We were disappointed that the King bed that we booked was not available so we had to go to 2 double beds in order for my husband to stretch out. Also, we were hesitant that the bedspread was one that was obviously used without being washed in-between guests. With the bedbug scare, we were shocked that the throw pillows and spread were used. Intial room was ot as comfortable as we had hoped. We were moved to a much more comfortable room. Management was very helpful. The location could not have been better. Close to broad selection of restaurants and attractions.

Is there a musty smell...yes, BUT, your smeller adapts quickly and it's not a reason to not stay at this hotel! Our rooms were spotless..including baseboards and tile grout. VERY CLEAN!! Our bedding was very nice too...other reviewers had complained about the sheets...ours were wonderfully soft and smelled good! Shower in bathroom really nice...breakfast […] was fine..although, you are in Charleston where you should experience the local restaurants. And, the location can't be beat! We enjoyed wine and cheese each afternoon and the continental breakfast was wonderful! We also thought our beds were the most comfortable we had ever slept on in a motel/hotel. Can't wait to go back!

We enjoyed our stay at the Anchorage Inn. The Inn was well maintained, & the staff was amazing. The hotel's location was convenient to just about everything.

We were at first apprehensive about where our room was located being right next to the check-in desk. However our fears were unfounded. There was minimum noise and traffic and it turned out to be a pleasant stay. Quality of service and friendliness of employees were very good. We were very pleased with the location of the hotel.

Room was the size of a postage stamp with no window. Only redeeming factor was the size of the large shower. Breakfast was comparable to a Comfort Inn.

Extremely clean, comfortable room. Very nice amenities including wine/cheese in the evenings and late night sherry. Staff was helpful and very nice.

Great location, parking was extra, no cell phone service in building. Breakfast, wine and cheese, and late night port!!! Great place to stay!

The room smells of mold and all clothes had to be cleaned when back home. Almost no cellphone reception inside the hotel. No desk for writing in the room. No windows!

The anchorage inn is well located in the heart of the historic district. A public parking garage is right behind the hotel. The hotel has plenty of atmosphere with an old english inn feel. Enjoyed our overnight stay. Close to entertainment and tourist attractions, enjoyed our walk and carriage ride. Enjoyed the Market Place. Would return for longer visit.

We loved the hotel and location. The hotel staff was very nice. The problem was that the employees at the front desk was either on her personal phone. outside smoking or playing on the computer. I didn't see them as being professional at all. The breakfast was barely a continental breakfast.

Nay at the front desk was outstanding. She went out of her way to make sure my stay in Charleston was top notch, even made dinner reservations for me. If you are looking for a quaint old south experience this is the place to stay, also they are conveniently located within walking distance to the best restaurants in Charleston.

Great staff & wonderful location. The employees here make a this a great price value. They take the time to make you feel like you are their only guest. Small operation so don't expect 20 employees running around to do your bidding. Fresh Lillies everywhere make the hotel smell fantastic.

The decor and furnishings were both beautiful and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel was perfect-we only used our car to travel to nearby islands. We will definitely stay here again!

July 2012, Anniversary... Convenient, close to all sights by walking or pedicab with the best restaurants, clubs all around. Staff was great, breakfast good and afternoon wine time, all really nice. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Price was good, room very comfortable, we’d recommend this hotel to all our friends and family.

This is a beautiful inn right next to everything in Charleston. It's right across the street from one of the city's many wading fountains and pier. The front desk service is amazing and the manager of the hotel makes it a point to interact with the guests. Great location for seeing downtown Charleston. Plenty of fine restaurants within a few blocks, and an easy walk to just about anywhere in the historic district. The wine and cheese hour in the afternoon and the evening sherry were nice touches.

Very good location, and a good deal. The staff was friendly, and felt they were helpful when they could be. Having a concerige would be a huge plus< and felt that what could be asked for special accomidations would be limited without it. One request was done even without it, however, but with only the assistance of the hotel manager.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was beautifully furnished with a great attention to the charm of old Charleston. Afternoon wine & cheese, and late evening sherry nightcap were both nice touches. The location for the sites and restaurants of Charleston could not have been more convenient. We will be back.

The hotel was quaint with a friendly staff and a B&B type feel. We particularly enjoyed relaxing with a nightly sherry in the library. The room was standard with only a bed and chair. The bathroom was newly renovated and we appreciated the large flat screen TV for some Wimbledon viewing when escaping the summer heat. Anchorage Inn offered clean,comfortable lodging in close proximity to downtown Charleston. Once the car was parked in the nearby parking garage, sites could be enjoyed within a quick walk. Wine and cheese as well as a continental breakfast were offered in style. Staff was cordial and attentive. A return trip is a certainty.
