"Fun neighbourhood"
The room was a little run down, but comfortable. Not what I would have expected for a four star hotel. The staff were fabulous though and very helpful.

"Opus Hotel Montreal"
Great boutique hotel close to many of Montreal's attractions and nightlife. Can get a little noisy at night due to all the close by nightclubs, but they do provide you with earplugs for just such an occassion. Overall I would still comeback!
"Opus Hotel Montreal"
Excellant service and friendly staff, we were greeted with a glass of wine and bottled water. The rooms are comfortable and modern with L'Occitane supplies. Room service breakfast is very good and large portions. Quick walk to McGill University for parents visiting.

I went there cause there was a party for the New Year and I didn't want to drive. While I was there security knocked on my door cause I was listening to music (very low) and they said no music after 11pm. Then after being at the lounge of the hotel I was in my room with my friends joking and stuff and they knocked on my door AGAIN to tell me that we […] were talking too lound. I mean for the price that I payed I think their rules are ridiculous and the parking was very expensive as well for one night and since its down town there are no where to park overnight without the restrictions and stuff. The room was nice, but I think it was not worthed the price I payed I've been to better Hotels and the receptionnist and manager had bad attitude at the checkin in plus room was not ready at 3pm as it was suppose to. People had been waiting for 3hours... Very disapointed Lees meer
"Opus Montreal -don't order room service food"
Room is comfortable and clean but the room service food is horrible. There is no spa and there and nothing is close to the hotel.
"Opus Montreal knows how to do it right"
Beautiful hotel. Spacious modern and CLEAN rooms. Customer Service beyond helpful. Recommend staying here for sure.

"Opus Montreal"
Hotel is looking really worn out. Cornering St Laurent and Sherbrooke, this hotel is in a great location, but really loud street noise and worn out out looking rooms make this hotel a second choice. I'd only recommend this hotel if you get a great deal on the room. 3 years ago, this place was great...now it's simply average, and over priced.
"My Favorite Hotel in Montreal"
This was my first stay at the Opus Hotel. The staff is excepionally professional and friendly. The room (advertiszed as regular king size bed) had much better decor and lwas arger than rooms in hotels closer to the Cresecent Street/University Street area. It is now my favorite hotel in Montreal.
"Opus Montreal"
Centrally located a couple of blocks past Parc on Rue Sherbrooke. Staff is extremely warm & friendly; great room service; pricey but yummy breakfast; Within walking distance to main Montreal's tourist sites. And valet parking is available; very secure and reliable. The hotel has a nightclub, but I didn't go so I can't review...but the location is ideal […] for McGill visitors. But foremost, we'd rate it with similar excellance comparable with other excellant international boutique city hotels. Would highly recommend. Enjoy! Lees meer
"A great stay..."
My wife and I joked that all the staff at this hotel looked like super models, which was true, but you'd think that might mean bad service, but just the opposite. Great service, no attitude. The location is right in all the action, which we loved, and the room was beautiful.
"Run!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Our stay at your hotel was a nightmare! Its pretty bad when you do not warn your patrons about the NIGHTCLUB "KOKO" attached to your hotel. We had pounding music until 3am and we had to be out of the room by noon the next day. AND SO WE THOUGHT WE WOULD GO TO kOKOS AND HAVE A DRINK BUT THEY WOULDN'T SERVE US BECAUSE WE WERE NOT PRETTY ENOUGH FOR THEM. […] HOW INSULTING! So going to bed at 3am in the morning certainly was not our plan! "We paid a lot of money to stay there and we will never stay there again! Plus we are warning our friends and anyone we know going to Montreal and getting a room. It was awful! Beware! When you book on line you cannot get your money back so we were STUCK there. kOKOS was like Miami Vice. Are you kidding me! Oh yeah and I think the waitresses were escorts! You don't dress like that to serve tables. Lees meer
"20s-something party hotel"
With good past reviews from friends and write-ups on the hotel I looked forward to our stay at the Opus hotel in Montreal. Upon arrival, first impressions are a luxury chic urban hotel in a great neighborhood. We were there over a weekend and the surpise came when the disco attached to the hotel kept the music and party blaring to 3 AM Sat night and […] after 11 PM Sunday night. It totally transforms into a loud 20-something party-place on weekends. Smaller peeves: we slept in due to the late noise... and after being out for a few hours in the afternoon had to call to have our room cleaned. There was only one robe in the room. While it's trying to be glamerous it just didn't cut if for the price point. Lees meer

