Carlton Tower Hotel in Dubai

I needed Internet access during my 4 days stay so I specially booked this room which had FREE WIFI included. At my arrival, I was told this was an error by the agent (Expedia) and that WIFI access would be charged if required. Excellent for the Gold Souk and for the Creek. Didn't notice hotel had been done up, little bit tired but still good value compared to prices around. Radisson five minutes walk up road with five restaurants and bars. The Carlton Tower is a great hotel. If you are on business, like me, then the hotel is a bargain. I recommend it for singles, couples and business travelers, not families with little children though, because of the adult themed clubs. Although you should try and stay in the upper floors as the clubs thump all night until the wee hours. That being said […] the clubs are well done. The hotel is very close to the Gold Souk and premium shopping, and low end shopping if you are into that as well. The hotel is on the waterfront of the wharfage of Dubai. Very picturesque. My room was fabulous, until the toilet decided to started making noise, but I just closed the door and turned up the TV and all was forgiven. :-)) The hotel staff was very accomodating and welcoming to me as I came early and made up my room for me early before the check in time, which is why I did not bother the staff about the toilet. There is a minibar and room service. The breakfast was good, in fact they even brought me an extra plate to my room when I was working. All in all a good value for the money. I'd stay here again. Service was very bad. We asked for non smoking room and they gave us smoking and bell boy tried to convince us that there was no smoke smell. Staff is polite but does not respond to requests. The worse part for us was that we asked for a taxi before checking out and the taxi was never called. This caused a tremendous delay causing us to miss our flight […] and very hefty rebooking fees. Stay was good, hotel staff was a little less co-operative, but the manager was good and understanding. Nice clean rooms and bathrooms. Great view of the creek. The pool was really good, not many hotels in that location have one. All in all a comfortable stay. Will stay here again.

I stayed at the Dubai Carlton Towers Hotel in April 2012. The staff at the Front Office was courteous, professional and friendly, however, the lady at the City Tour Desk was not at all smiling and welcoming. The room was neat and the facilities were great. Hotel was filthy and smelled like stale smoke. The sheets looked like they had not been changed in a very long time, the mini shampoo and conditioner were already open and used, etc. Staff could not have been less helpful. The Carlton Towers in Deira City is ideally placed overlooking the Dubai Creek. it offers easy access to the old parts of Deira which from a cultural perspective was very good. Stayed a few days without knowing when to check out. Staff was very flexible when it came to extend stay at reasonable rates. Very nice pool area. Internet access, however, is rubbish. No link in the cable in room and wireless service was continuously overloaded. Semi clean room, faulty curtain rods, old small TV, advertised wireless internet only available in hotel reception, internet wire connection in the room NOT free, bathroom in need of remodel. Hotel must be undergoing remodel, but they should not place hotel guest arriving late at night adjacent to rooms under construction. I may have fallen asleep at […] around 1:00am after arriving around 11:30pm-midnight. Was woken next morning at 7:30-8:00am by concrete demolition in room next door. This continued throughout the day, and same start next morning. Hotel reception stated no other rooms available (Russian groups primarily consisting of females of dubious occupation were constantly entereing hotel). The hotel's location in the heart of Deira couldn't be better to explore Dubai's older part and the subway station is just around the corner. The hotel itself didn't appear to me to be four stars: The room was pretty small and thus uncomfortable, warm water supply for the morning shower was just a joke and the service standard not bad, but also not […] exceptional. The choice of TV programmes is obviously for a very international mix of customers, but not many English programmes. Alles Gut. Gosser Vorteil, das Hotel liegt direct aum Creek. Nicht weit zu den Souks und den Bootsanlegestellen. Man kann ueberaall drumherum preswert essen. Entscheidender Vorteil: in 15min mit Taxi am Flughafen, aber auch schnell mit der Metro zu den Mall's. Das Hotel ist eine perfecte stop-over adresse, wenn man am naechsten Tag weiter muss. Der […] Pool ist o.k. Die Bars bieten alle Unterhaltung die gewuenscht wird. Nichts ist aufdringlich. Man kann perfect zwischen der Bar, der Kellerbar oder den Restaurants pendeln. Abends sehr laut, da russische Disco im Hotel. An schlafen war bis 02.00 morgens nicht zu denken. Rezeption nicht wirklich behilflich mit Zimmerwechsel. Frühstück - akzeptabel.

Der Blick auf den Creek entschädigt aber leider nicht den mangelhaften Zustand, zu wenig Liegen, noch weniger Sonnenschirme, die bei Wind nicht aufgestellt werden können. Das Personal am Pool ist allerdings sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Frühstücksraum ist schon ziemlich abgewirtschaftet, die Fenster und Jalousien machen keinen schönen Eindruck. […] Das Frühstück selbst ist ok, der Kaffee ausgesprochen gut. Das Zimmer, wir bekamen ein Upgrate zu einer Suite, war soweit ok, wobei die Badeutensilien, die in einem 4Sterne-Hotel obligatorisch sind, nicht regelmässig nachgefüllt wurden. Das Personal am Empfang war freundlich, hatte aber z.B. keine Ahnung vo Dubai Duty Free-Tennis-Tournier (Weltklasse) und war auch nicht gewillt sich um Karten zu kümmern. Insgesamt ist die Lage zwar praktisch (nicht weit zur Metro), aber die Umgebung ist nicht schön und man wird ständig in russisch angesprochen, ob man nicht Pelze kaufen will. Wir würden das Hotel nicht mehr buchen, auch wenn es im Internet noch so gut beschrieben ist. Lees meer

Værelser og service super fint, 24 timers service fungere rigtig godt..... Ligger godt og tæt ved mange ting. Morgenmaden var ikke det bedste.. Ellers generelt værd at anbefale.

Sind schon das 4 Mal im Carton Tower. Preis Leistung ist in Ordnung. Für ein Stadt Aufenthalt ideal, da sehr central und am Creek.

Bon emplacement mais taxis introuvable. Petit Déjeuner dégeulasse, pour ne pas dire plus Propreté très moyenne. Un Rapport qualité prix médiocre. Wifi est très cher (20 euros/jour)
