Hotel San Michele in Cortona

Ligging in het centrum. Zeer mooi. Oud, maar goed onderhouden. Echt Toscaanse stijl. Ontbijt is redelijk tot goed. Het plaatsje Cortona is erg mooi en ligt tegen een berghelling.

Hotel location was great, staff were very helpful and room wa comfortable and clean. We stayed in superior room and was great. The hotel was built in the 15th century so don't expect it to be a brand new hotel. The only small gripes I have would be the parking was not available unless booked prior as it wa busy time of year but having said this even […] on the busiest weekend of the year we were able to get free parking 100metres from hotel after unloading vehicle at front door. Second gripe is the hotel does not have wifi in rooms but only in downstairs lounge. The walls are about a metro thick so I reckon it would be a little hard to do. this anyway. These are only small problems and are fr overshadowed by the quality of the rest of the hotel and staff oh and location. Don't forget to get out of the city and take a driver around to the lake. This is a great little place to stay, helpful staff, clean charming room, great location. Will stay there again.

Our experience was very pleasant even though we spent only one night in Cortona. The complimentary breakfast was very good. The rooms were nice, bathrooms were adequate (for European standards-tiny showers). The hotel was an old building but well kept, but that is what you expect when traveling in this region. We were pleasantly surprised at the nice Tuscan atmosphere of this hotel. We stayed only one night in July while making a tour of several locations in Europe on my sons recommendation. It was a very busy time of the season, so the hotel he had previously used was unavailable, so we booked from Hotels.com and it was a great choice. If (When) I go back to Cortona, I will absolutely stay at this hotel. It is perfectly situated in the center of town. The hotel is clean, well maintained, and has a wonderful breakfast (complete with scrambled eggs!!). The staff was extremely friendly and spoke English better than I do!! The hotel claims to have parking (for 11 euro) and because I was […] traveling with a car, I thought this was extremely important. But when arriving in Cortona, the hotel informed me that they did not have room in their "garage" for my tiny smart car. So we ended up parking at the end of the street (at the bottom of the hill, and outside the main city wall). This ended up being so much easier that I originally anticipated. I would recommend parking below in the free parking lot, and spend that 11 euro on some delicious gelato!! I've stayed at the San Michele before and was hoping for a similar room with a similar view (a big reason why we chose this hotel). At hotellet har fire stjerner er nok lige at stramme skruen efter min mening - et hotel i den gode ende i kategorien af 3 *-hoteller vil nok være mere realistisk. Hotellet skiller sig ikke ud fra mængden af hoteller i mindre italienske bjergbyer, men en meget positiv ting er personalet, som er meget hjælpsomt. En pärla i den underbara staden Cortona. Fina rum, bra frukost. Poolen finns dock inte i hotellet utan en bit därifrån.

O hotel é bem localizado, o estacionamento fica fora das muralhas e é público. Nosso quarto tinha uma vista incrível que era um colíro para os olhos. Bom café da manhã e próximo da praça central.

Meget central beliggenhed i fantastisk by. Hotellet er smagfuldt indrettet. Vores værelse vendte dog ud til lille gyde med udsigt til muren lige overfor.

Beliggenhet i første etasje uten annet enn vegg å se i er litt trist når en skal være der i 4 dager. Flott ordning av rommet. litt tam frokost , mest søtt. må passe på at tevann er varmt. Hyggelige damer i resepsjon og ved servering av juice på ettermiddag. Stille beliggenhet. Flott by

The hotel was very nice. Room was in old style with all desired facilities. Design of hotel was in tune with the city. Breakfast room had possibilities to sit outside. Breakfast was more than the standard continental breakfast that is normal in Italy. All in all, a very nice place. Would stay there again.

This was the most expensive option in Cortona the rooms were spacious and nice and the hotel was in great location. But we were displeased with the service and the behavior of the staff and breakfast was nothing special.Staying in different hotels around Tuscany I do not think this hotel is worth its money!
