We booked De Las Letras because of its location and the reviews. We were not let down! It is a very good hotel with friendly staff. Very willing to help you. Even arriving one hour early wasn't a problem. We could check in immediately! No questions asked! The stay was very comfortable and the rooms were very spacious and clean. We hebben in oktober 2010 een weekend doorgebracht en zijn met name met de ligging zeer content. De omgeving hebben we te voet verkend. Van en naar de airport met de metro. Het is heel goed te doen. Reisduur ca. 45-50 minuten.

Have been to Madrid often and stayed at various similarly priced hotels in Sol area. Las Letras is easily the best hotel I have stayed at in central Madrid. It has a quieter location and is ideal for exploring Chueca, Fuencarral, and Malasana plus not too far from Sol / Plaza Mayor. The hotel itself is very nice and has a relaxing lounge area on the […] ground floor with very reasonably priced drinks. It is also worth checking out the roof terrace. Our room booking was for a budget room but I was pleasantly surprised when our room had plenty of space, a sofa, and a balcony. We stayed at the hotel in February. From the minute we walked in we were impressed by the period yet modern surroundings (check out the old lift on the ground floor). The staff were always helpful - letting us check in 3 hours early as our room was ready, calling the transfer company for us etc.. Our room was a really good size, the only thing missing […] was tea/coffee making facilities. If you stay over the weekend I would recommend taking ear plugs as the hotel is on a busy street and people were walking home all through the Saturday night. We had drinks and tapas down in the bar/cafe a few times. The tempura prawns & calamari on the 'miniscules' menu was the best I've ever tasted!! Location wise, the hotel is in walking distance to the main squares, the palace and the shopping areas, very convienient. If I were to go back to Madrid I would book this hotel again. Lees meer

we are very pleased with the hotel in every aspect except WIFI. the location is superb. staff is extremely helpful. they let us check in before noon. room is clean. bath room is huge. there is even a nice size gym with sauna for free. the only problem we have with the hotel is WIFI. our laptops and smart phones got disconnected from WIFI every 15-20 […] mins. it is very annoying esp when you try to look up the map, travel info, chat or skype with family. because of this major issue, our rating for this hotel can not go above 3. From the moment we arrived we loved the hotel. The staff were friendly and attentive and the overall ambience and decor very chic and inviting. In fact, my wife and I gazed longingly into the lounge bar from our taxi, not realising we had arrived at the hotel and commented on the relaxed and stylish atmosphere, envious of the people looking so relaxed […] in such a cool setting. Later on that evening we were enjoying cocktails in the same bar looking out. The rooms are nicely sized for two people and are very clean, comfortable and well appointed, with a very funky and cool decor based on a literary theme (as you would expect from the name). We found the staff to be very helpful and courteous at all times, which always makes for a good experience. The location of the hotel right on the Gran Via is very convenient, with a constellation of shops, good restaurants, tapas bars and major tourist attractions a stone's throw away. This is a charming hotel, well situated in the heart of Seville. The rooms are beautifully furnished and decorated. The design of the various reception areas gives the building the feel of a house rather than a commercial enterprise. Numerous musical instruments dotted about the public rooms are not just for show; the Yamaha baby grand was in tune, […] and guests were welcome to play it. The sherry and orange-sweetened wine left here and there proved popular - especially with a group of older guests who merrily sat out the rain getting trollied. As this was our first time in Seville, and the weather on arrival was poor, we ate breakfast at the hotel. For a very reasonable nine Euros or so, a selection of pastries and rolls; ham, cheese and tomatoes; freshly squeezed orange juice and fruit; and tea and coffee were served. Setting the tables around the reception rooms helped to maintain the impression of being guests in a house rather than paying customers. For those staying on sunny days, the hotel's roof terrace is delightful, with a hot tub and towels, bar, and views towards the cathedral. On our last day, the sun came out. Overall a great place to stay. The staff was incredibly helpful. The location was central to the Palace and the Prado. It was a short walk to Plaza de Sol. I would stay there again.

I agree with all positive comments. This lovely old property had a total makeover. The beds are super comfortable, the bathroom is nice, the people are nice and the lobby/bar area is great. Highly recommended. Only downside - wifi in room was weak. If this is important, ask for a different room.

Not inexpensive for us, but a well located and well managed hotel, easy to meet friends in the very comfortable and light public areas. The gym was under repair, a disappointment, but we were tired enough at the end of the day that we could easily pass on another work-out. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

Check in was efficient and friendly. The bedroom and bathroom were large and spotlesly clean- as were the lounges and bar. We particularily enjoyed the roof terrace. I was really torn between choosing this hotel or another. The photos of this hotel didn't seem that impressive, but the feedback from visitors and the rooftop bar tipped the scales in favor of Hotel De Las Letras. The hotel is relatively small (which is a good thing as it's easy to get in and out of it), but the room we had was quite large. Very comfortable. […] Very clean. Had an excellent, luxurious stay here at what I called my little Madrid Mansion. The upstairs Terrance was also beautiful although there was nobody serving at the bar when I went up for a drink...perhaps it was siesta time? Overall great experience. Staff was very helpful and try could all speak fluent English. Would definitely return :)

The hotel was very close to museums, shopping areas and restaurants...even a Starbucks right down the road. The only thing that was not up to par, was the bed. We found the bed to be uncomfortable...just a little too hard for our taste. I would certainly recommend this hotel. The breakfast buffet , also, was good, with lots of choices!
