Hotel in karakteristiek pand, met alerte staf. Enige onvermelde punt is de directe ligging aan straat (autoverkeer, trams) en spoor (metro), dus veel geluid tot zeker twaalf uur 's nachts.

The hotel was like a glorified backpackers but was fine. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The downside was that it was a long way from the city so you needed transport to get in. Staff were helpful, only issue is there is only on street parking avaliable with time restrictions on most days or payed garage parking. Being on a busy street the noise in the morning is enough to wake you up.

Small rooms, but clean. Also the shared bathrooms are clean and there are several of them (w/ showers in each). Very friendly staff. Free breakfast with coffee, tea, "juice" (more like lemonade), toast and cereals with milk. Basic but very appreciated. Very cosy feeling in the hotel. One out of three nights, we were disturbed by noise from a larger […] dorm room but the rest of the nights it was OK. Some pre-partying probably took place but calmed down at around 10pm. This is a back packers hotel so if you want 5 star service you wont get it. For what you pay, this is an excellent hotel. It is convenient to South Yarra station so it is so easy to access all train services and trams run outside. The staff at the Claremont were extremely welcoming and put themselves out for everyone. It was a very pleasant experience, great location, nice people

It is very convenient with a 3-minute walking distance to South Yarra Station and tram stop. The dining room is opened 24 hours with complimentary tea and coffee, microwave and eating utensils. Conviniently place in the main toorak road in south Yarra for all transport, especially to the city, Melbourne. Close to main shops and restaurants also being able to use dining room for eating/ making your own meals in, complimentary tea and coffee all day. I was very pleasantly surprised at that value for money, the room was really lovely, bright, airy and clean, great location and have recommended to many of my friends. I am from the country and will certainly stay there again even just for a shopping spree. Thank you very much.

The room was very dark and kind of dusty. Very hot without a good ventilation system, the window is located to an inner yard where some air-cons are located The bathrooms were in good condition. The best was the included breakfast and free wifi.

We had a lovely honeymoon staying here. It was clean and convenient, and staff could not be more helpful. It was great value for the money. Only issue we had was the number of stairs with no lift. This is because my husband has bad knees that don't take kindly to stairs. However the staff did their best to help here by giving us a room on the first […] floor. Clean, close to the city center. Room was a bit small. Suitable for "sleep over and go".

Claremont Guest House impressed me and my husband. We stayed in Ritz in St Kilda before we came to this hotel (yupe, it's more like a hotel than a backpackers), and it gave us an entirely different experiences. The room we stayed in has a bunkbed, a set of table and a chair, a small fridge (awesome!) a tv and this thing like a cupboard made out of steel. […] Thw room is really convenient, and the bathrooms are SPOTLESS! It's like a bathroom for hotel, the difference is just it's outside of your room and you share it with some other people. And there is a free internet wireless too! The interior of the hotel fascinates me, however there is no elevator but that's alright. The location is really strategic too, it's close to the Jam Factory (which is not a factory at all!), Prarhan Market, South Yarra market, convenient stores and more. If I ever travellieng to Melbourne again, I will definitely stay at this hotel again. Oh, a bit turn-off is that, there is this receptionist at the counter who was very unfriendly. She made me and my husband felt very unwelcome, as if we were some beggars asking for shelter. Hope you could change your attitude towards your guests! Other than that, everything was perfect! Parking was an issue. We were not familiar with Australian parking signs and were not sure we were in a legal spot not to get a ticket. The guy at the desk told us to make sure the car was cleaned up so it didnt look like we were traveling. Not a good feeling to be afraid your car will be broken into.

Friendly staff, small rooms, clean, excellent for the price, close to public transport and Chapel Street.

Stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. Room and bathrooms were clean, we didn't have problems with noise and the staff were helpful. Excellent location next to train station in South Yarra. This was a great place to stay to access Melbourne quickly at a reasonable price. Not the place to stay for luxury, but great for convenience, good breakfast and wifi. Although my room was basic, common spaces were comfortable and homely and bathrooms were excellent - well equipped and very clean. Noise carries readily, but I found it no great prob […] lem. I didn't like the hotel at all.