"Exactly what we were looking for!"
Three friends and I traveled to Montreal for a guys trip over a long weekend. First off, the location was outstanding. Right in the heart of the action with most of the high end "supper clubs" within walking distance. Service was incredible. The concierge, Emily, was very attentive and took her job very seriously. Charming as well. The best part […] was the supper club Koko located in the hotel. It is the hot spot on Friday nights for Montreal's who's who. Larry the head bartender was a true professional, possibly the best bartender I've had the pleasure of ordering from. He, as well as everyone at the hotel took it to the next level. Koko rages until 3am so if you're looking for a quite "old Montreal" vacation with your spouse or your family, look elsewhere. If you're a group of young people looking to have a great time Opus is 100% the spot for you. Lees meer
"A fun place"
We stayed just one night but it is a fun place. There is a VERY happening restaurant bar attached to the hotel and it is VERY loud. The drumming was a little annoying but overall we had a nice stay.
"Excellent Romantic Weekend Escape"
Very relaxing hotel stay with girlfriend on three day escape to Montreal. Hotel was busy but not crazy with other guests; room was clean, fairly quiet and very enjoyable. Koko Night Club is on the ground floor and Friday and Saturday nights there are line-ups to get in (so expect some night life excitement in the vicinity). Across the street from St. […] Laurent and all it offers (some shopping and dining experiences). Less than ten minutes to one Metro stop (there may be others closer) and a strong twenty minute walk to Old Montreal, but you still get to experience the city. We enjoyed it !! Lees meer

"Excellent accomodations"
Friendly, helpful staff. Great locale, close to some good restaurants. Walking distance to St. Catherines. Overall A great experience.
"Opus"
I was a bit worried when I arrived. The carpet at the door was ragged, a bulb was burned out in the bath and the internet did not work. I mentioned these items to the staff and they were fixed (except the carpet of course) before I returned to my room. The hotel is modern and interesting. The sound isolation between rooms was poor. Ill never understand […] why hotels don't seal the doors for a few bucks. Food was good. There is a nightclub "CoCo" downstairs on Friday and Saturday which was hopping and apparently noisy for some of our group on the lower levels. I was on the top floor, five, and heard nothing. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Wireless was only available in the lower level lounge/ common spaces. Wired internet is available in the rooms but is $15 a day. There are several universities nearby an interesting shop and restaurant street to the north and downtown core is a short walk away. Museum is a few blocks from the hotel. Entire City is walkable. I'd certainly stay again if visiting Montreal. Lees meer
"good hotel, location wasn't the best for me"
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The thing that I didn't like was that there wasn't wireless internet available in the room. I was there on business so it sucked. The have free wifi internet in the lobby but I want it in my room. So yea , this sucked. The beds are extremely comfortable!!!!! Best Beds Ever!!! rooms were stylish and cool
"opus montreal"
Walking distance to the old city, great big rooms, shower great, bar nice. A little dated but still very nice. No wifi in the rooms but an access to lobby computer. On the edge of a street with bars, when the bars close on a Fri night it's mayhem...if you don't like mayhem get a room in the back, I liked it.
"Great hotel - Great Location"
This is a swank, chic boutique hotel in a fantastic location in downtown Montreal. With its own restaurant/bar and a happening club onsite - so no need to leave the property - which is a big bonus especially in the frigid Canadian winters. The bed was so comfortable, didn't want to get up!! Our only complaint was that the water in the bathroom took […] a long time to warm up and never reached a hot temperature. Lees meer
"Great location great hotel!"
This hotel is great and at the time I booked the price was only a bit more expensive than places with bad ratings and reviews. This Opus is just a bit less glam then the Vancouver location but seems to fit with the Montreal experience just fine. Everything about staying here was totally fine no problems at all. If your sensitive to trendy or stuffy […] hotel guests then Opus might not be your best fit, patrons are usually dripping with pretense. The actual hotel is great though ... Lees meer
"Opus - Montreal"
From the minute we arrived and throughout our stay, we received first class service. The staff was very knowledgeable about the area and helpful with our requests. The hotel restaurant was a very chic and comforable spot to spend an evening, and the food and cocktails were superb. Later in the week they have a lounge/house music DJ in the restaurant […] who keeps the sassy beats going later in the evening, making it a good place to start out for a night on the town. Lees meer
"Opus in Montreal -- good place to stay"
Overall, this hotel was an excellent choice. Very comfortable, excellent food, helpful staff. It is an easy walk to the Metro and located in an interesting neighborhood (like NY Soho) with good restaurants close by. You could also walk to Centre-Ville! Only drawbacks -- the hotel hosts special events, which can be noisy; and breakfast seemed to get […] started a bit late -- Lees meer
"Don't stay here if you want to sleep!"
The room and hotel were beautiful, however the hotel has a restaurant that turns into a club at night, with extremely loud dance music that plays until 3 AM. The hotel even provides ear plugs, for your "inner peace", but the plugs do nothing to suppress the thumping bass. It was like trying to sleep at a rave. If you are going to stay be sure to request […] a room that faces the road as this side might have more of a buffer from the music. Lees meer
The hotel is a decent hotel. It tries to be more upscale than it actually is. The rooms need some upgrading (ie loud air con units and old drapes-curtains that don't close and carpeting that need to be replaced). Overall it was just okay. Good location. I you don't have a lot of time to look for a hotel it will do, but if you have time time to devote […] to looking then I am sure you can find something better. Lees meer

