Place looks a bit rundown and old. Poor curtain situation (multiple rooms) lets in direct sunlight first thing in the morning. IDD and local phonecalls (that I did not make) added to my bill at checkout, though they did remove them once i pointed that out. Much better deal at City Garden for same price.

The berjaya hotel is just OK. Nothing fancy, nothing special. The staff was probably the best part. Very friendly and very willing to help with anything. Keep in mind I had one of the nicest rooms in the hotel.There is one on every floor. The room was clean, but not fresh. Everything is old and run down. Don't expect a Hilton quality room if your staying […] here. The bed was very hard which made it difficult to sleep. Some of the rooms have nicer flat screen TV's with cable. I prepaid my hotel for my entire two week trip and after I was there I wish I hadn't. There are alot of hotels in Makati so if you don't like one you would probably be able to move to another very easily. There is a pool at the hotel, but it was out of service for repair during my stay. Plan to give yourself at least an hour travel time anywhere you go in Manila. Traffic is ridiculous. Lees meer

The hotel is adequate if other choices are limited, but I was disappointed that in a "Deluxe" room the shower water was only lukewarm. The previous guest left shampoo and soap wrappers on the bathroom floor under handbasin unit that took 3 days for houseclearing to clean away. There seem to be better hotels nearby at similar rates - next time I'll try […] St Giles, City Garden, or Makati Palace. Lees meer

The only real complaint is that not a block away is a small red light district. Room was quiet when it came time to sleep and the water was a bit on the warm not hot when it came time to shower. Otherwise no complaints.

Best in the closeby area, but not necessary for the budget traveller

On arrival, the reception staff tried to convince me to accept a smoking room on a lower floor. This is a very common practice in 3 star hotels in Makati. However, I stood my ground and in the end they offered me a very acceptable room on the 14th floor. The hotel is fairly close to good shopping malls and restaurants. I was looking for a nice/cheap hotel in Makati for my vacation. I searched the reviews and saw that this hotel had good reviews for the price I was looking to spend. Staff was courteous, room was what was expected from the reviews. Close to bars, restaurant, and SM Hypermart. Also very close to shopping, Glorietta, Greenbelt Wi-Fi was a little slow […] (16th floor), shower pressure/flow was weak. Only 2 things I can really knock this place for. stadffing very friendly, courteous,and very helpfull throughtout my stay. Room is well-cleaned every day. all amenities is always near your reached..Hotel building is well-protected and sorrounding neighbors is in safe location. But food is very-pricey as compare to sorrounding restaurant.

We were staying in this hotel because it was near the Norwegian Embassy. The room was clean and the air condition was quiet because it's centralized. Wireless internet was free and available in the rooms. Unfortunately, the WLAN signal wasn't strong in the rooms. I had to sit in a weird corner in the room to use internet or go out in the hallway. Breakfast […] was not included, but across the street is a 7-Eleven. There were also many restaurants nearby. This hotel is just on Makati Avenue and getting a taxi is easy. Lees meer

Friendly and helpful staff. Good location.

I am feeling at home when i enter the lobby, yes even before the door in taxi is opened, the welcome you. This first feeling is important if you travel a lot. Hassle free check in and nice people the whole way around. Only 2 complain is towel is to poor quality and the neighboor construction makes some noice 24 / 7

Staff were very freindly , a must that i consider of the upmost importance . Terriffic

Upset with the failure on the jacuzzi but stayEd in the deluxe premier and really really enjoyed the five day stay.

Nice and friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms with fast wifi and lcd tv offered all the convenience in a good location. The breakfast buffe was a slight disappointment in terms of variety but the usual stuff, omelets, toasts and some fruits was there plus some asian stuff.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Berjaya. It was comfortable, it was clean, and you could get anywhere in Makati for a great price. The next time in Manila, I'm going to stay there again.

Room quality is good. Will sure to check-in again here on my next vacation in manila.

The service was excellent there. The western food was made and tasted right. The pictures of this hotel on websites appears to look much better than what reality is. So don't be fooled by the pictures. Always down play what the pics show and set lower your expectations. Only down side I can see was that hotel maintenance is an issue. I believe if they […] focus on the hotel maintenance as a priority then this hotel can potentially turn into a 4 star hotel. The first room I was given had a bunch of small baby spiders running along the walls of the 11th floor. I got my room changed to the next floor which still had the spiders but only a few. Lucky I had with me a can of insect killer which sorted this problem out. Lees meer

My stay was great...staff friendly..room is of a good size and comfortable. I chose this hotel due to the reviews which were accurate. Walking distance to Greenbelt if you don't mind a 10-15 min walk. I highly recommend this hotel. Thanks again

A good 3 star hotel strategically located in the entertainment areas.

Good hotel with very friendly staff. the rooms are surprisingly good (considering the rate) - even when compared to much more expensive hotels like Mandarin or Peninsula. Would be good if the rates would include breakfast. would stay here again - good hotel.

The staff alone would make me return over and over. The meals at the restaurant were superb. The bar always friendly and welcoming. Make sure you get a room with city views.

The Brjaya ia a GReAT Hotel at an Internet price.I was very pleased.They genuinly cared about their guests.Nothing was 2 much trouble. Filipino hospitality at its best! THE BERJAYA is a very nice hotel in the heart of Makati. Nice restaurant. Holel is very accommodating to any needs. I always stay here when in Manila.

