Het verblijf van mezelf en 5 vriendinnen in het hotel was zeer geslaagd! Pluspunten: centrale ligging, knappe inrichting, lekker ontbijt, vriendelijk personeel. Minpunten: geen echte lobby, dus wat onhandig bij in en uitchecken, straatlawaai 's nachts op 2de verdieping erg hoorbaar, weinig opbergplaats in kamer.

Goed hotel, door korting voor een goede prijs, tikkeltje lawaaierig ondanks ligging kamer aan binnenplaats (door verkeers-/container-lawaai).
Ligging.
Hotel Hellsten ligt in Norrmalm in Stockholm, dicht bij Observatoriummuseum van Stockholm, Koninklijke Zweedse opera en Stadhuis van Stockholm. In de buurt bevinden zich ook Nationaal museum en Stockholm Royal Palace.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
Hotel Hellsten heeft een sauna en een fitnesscentrum. Dit hotel met met 4 sterren beschikt over zakelijke voorzieningen waaronder een businesscentrum en vergaderruimtes voor kleine groepen. Dit hotel voor zaken biedt diverse eetgelegenheden, zoals een bar/lounge. Gasten krjjgen gratis ontbijt. Het personeel kan op verzoek een conciërgeservice, evenementencatering en bedrijfsgerelateerde dienstverleningen regelen. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere meertalig personeel, een wasserij en gratis kranten in de foyer. Parkeren op locatie is mogelijk tegen betaling.

Elk kamer biedt uitzicht op de stad of het binnenplein. Hotel Hellsten heeft 78 kamers met gratis mineraalwater en een haardroger. Elke kamer heeft lcd-televisie met kanalen via de kabel. Elke accommodatie beschikt over een bureau en een telefoon. Een gratis snelle internetverbinding (via kabel) is beschikbaar. Elke badkamer is voorzien van een handdouche en designer toiletartikelen. Daarnaast zijn op verzoek voorzieningen beschikbaar zoals een strijkplank/strijkijzer, extra handdoeken/beddengoed en een telefonische wekdienst. Een huishoudservice is dagelijks beschikbaar.
Afhankelijk van het hotelbeleid kan voor extra personen een toeslag in rekening worden gebracht.
Bij het inchecken dien je in het geval van incidentele kosten een erkend identiteitsbewijs en een borgsom in contanten of creditcard voor te leggen.

Hier bevinden zich het Centraal Station, het beroemdste park van Stockholm, Kungsträdgården, en Sergels Torg (vergelijkbaar met Times Square of Piccadilly Circus). "Hotel Hellsten, recommended!"
Our stay in hotel Hellsten was really good! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and breakfast was unbeatable. Our specific room was a little bit small as well as the bathroom, but fortunately my friend and I are not very big so it was no problem for us. Shower was great and the bed slept very well. Hotel ligt in leuke buurt met goede metroverbinding. Het hotel is een mooi boutique hotel, echter de double bed room die wij hadden gereserveerd was wel erg klein. De badkamer was net groot genoeg om in je eentje te staan, geen genoeg ruimte om spullen neer te zetten, en een wastafeltje om alleen je handen te wassen. Verder prima kamer. Rustig gelegen hotel. Beetje verouderd maar OK. Ontbijt was correct maar voor een XXXX hotel had er een Amerikaans of iets uitgebreider ontbijt mogen zijn.

Moet 4 sterren hotel zijn maar ons inziens niet meer dan 3 sterren; geen airco, kleine algemene ruimtes, slecht aangeduide parkeergarage, chemisch ruikend bedlinnen; geen reden om terug naar te komen
"Great place to stay when exploring Stockholm"
We found the service wonderful, the room was comfortable. The hotel itself is situated just a little outside the busiest part of town, but on walking distance. Besides the subway is around the corner and the 'rent-a-bike' system is just a few hunderd meters from the hotel. Downsides: Well, there was some outside noise from the airco when we had the […] window open, but nothing that will keep you awake. Hotel Hellsten ligt op een perfecte lokatie, goede sfeer, aardig personeel. Heerlijk ontbijt. Gratis koffie en thee, gebruik van internet en sauna. Sfeervolle inrichting.
absolutelety NOT an 4-star hotel! Breakfast buffet almost did not exist. Reminded a 2-star hotel. Cannot even be compared with other 4-star hotels in the same area. Room very uncomfortable with very low ceiling etc..

Staying in Stockholm for a few days over New Years, catching up with some friends. I was surprised to find such a reasonable hotel near central Stockholm, 1 metro stop from the Stureplan and 2 stops from the Centraal, still only 15-25 minutes walk max to both. metro stop just around the corner. Bar was nice, try the food, it was a good quick dinner […] (for only 15 Euro) before I headed out one evening. The gym was small, but had treadmill and bikes, etc along with some machines, bigger than many chain hotels I have stayed in while in Europe, pleasant surprise. Would stay here again gladly. "Hellsten in Stockholm, quiet but near everything"
Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size, the shower a bit small. The hotel is tucked away on a sidestreet but just around the corner from shopping and only a 10-15 minute walk to the conference center at Norra Latin.