"Opus Hotel in Montreal"
A cool hotel which lives up to the cool neighbourhood it is located in...friendly and helpful staff - great gym and enjoyable dining facilities. A definite place to stay if visiting Montreal...
"There are better choices"
It's overpriced for what it is, prefer place d'arms for experience or chains for value

"the center of the city"
Located on Sherbrooke and Ste. Laurent, the Opus hotel is located in the heart of one of the most beautiful and cultured 'grande dame' of north-american cities. Sherbrooke Blve. winds throught the city connecting the working-class, english neighbourhoods on Montreal's west end to the french equivalent on the east side of the island city. In between […] the two predominate cultures lies downtown Montreal, which acts as a politics-free zone. Downtown can reach by heading west on Sherbrooke and turning south for a couple of blocks until you reach Ste. Catherine's St. On Ste. Catherine's you can shop till you max out your credit cards in any of the hundreds of shops and boutiques both above and below the asphalts. Because the subway {refer to as the 'Metro') runs below the city, most of the stops are connected by a maze of underground malls. Throw in all the boutiques, galleries, bars, and restaurants located on the side streets and you can spend days downtown. On the other axis is Ste. Laurent, often referred to as the 'Main'. It's right next to the hotel. Heading north you'll walk in one of the hippest areas in town. What was once the immigrant neighbourhood of the city, with ethnic markets and restaurants and countless sweatshop factories, the main has gone throught a cultural facelift the last couple of decades. You can still catch glimpses of the past in iconic landmarks such as Schwartz's deli were nothing has changed for decades and that's how they like it, thank you very much. And speaking of old iconic landmarks, if you head the opposite direction from the hotel, (south on Ste. Laurent), you'll reach Chinatown, about 3 blocks away. Further south for about a couple more blocks, you'll reach City Hall. beyond that is 'Old Montreal' with buildings dating back centuries. Last but not least, eastward from the hotel for about 4 blocks, you'll come to Ste. Denis Blve. which runs parallel with Ste. Laurent. Whereas Ste. Laurent is hip, boho, and well-worn, Ste. Denis, on t Lees meer

"Would Not Return Money When Grandfather Was Sick"
During my trip to Montreal, my grandfather became very ill, and I had to return home very quickly. I had to cancel the last two days of my stay, and was hoping that the Opus Hotel would return the cost of the two nights that I was unable to use. Unfortunately, they did not.

"Loud party hotel"
Don't stay here unless you're happy with a hotel determining when you can and can't go to sleep. Half the hotel's rooms are located above a courtyard housing a hotel club/bar which, at some point, had at least 400 guests partying hard, a DJ, and speakers pumping out teeth-shattering bass directly at us until 3:30 am. Called downstairs, asked why it […] was still going on so late (bars close at 3:00 am in Montreal), the guy goes, "Huh, that's weird" and hangs up. I'm not kidding. And by the way, I'm originally from Montreal; my first language is French, so it wasn't some miscommunication. The noise actually stopped at 5:00 am, after all, it takes time to clear out 400 people, and then it takes a very loud and talkative cleaning crew to pick up after them while dragging tables and chairs around. All very clearly audible, with windows closed and earplugs. Ah... the Opus earplugs. The hotel provides cute little "cubes" on bedside tables containing ear plugs, with packaging that reads something like "The Opus is located in a vibrant and lively neighborhood. Should outside activities disturb the peaceful environment of your room, use these earplugs". I had to laugh. No earplugs could block that level of noise out. The problem isn't the neighborhood; the problem is designing a hotel around a nightclub, and not doing anything to block the noise out. Had the Opus Montreal website clearly stated that half the rooms would be overlooking one of the city's most popular party location, I never, ever would have booked this hotel. There are too many good hotels in Montreal to go through this. This hotel is obviously more interested in alcohol revenues than in the peace and comfort of their guests. Overall, staff was rude, inconsiderate, and simply didn't care that it was absolutely impossible to sleep until 5:00 am. And, oh, yeah. I'm still paying for the room, right? No apologies, no comps, and it took a lot of work to get moved to a new room on the non-party side of the hotel Lees meer
"Very nice...especially for those with overflowing wallets."
My wife and I shared a very enjoyable pair of evenings in the Opus and have only a few pieces of advice. 1) Trust the advice of the other reviews on this site and demand a room on the opposite side of the hotel from the nightclub. I have no idea how anyone could sleep through that noise sleeping above it. 2) Don't touch anything in the fridge. A mini-bar […] was available in our room with some extremely high priced items. Wow. Just Wow. 3) We felt a little under-dressed the whole time we were there. Bring your most posh attire...and your Ferarri. 4) Only valet parking is available. We saved some money by parking on the street. Those things said, we had a lovely room, a wonderful time, and a great location in the city and plan on reccomending the hotel to our friends. Lees meer