This is a Great Hotel !! Staff are are over friendly ! IF your stay is for a week or more you can sometimes catch a FANTASTIC rate!! Room is nice and large. AIRCON is central so no window Unit noise keeping you awake all night. In room internet is sometimes very slow..but with patience it does ok. (In emergency you can go to the lobby and get excellent […] connections.) I have stayed here at least five times. So thats sez a lot!! Cheers. SLB Lees meer

The executive staff from top to bottom is the best. The GM and her managers are always available to attend to our needs. Food is great, the bar's staff makes some outstanding cocktails, waitresses are not only great looking but very attentive to our needs. FIVE STARS for a 3-star price !!

When we first arrive they check us in the a very small and run down room, nothing what the web site look like ... After talking to the bell boy, that rooms was too small. He sugests that we ask for upgrade.. With little bit of haggling with front desk we got the newer renovated rooms that was shown on the web site without extra charge.. I stayed at the Berjaya Manila Hotel for 6 nights, in a Deluxe Room on the 12th floor, in September, 2011. The room had a queen-sized bed, a bathroom with a shower/tub combination, an in-room safe, a television with lots of English-speaking stations, a small refrigerator, and a complimentary newspaper and two bottles of water provided, daily. The room […] was clean, and the a/c worked fine. The hotel has a pool that was a bit cold, and a jacuzzi, and a 2nd floor bar that is said to be open, 24 hrs/day. There is also a lobby bar near the check-in/reception counter that had live music (bands) playing each evening, from 7:30 - 10:30 P.M. (This was a really nice feature.) The hotel staff were all very friendly, courteous, and helpful. The hotel has a good location on Makati Ave., as it is within walking distance to the various malls (e.g., Greenbelt & Glorietta), Ayala Triangle, etc. For some red-light entertainment, Burgos Street is only about 1-1/2 blocks away, if you want (but you can also completely avoid this). This was my first stay at the hotel, and I will certainly stay there again. A couple of things that I didn't like were as follows. (1) Upon check-in, I was informed that the hotel required a 2000 Php (~48 USD) deposit for "incidentals", which is one of the few hotels that I have ever stayed at that requires such a deposit. (2) The buffet breakfast was NOT included in the price of the booking, which is unfortunate. Many hotels do include breakfast in the price of the room. I had the buffet breakfast one time anyway, and it was 450 Php (about 11 USD), which I did not consider it to be worth, so I ate outside for the rest of my breakfast meals. Lees meer

The price is good, staff polite, resturants and fast food places all over the makati ave but lot of prostitutes on the streets during the evening and nights. The bed was not so comfortable for me but my wife felt it was okay. I was there for 6 nights and I will be staying here again in the future.

the hotel itself was nice and the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. The tarriff was very reasonable, it was not 5 star but the room was clean and we had tea and coffee and complimentary water each day. We had a fridge and TV and free wireless internet so what else do you need. There was a resteraunt and a bar with different live bands […] each night. Happy Hour was fun with very cheap cocktails. The food was nice and reasonably priced. Like all hotels though in manila nothing is close by. You do have to use the taxi's which are very cheap. I would recommend you always hail one off the street instead of getting one outside hotel as rates different and the street car will always use the meter. Even though you have to catch taxi to the Asia Mall or the waterfront you can take a 15min walk to a very big shopping area which has a cinema in it, for when you are tired of shopping! Lees meer

Hotel standards very good and the staff were most helpful. Very close to Glorietta Mall and Mall of Asia only 15 minutes away and considering the traffic in Manila this is indeed a bonus. Night life in this area is also very good. I would suggest that you get a taxi driver you can trust and stick with him. Print off a map of the hotel area for the taxi […] driver and do not pay anymore than 250 pesosfor the journey. I had a very pleasant stay at the Berjaya but one word of caution, get your breakfast outside the hotel. Filipino breakfasts are definitely not for the Western Palate. Lees meer

reasonably cheap hotel in quite a good area for Manila, but with no shortage of hotel staff but so inefficient it was a joke, food for asian tastes, bar where it is faster to serve yourself , tired rooms better places to stay for same money.

The staff at this hotel are outstanding. For a Makati Hotel, this one has reasonable rates and is in a good location in Manila. I like pools, and this hotel has a quiet indoor pool and hot tub. Also, all rooms have WIFI. There are bars nearby, the drug store is next door, and no street vendors to pester you outside.

We checked into the hotel and could not get internet service so they moved us to a higher floor, this room was ok but when i showered i wound up with water all over the floor, it appeared that the tub was leaking due to poor seals around the tub and also appeared to have been a issue for a while, we again were moved to another room and the tub in this […] room was the same type. I realized then that the tubs were not the proper tubs to be used with curtains, everytime we showered we had to clean up water on the floor, there is no way to prevent it. Lees meer

(1st stay of 2 stays) Staff is awesome and very hospitable, The hotel its self is in need of some updating and maintaince !!! It is convienatly located by many restaraunts and shops. But there are some bad elements around the hotel such as prosititution and lots of beggers! However the Hotel Security does a great job keeping these bad elements away […] and they also look out for the hotel guest .... BIG PLUS ! Checked out of the hotel after a 4 day stay actually looking foreward to coming back in a few days for another 8 night stay. Im here now and i will be submitting a follow up after my stay. Lees meer

The rooms are beautiful, the view is nice. The hotel is in the hills, but close to it they have a lift what you can stand on.
