This hotel is a dive! I knew it wouldnt be anything special but my god! the sheets had burn holes in them (in the non smoking rooms) and the window didnt close so had to listen to traffic all night with the heat cranked. Shower had no pressure , could hardly wash the soap off. Spend the extra $20 and stay somewhere else

It's OK considering it's a low budget hotel.

I could hardly fit past the door to get to the toilet. By my second day I had no water in the bathroom sink and by the next day I didn't have any water in the shower either. I got a simple chuckled 'sorry' and that was it. The walls were also paper thin and you could hear everything going on in the other rooms. Worst hotel experience ever.

The pictures of this hotel are misleading. The hotel had a musky smell and though the bathroom was clean the bed spread had a cigarette burn in it. The neighborhood in which the hotel is located was quetsionable and the hotel staff was tolerable but not friendly in the slightest. Clean and well located hotel. Very well priced.

I am surprised by the negative reviews. My room (605) was clean and bedbug free. The shower room was more than adequate, with a large shower with a window, which was nice. The double bed (I paid for a single) was comfortable, and the bed and bath linen was changed daily. There was no minibar, but a small fridge was avaiable, which was very handy. The […] windows didn't open, but the air conditioning worked well. The room was quiet and comfortable. The room had a chest of drawers but no closet, just a clothes rail. Not all TV channels were available. The free ethernet worked well for the first 7 days of my stay, but there were problems the last day when a new access code had to be entered. The front desk said I had to call Bell DataValet customer service, which was effective, but long. Having free local calls is a plus. The location is fine, just a few minutes from Sherbourne subway station, and on a major bus line on Sherbourne. My meetings were downtown, and I had a nice 20-min walk each day to get there. Breakfast was adequate, with cold cereals, muffins, scones, etc. You could eat at the lobby bar or the adjoining tables, or in the seating area sofas. I just needed a place to sleep and it was affordable and very decent place. Small rooms perfect for 1 person! Available parking made it easy.

This was a nice stay, staff are friendly and its close to the Tube station. There is a nice resturant attached to the hotel that does good food. I would recommend this hotel. I would not hesitate to come back to stay myself

It was not a fancy hotel but it was clean and close to the subway.The bar and grill downstairs had good food and friendly atmosphere.

The location of this hotel was the best thing about it. The complimentary breakfast was indifferent. The room and bathroom were tiny but clean. The bed was not comfortable. However, the price was excellent considering the location.

Hotel was about a 20 minute walk from downtown Toronto. We were expecting a double room but got a small double bed in a single sized room. Bathroom was clean with a shower, Toilet & hand basin. Very friendly helpful personnel. A little out of the way, however,super economical.Room on the small side with a huge shower in the washroom. Close to Shoppers Drug Mart, Dollar Mart and Food stores.Close to Wellesley Subway and great restaurants on Church street. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We met some international travellers and had a good talk over a few drinks in the evening. Staff are friendly and helpful. Our only complaint is that the suite wasn't really a suite (we define suite as 2 rooms). It was just a single room with 2 beds, queen and double.

the hotel was good except they didnt tell us they were using r credit card to take 50 dollars more for deposit. i had to wait 4 days to get it back.

my recent stay at isabella would have been good if i had got the room before the said check in time: 3p.m. the check in time is rediculous, especially foe overseas travelers. though staff was some what cooperative but i found them not calm, rather they looked very irratick about certain things. may be that morning was 'one of those morning' for the […] m. I was not satisfied with my stay at the hotel. The room was not clean, garbage from previous guests had been left behind. Including glow sticks under the blankets and a rotting salad in the mini-bar/fridge. There were strands of hair in the bath tub as well. When we complained to hotel management, they did nothing to rectify the situation. In fact, […] the clerk at the front desk asked if the salad was ours?! An apology was barely given upon check out for the condition of the room. No efforts were made by the hotel to make sure we left as satisfied guests of the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel. A wonderful little place with attitude, close to downtown and to amentities. I loved staying there! It was quirkily comfortable, and very good value. Breakfast was included which was good. This place delivers what it promises to deliver.

The hotel was clean and comfortable, friendly staff, good location. The room was a bit smaller than I expected but overall good value for the price :)

Old hotel and services although well placed for business near center of town it is near the worst neighbourhood of Toronto .Although stayed a night I dont believe that the overall condition of the Hotel and its services were worth themoney I paid for .