We really enjoyed Claremont Guesthouse: nice staff especially John that gave us a lots of indications and help. Good condition of the building and good cleanliness of the bedroom and the shared bathrooms. The location is pretty close to everywhere and 2 minutes walk to the train station.I recommend this hotel!

This hotel is a real value if some care is taken to secure the right room. The primary issue is its location on a major thoroughfare, laden with cars, trams, trucks and people. Most hotels are insulated against this sort of noise; not the Claremont. Probably the loudest room I've ever stayed in, often seeming as if the window was open when it was in […] fact tightly shut. If one books a room around the back side of the place, however, I think this would be a much quieter location that would emphasize the immense value of the location and property. Just take care to avoid rooms in front (we were in room 154 and that straddled the entry way above the street). Lees meer

The Claremont was a spectacular hotel in the region of South Yarra. The Botanic Gardens are within close walking distance and the train and tram (both running for the same price ticket) are only meters from the door. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful and the rooms were very clean. The bathrooms are extremely well-maintained and taken care […] of (although they were a little cold in June!). The heaters in the room come in very handy and the overall comfort was good! I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to stay. It has a nice homey feel to it, the luxuries of staying away from home, the cleanliness that is exceptional, and the neighborhood that feels safe. Lees meer

This is the first time stay in melbounre. This accommodation provides really practical stuffs. I always looked forward having breakfast in the morning during staying here

Excellent value hotel. A very clean no frills hotel in an excellent location. Close to lots of public transport, shops and restaurants. We even could walk to the Melbourne CBD as it was only a 30-40 minute walk. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

This is my second stay at this guesthouse this year. Staff are very friendly and are always willing to help. Free breakfast and wifi is a bonus, as these extra costs do add up if you are travelling on a budget. I have stayed in both the double private room, and the budget twin room (bunk beds). If your budget allows, the double rooms are much more comfortable, […] as they are a lot bigger. The budget rooms are perfect if you are out for most of the day and just looking for a place to sleep. All rooms also have tV's. The cleanliness of the hotel cannot be faulted. Cleaning staff can be seen at all times of the day. The shared bathrooms are also very well maintained, and are cleaned several times a day. If you are looking for somewhere clean, and on a budget, I would recommend this place 100%. Considering the cheap price, our stay exceeded our expectations. Everything was impeccably clean, the rooms were basic but quiet, and the staff was kind and helpful. Handy and pleasant location next to South Yarra metro station.

I think the Claremont bills itself as a hostel or budget accomodation. But it's much nicer than those names imply. It's got character, the private rooms are clean and a good size. Breakfast is pretty good and the common area is large. Rooms are far from the common area, so they are quiet. There are several bathrooms per floor, so there is no waiting. […] The charges for internet and wifi are too high, but if you're lucky you can find a free wifi connection from neighboring businesses. Although very conveniently located guest house, it really appeals more to young travellers who don't mind sharing the bathroom and sleep in squeeking metal bunk beds. The night shift receptionist was very rude.

It was a bit older looking than I expected, making it look a bit shabby, but it was clean, the bathrooms exceptionally so. The location was good - an easy tram ride into town, and the staff were excellent. Considering that price was very low, it was good value, with towels, soap and breakfast all included.

Very friendly staff. Excellent location, so close to the city center, an absolute value for money. If you are looking for budget accommodation in a nice area, look no further.

Very nice guesthouse, friendly and comfortable. close to transport and in a great area for restaurants and shopping. rooms clean and basic. lots of information for tourists available. definitely recommend for basic accommodation.

Hotel antigo, mas bem localizado e com ótimo preço (custo - benefício). Fica a uns 20 minutos do centro de Melbourne de trem. Bom atendimento. Internet Wifi ruim, não consegui enviar emails pelo iPhone. Muito barulho durante a noite, se você quiser uma boa noite de sono procure outro hotel. Parei o carro na rua, não possui estacionamento no local.

Très bien situé, personnel très sympathique

2段ベッドの1人使用で4畳ぐらいの部屋でした。 シャワーとトイレは共同、ランドリー等は使用しなかったのでわかりません。 WiFiフリーがありがたかった。 従業員さんも親切でやさしかったです。 朝にホテルに着いたのですが荷物も預かりもOK。 大変満足しました。
