Het hotel ligt vlakbij een metrostation (Tirso de Molina), Puerta del Sol en het Plaza Mayor. De kamer was niet groot, maar wel schoon en mooi ingericht. Alles zag er nog nieuw uit, en de gratis WiFi deed het ook prima in de kamer. Het ontbijt bestond uit brood (zelf toasten), croissants, yoghurt, muesli, cornflakes, mini-muffins, vier soorten sap, fruit, koffie (ook zonder cafeïne) en thee. Op de begane grond was bovendien de hele dag gratis sap, koffie en thee beschikbaar. We mochten ook na het uitchecken nog gebruik maken van de faciliteiten. De medewerkers van het hotel waren altijd vriendelijk en behulpzaam.
Ligging.
Hotel De Las Letras ligt in het centrum van Madrid, op loopafstand van San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts en Puerta del Sol. In de buurt bevinden zich ook Plaza Mayor en Prado Museum.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
Dit hotel in Madrid heeft een restaurant, een koffietentje/café en een bar/lounge.In openbare ruimtes is een gratis snelle internetverbinding (draadloos en via kabel) beschikbaar, terwijl de accommodatie over een computer met internetverbinding beschikt. De zakelijke voorzieningen bij deze accommodatie met 4 sterren zijn onder andere een businesscentrum met 24/7 toegang, vergaderruimtes voor kleine groepen en een technische helpdesk. Het personeel kan op verzoek een conciërgeservice, hulp bij excursies/tickets en een huwelijksservice regelen. Elke kamer biedt uitzicht op de stad. Hotel De Las Letras heeft 109 kamers met airconditioning die zijn voorzien van kluisjes in de kamer (ook geschikt voor laptops) en een minibar. Elke kamer heeft lcd-televisie met kanalen via digitale ontvanger. Elke accommodatie biedt een bureau, een kluisje op de kamer en een telefoon met directe buitenlijn. Gasten hebben gratis (draadloos) breedband internet op de kamer. Alle bedden hebben een memoryfoam-matras met lakens van Egyptische katoen, een donzen dekbed en luxe beddengoed. Een kussenkeuzemenu is beschikbaar. Elke badkamer heeft een bad/douchecombinatie met een handdouche, een dubbele wastafel, designer toiletartikelen en een bidet. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere make-up-/scheerspiegels en een haardroger. Daarnaast zijn op verzoek voorzieningen beschikbaar zoals een strijkplank/strijkijzer, hypo-allergeen beddengoed en badjassen. Een turndownservice is elke avond beschikbaar en een huishoudservice dagelijks.

Chueca, een mindere centrumwijk in de jaren 1980, is nu het modieuze homoseksuele hart van de stad. Het middelpunt is de Plaza de Chueca, met talloze terrassen, bars en clubs erop en eromheen. De straten in de buurt staan vol interessante winkels, restaurants en traditionele tapasbars. Het Museo Municipal aan Fuencarral met de barokke ingang en de Habsburgse schatten mag je niet missen.

"Prima Hotel"
De las Letras is niet goedkoop, maar de faciliteiten zijn dan ook uitstekend net als de service. De kamer was prima! De locatie is heel goed, weliswaar aan de drukke Gran Via, maar de balkondeuren sluiten het lawaai goed buiten!
goed hotel, super ligging, kwaliteit van de bedden was iets minder. Prijs/kwaliteitsverhouding: eerder aan de dure kant.

Walking distance to most of Madrid's main attractions. Friendly staff. Lounge on main floor is a great spot for relaxing and people watching while having some drinks. Room was modern, spacious and very comfortable. Would book this hotel again without question.

We enjoyed our stay very much. We had a very good deal for the breakfast. We particularly liked the lounge area which is bright with a good outlook on to the street scene, and excellent, reasonably priced drinks were provided. Our 4th time in Madrid and booked this hotel to be a little closer to the attractions, restaurants and night life. PERFECT location GREAT staff and TERRIFIC room. Upgraded to a terrace suite for Eur35/night which included breakfast for 2 delivered to the room and internet - so a great deal just for that. However, the terrace was a haven in the midst […] of the city. Great private space with superb views and what a great find! Will DEFINITELY return here when next in Madrid. Staff helpful to a fault and showed us choice of rooms prior to the upgrade. Printed boarding cards for us. Booked restaurants and shows - gaveexcellent advice and always super friendly. The hotel was within walking distance to all sights and shopping - making it very convenient for touring Madrid. No difficulty with water temperature or water pressure. The restaurant food quality and presentation was excellent. A complimentary appetizer sample was a nice surprise and delicious. The only negative of the hotel was the lighting in […] the room. "Lovely modern well situated hotel."
We liked this modern stylish hotel. The lobby was under construction so we had to hang out in roof terrace but otherwise great. Great location close to sights and metro and even Starbucks. Good wifi.