The woman at the counter was extremely helpful and upbeat. The room, for the price, was extremely small and cramped. There was a substantial cigarette burn in the comforter as well. Not exactly a cozy room by any means.

I thought the price was good and while I had no complaints I would probably try to find somewhere with a little more elegance next time and probably pay a bit more

The hotel was as to be expected for rate, the neighborhood was a little sketchy i felt and it is kinda far away from downtown toronto. The only problem i had was that they hotel doesnt provide parking so I had to pay a additional $15 to park a block away in a non-covered unsecure lot.

I have stayed at this hotel I think three times now. I love that it's within 5 minutes walk of the Sherbourne subway station. I don't understand why this isn't mentionned anywhere in the facts about the hotel. The room is not luxurious, but it contains everything I need for my stay, and I'm quite happy not to pay for luxury since really it's just a […] place to sleep. My only complaint is that on Sundays there seems to be no maid service. I have since heard from friends who live in Toronto that the hotel is situated near a notoriously crime ridden area, but I have never had any difficulties day or night. Never ever stay there. Hotels.com needs to remove it from their list of hotels.

So we paid way more for one night at this hotel, than it was worth. Note we paid what we considered a reasonable for a hotel in Toronto.. The issue was this hotel does not meet the lowest expectations one might have of a hotel. The staff was friendly; however, that was where the positives end. The room was almost too small for the double bed that was […] in the room. You could not move in the bathroom. I would not dare use the shower due to cleanliness issues. The one window in the room was smaller than what you would find in a basement. Maybe two feet by one foot. The elevator barely fit myself and my companion, let alone our luggage (even though it stated it fit 5 people). The bed did not have a comforter; in it's place was a wool blanket covered in stains. There were stains on the carpet and when the sheets were pulled back a large pubic hair was found. Note, this was neither mine or my companion's. We were disgusted; however, as we had no alternative due to it being late and having consumed alcohol that evening. The location is off Bloor Street, which is decieving, as the neighbourhood was intimidating. I would be very surprised if this hotel does not rent by the hour, if you know what I mean!!! So, I would recommend you bypass this one, unless you have a great sense of humour and would like a laugh!!! Lees meer

I enjoyed my stay at the Isabella even though there were many flaws in the experience. For example, the location is more like two blocks from the subway, not one; housekeeping is not the hotel's strong suit, and the rooms are hardly extravagant. It isn't the Delta, but if you don't expect it to be, you can have a pleasant stay. There is no luggage […] service, but that's one less thing to tip for! You can still leave your luggage for the day (and I did tip for that) although there is no special room for it. The rooms vary in size - I stayed on two separate nights in two different rooms, and found _02 a bit tight (no chair and table even) but _05 was big enough. Both bathrooms had windows, which I loved. Fridge (a real one, not a snack/drink dispenser) and coffee pot were in the room. I had to ask for clean sheets the second night, (but they were very nice about it) and I don't think a vacuum cleaner had been under the bed for a while. But bathroom cleanliness was fine. Breakfast in the lobby is pleasant; nothing special but serviceable and convivial. No charge for calls made from the room. The neighbourhood is nothing to write home about, busy during the day and a bit sketchy but not alarming even late at night. Shopper's Drug across the street. Quiet enough to sleep. Room was way too small and needs major renovating. Bathroom looked to be re modeled and was ok. I inspected the bed before I got into it and upon inspecting the sheets I found two loose hairs (gross) and pen marks all over the sheets. I get grossed out easily which is why I brought my own sheets and pillow covers. The appearance of the room itself made […] me feel itchy. The air conditioning barley worked. I found myself waking up throughout the night due to the heat. Battery was missing for tv control. Room and hallways smelled weird. Perfectly reasonable room if you need a bed for the night, but quite a long walk from most of what's happening in Tonroto (except for Bloor St), a good hour's walk to the new heart of the film fest for example. Breakfast, if that's what it was, not really worth providing, muck under the bed...

Room 101 was apparently a storage or luggage room which very recently was turned into a guest room. It was the only guest room on the ground lobby floor. It was across from the women's restroom. Upon arrival there was no light in the small bed room. Workers clothes & equipment was neatly sacked in a corner. The room we were assigned was not a deluxe suite as was stated when I booked. It was a "suite" with a double bed , with no TV and no carafe for the coffee maker. The room air conditioning did not work, the room stayed at 27 deg.C all night long. We mentioned the issues to the front desk and nothing was done about it.