Very nice Hotel, nice quiet location, layout of floors a bit quirky, staff extremely pleasant and helpful- especially front desk and bar, breakfast and bar food very good, top floor bedroom very comfortable but en suite hopelessly small, especially with hard edge shelves overhanging washbasin - I bumped my head several times trying to clean my teeth. Very nice room, spacious and comfortable, although street noise was a problem. The staff is friendly and always helpful. Breakfast and coffee top rated. The area was very slightly out of the central zone, but with good restaurants and easily accessed.

The Hotel Hellsten was extremely nice and affordable. It had a tremendous breakfast, and the rooms were quiet nice! It was right next to the metro and a grocery store! I will definitely stay there again!

"Very poor hotel, terrible beds"
Please save yourself the money and a terrible night's sleep and book a different hotel. When considering a hotel, I always look through reviews and tend to ignore the really terrible ones - I only wish I'd taken notice of them in this case! This hotel is truly awful. The beds in particular were terrible - they were broken, the middle sagged and the […] springs pinged. The reception told us that all the beds were old and all in the same state, and their only advice was to put some wood under the thin mattress. Terrible night's sleep - more like sleeping on an old camp bed than a 4 star hotel's bed. Don't be fooled into thinking these are just 'Scandinavian style' beds - we moved onto Copenhagen after this and stayed in a bed that was similar in concept, but new, high quality and not broken, and enjoyed a fab night's sleep. Room was very dirty. Bathroom stained and shelves broken. Horrible thin, small towels. Breakfast room grubby, broken coffee pots etc. Staff pretty unhelpful - we had lots of luggage but no-one offered to give us a hand, just pointed at the stairs. We were shown one other room, but it had a similar old double bed, not 2 old single ones. The whole place looks like someone did it up to look trendy some years ago and not a penny has been spent on it since in terms of up-keep. We've travelled extensively and this is not a 4 star hotel, very far from it. In the UK, this would struggle to get 2 stars and we were very disappointed. The bed would disgrace any budget hotel in the UK and the attitude of staff of "well, that's your lot, they are all old" was poor. This is the first review I've ever posted but I feel really strongly that I don't want anyone else to waste their money staying in this place. We would have left after one night but it was marathon weekend and all other hotels were full. Only good thing was internet - really fast and free. Lees meer

"Will definitely come back to this hotel"
My kind of hotel. Small, comfortable, great location. Next time I'll ask for a room on higher floor (mine looked over the breakfast room). Otherwise it was perfect - and great value. I've stayed in many hotels in Stockholm is this is a keeper.

"Lovely hotel, close to the centre"
The rooms at Hellsten are lovely, quite small but the decor makes up for the size. The staff were very helpful when we had questions about restaurants and transport. Breakfast is excellent, a much bigger range than I expected for 'continental'. It's not far to walk to the centre of the city, or there is a metro stop very close by.
"Too Hot"
The room was way too hot at night. There was no AC and they did not have enough fans for the hotel. We eventually got one on our third night. Room was clean but very small. Not a 4 star hotel and only stayed here because it was a very cheap deal.

Located 1 1/2 blocks from the subway makes it very convenient. Located 1 block away from the main road makes it pretty quiet. Staff were very helpful and everything seemed pretty new or well maintained. The free internet came in useful. Unfortunately, our room was one of the few that faced into the enclosed courtyard where breakfast was served and […] so our windows wouldn't open and we usually kept the curtains closed. For the price, the hotel had several problems: - Very small vanity located very close to the toilet, making it difficult to wash face and shave. - Squeaky floors. - Low quality TV reception.

Nice Modern hotel. Building was older and inside was nice. Room was a little small and the shower created a flood. Decent hotel for the price.

Delightful room that subverted the usual sterile qualities of larger hotels. The staff was extremely helpful in helping us navigate the Stockholm and acquiring services. The location is central to just about every thing including exceptional restaurants, clothes and groceries. A relatively short and invigorating walk to Gamla Stan, the central part […] of the city, archipelago tours, and Central Station. Would return to this hotel without hesitation. An old building in the midst of Stockholm is renovated with modern amenities to provide a cozy experience to the visitor. The breakfast is in an enclosed courtyard, with an outdoor section, to allow a charming ambiance while consuming good quality bread, cheese and coffee.

"Personligt hotell med bra läge!"
Bodde i ett enkelrum som var ganska litet men nästan allt väsentligt fanns där! Skön säng, fint badrum men tyvärr är wifi-nätet dåligt (samma sak i ett annat rum jag bodde i några månader tidigare). Man får låna nätverkskablar i receptionen om man vill, men då gäller det att nätverksuttagen i rummen är lämpligt placerade. Bortsett från detta ett mycket […] trevligt och personligt hotell! "Teaterweekend"
Jag och maken bokade biljetter på oscarsteatern och letade hotell med promenadavstånd till denna. Hotell hellsten var perfekt, det tog 10-15 minuter att gå i höga klackar och makligt tempo. Servicen var precis som den ska vara, effektiv och professionell. Rummet, och hela hotellet, var inrett mysigt och rustikt och allt hängde ihop i en snygg helhet. […] Även frukosten i den inglasade matsalen var i det närmsta perfekt, kanske något för lite sittplatser, men de nygräddade våfflorna med färska bär gottgjorde alla eventuella brister.