Well located to all top 10 sights. Walking distance to The Prado and The Thyssen art museums. 1+ blocks to the Gran Via Metro. 4 blocks to Puerta del Sol. 10 minute walk from Plaza Cibelles where the Airport bus stops. An excellent hotel in an excellent location. Very clean, quiet and stylish. The bed was a bit too soft for my taste and the hotel was being renovated. There were no books in the library and the gym and the spa were not in operation.

"EXCELLENT HOTEL"
This is one of the nicest hotels where I have ever stayed. Everything was clean and very pretty. We had our own balcony overlooking the street. I could not have been happier with this hotel. The ceilings in the room were really high, and the color scheme was amazing.
Large room with fine linens and amenities. Clean bathroom with nice toilet items. Excellent breakfast buffet. Very courteous staff and prompt service.

The hotel is in the heart of Madrid which is very convenient. It is an old building which is renovated but the old stile is preserved and the mix of old and modern style is quite cool. The roof top palace is very nice to hang out and have a drink before going out. When we arrived our room had smoky smell so we had to change room. The breakfast is pricey […] (16€) compared to the cafes in the streets but it was quite good. There is no Spa area. Las Lettres is an excellent place to stay for a weekend trip. Lees meer

Very modern re-decarted rooms, high ceilings and spacious, in an old building. Excellent location for site seeing close to old town Madrid, Mercado de San Miguel, Plaza Espana, etc. The out door terrace bar on the roof was delightful and is a must if you go. We took the metro from the airport to one block away from the hotel (40 minutes and three changes) […] and the yellow Ali bus from two blocks away back to Barajas airport -- the bus was easier and we got to see more of Madrid. Beautiful old details (doors, iron decoration) in the common areas, combined with crisp, spacious modern rooms and friendly service made this a great place to stay in central Madrid. The rooftop terrace bar was a great place to have a drink and relax. Highly recommended.

Really great hotel in a central location, on a main shopping street (Gran Via) and across from the Chueca area of the city. Rooms were compact, but with high ceilings and spacious bathrooms. "Great hotel and nice location"
The only con (if you can call it a con) is that the hotel was a little older and you might notice it here and there. BUT, it is not a big deal, because there are so many great things about De Las Letras H&R. Great location – it is literally in the city center and walking distance to nearly everything. There are at least 2 metro stops within two blocks. […] We walked everywhere and had no problems seeing all the sights. The only time we took a metro was to visit the business district. The hotel was clean and our room was very interesting. I really liked it, and it was the largest room of the three hotels we stayed in during our visit to Spain. Oh, and having a balcony was really nice too. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Check-in and checkout was easy. The price was great and the restaurant was excellent too. Usually I don’t spend time in the hotel bar or restaurant, but I did stop in this one a couple of times. Mixed drinks are pricey, but wine and sushi (yes, sushi) were priced moderately. Overall, I really liked the fact that this hotel was slightly offbeat, using vibrant colors in the rooms and blue lights in the elevator. I would certainly recommend it to anyone. Lees meer

Reception staff are the best. They are knowledgeable, helpful and very pleasant despite how busy they are. We liked our room and the convenient bathroom. The only suggestion would be that more light be available in the room as needed.

On the face of it Las Letras is a great deal. The hotel is in a superb location, has excellent fast internet, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff is also very professional. However, both the road noise and the extremely noisy restaurant below make it a hard place to get a good nights sleep.

We stayed at this hotel five years ago and decided to return because of the location and the very friendly staff. We were not disappointed. It is very noisy if you stay on the Grand Via side, so ask for a room on the back side of the hotel. We would stay again, if ever in Madrid.
Started out well and got better: early check-in to a spacious, stylish room with a specatcular balcony view of the Gran Via (Madrid's Broadway). The location afforded easy walking access to all of the city's sights, and the front desk was quite helpful when called upon. The room was large and very clean, with high ceilings. It was equipped with a safe, […] and a small flat-screen TV (3 english-language news channels provided a welcome connection home). The free wifi worked well throughout my stay. Large bathroom with giant towels, a full-size tub and generous water pressure was another welcome touch. Housekeeping actually made room in the minibar fridge to accommodate my healthy diet purchases. If you don't enjoy the sounds of the city like I do, the busy street below might not appeal, althought It was suitably quiet at night. The view overshadowed the busy daytime soundtrack by a mile . The location of this hotel is excellent. The room was good, but we were facing the main street and there was noise. But really not that bad, and you are just steps away from good restaurants and bars. The front desk staff was very helpful, and they spoke English.
