. The second day, checked for more than three times. In the morning, said they has not leave. @ 12:00 noon, said has not leave, @ 1:00PM, said it was gone. So you never be able to […] get double room. The bathroom was very small with the door barely clearing the toliet. The mattress was uncomfortable and caused us to roll into the center. The view was beautiful. With wifi being available in most restaurants and hotels, it is disappointing to stay at a nice hotel and have to pay for it.

I have stayed at the Cambridge Marriott a handful of times over the years and always have a great experience. The hotel is conveniently location just one stop from Boston and right near the Charles River if you are up for a walk. The staff is always friendly and the beds are super comfy.

Perfect for visiting MIT Near the T And good restaurants

Only stayed for 1 night, but a great stay. Room was large, clean and comfortable. I ordered room service and was very happy with the food. Quite reasonably priced as well.

Great location the T is across the road nice resturant in the hotel, great rooms and view.

The location can't be beat as there's a subway station literally right outside of the hotel. The hotel also doesn't seem to be a far walk across the Charles River into Boston. Hotel room and lobby decor was not extraordinary, but I was impressed by the comfort of the bed, the size of the room/bathroom and the view--went during the Fall, so I had a great […] view of Fall foliage at the MIT campus. (And I'm sure the other side of the hotel facing the river would also be great.) There didn't seem to be too much around the hotel besides MIT, but I didn't really bother to explore because of time constraints. Marriott Cambridge was clean, quiet, comfortable, and had all the amenities one could ask for. In addition, all of the hotel personnel were extremely nice, friendly, and helpful. I would love to stay there again.

Great hotel. Great price. Excellent location. Very close to city centre. Hotel includes jacuzzi pool and fitness room. Guest services amazing. Would definitely recommend.

While the hotel was nice, I expected basics such as a mini refrigerator to store some drinks and left overs.

Surely the most quiet hotel I have ever stayed in. Comfortable room and convenient to the T station.

Really good hotel, Big rooms, great bed, big TV and nice views. The bathroom was clean and well equipped. Had room service one night and did not disappoint. Over all it a very nice hotel, I would stay in again and recommend to friends.

My original guest room had great view but smelled like a damp musty basement. I suspected that it was due to water leakage into that room because hallways did not smell that way. So requested a change of rooms. Unfortunately, next two rooms shown were not much better. Might have been better if fooms were well aired out but unfortunately all windows […] are sealed shut. Staff member donfided that they had just had work done on the ventilation system because of similar past problems. Unfortunately, it appears the remedy did not work. The Hotel is adjacent to the Boston MBTA Subway Red line making it a very convenient location to stay. The Boston Commons, starting point for the Freedom Trail, is just two subway stops away from the hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Cambridge. The hotel met our family's needs for the night. It was close to relatives we were visiting in Boston as well as to the sights we wanted to visit.

The view from our room was beautiful of the whole boston area. The room was clean. I called the consierge to see if they had a little store in the lobby where I could purchase toothpaste and they offered to bring some to my room with a toothbrush. It was there within 10-15 mins. I chose this Marriott because I was looking for a hotel close to Fenway Park. The hotel was big and very nicely decorated. Overall, my stay was a pleasant one. Everyone who worked at the hotel was very nice and pleasant, including the valet, front end check in person, maids, and the concierge. Even the waiter in Champions, the attached restaurant, […] went out of his way to make my dining experience a pleasurable one. I brought the family so we stayed in a room with two double beds. Early check-in was no problem. It states check in is at 4:00, but we arrived in Boston at 1:15 and a room was ready for us. The room appeared clean and tidy. My only issue with the cleanliness was that upon entering the room my allergies went crazy. My eyes began to itch like mad. I don't know what it was, exactly. The room appeared to be fine, and I didn't notice any musty smell or anything, but something crushed my eyes. The room, as I stated, had two double beds. The bed my wife and I slept in was very soft and comfortable, but it tended to sink in the middle a bit, as we were always "pulled to the middle". Overall, though, the stay was just fine, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the location to Fenway was just a short train ride away. A big plus is that the train stop is literally right in front of the hotel!!! Perfect for us as we don't know our way around Boston very well! Lees meer

This hotel just didn't live up to the Marriott name. I booked a room with two double beds through hotels.com, but when we checked in, there were no double-bed rooms left and we had to make do with a king and a pull-out couch (definintely NOT the most comfortable of sleeping conditions). Apparently, booking a particular type of room through hotels.com […] is not a guarantee. The hotel itself did not have a working bar or restaurant (we stayed the Fri-Sun of Labor Day weekend); there was a Champions sports pub adjacent which was mediocre at best. Actual bed (not pull out couch) was comfortable. TV cable service did not have a 'guide' function so had to scroll through all channels. Employees were friendly enough. Valet parking was full so we were forced to use the public lot next door where we were charged for every in/out and which rate was six dollars more than the valet parking with unlimited in/out privileges. Wonder how many spots the hotel actually has for valet parking....Overall, not a first-rate hotel. I expected better. Lees meer

$17 a day for WiFi, what a ripoff. hotel was ok but nothing special.

Only complaint is that the elevators are slow.

Had requested early check in. Upon arrival only one person manned the front desk creating a line of customers at 3:45 pm. At that time our Early check in room was not even ready, even though regular check in was 4:00 pm. They attempted to reach housekeeping to check on the room cleaning status, but they were not available. Room type requested was also […] not available. The room was nice but the bathroom vanity/countertop was smallish in size for a room that was supposed to be for 3 people. Also, I believe I was supposed to have a sofabed and microwave in the room, which I didn't have.

Overall good hotel. Valet parking worth the price. Train and trolley stations very close, wonderful convienance. Only drawback was couldn't open window for fresh air in room. Also, no fridge in room, didn't check to see if it was included but it seems even most budget hotels have a frdge included.

The Marriott Cambridge was clean and comfortable, and adequately priced for the neighborhood (not cheap, but Boston isn't cheap). The bed was extremely comfortable!! The surrounding area definitely doesn't feature any notable landmarks (it's a commercial neighborhood), but the T is just outside the door, so it's really convenient to get around. There […] are also several restaurants and shops within walking distance. They were doing construction on the exterior of the hotel, and they made a point to warn us about that, but we never heard any noise (though we stayed on a Saturday night, so maybe that was the reason). This hotel in Cambridge was less $ than staying downtown or Back Bay area. Subway was just across the street. We were 2 or three stops from everywhere we wanted to go. A Cosi, Starbucks and Au Bon Pain right near property. Our King Room with sofa bed was extremely large. Corner room had a nice view and design of corriders was excellent in that it was […] very quiet! We would stay here again! Close to the subway (real close). Short hoof, easy walk from the mall (Cambridge Galleria). Free "buffet" breakfast was great! Don't bring a car. Too expensive to park. 25-30 minutes by train to Fenway, North End. 10 minutes by train to start of the Freedom Trail.

I want to know what they use to soundproof the rooms. They're completely adjacent to each other and yet, on a Thursday and Friday night, I heard NOTHING from anyone else's room. The beauteous silence alone was enough to make me want to return as a guest. Other bonuses: air conditioning on 100+ degree days in Boston, a spacious room with a gorgeous waterfront […] view and comfortable furnishings. Recommended. I will stay again in the future. Though full to capacity and very busy, perhaps understaffed, every staff member we encountered was cheerful, helpful and friend.
