The bathrooms very dirty. The floor at the bed was wet. They do not leave clean towels in your room, you have to walk to the lobby for them. Breakfast was a joke! Terrible. Only one working elevator and that door would get stuck. Wallpaper and carpet peeling off walls. Hallways carpet had lots of stains and very dirty. Overall worst hotel I have ever […] stayed at. it was a very bad hotel ,the staff are very rude and rooms stinck of smell of cigarets ,it was a very bad exprence ,never go there and would never advice to a anyone else......

While the hotel was close to Carowinds and provided a very comfy bed to rest my tired body after the amusement park, the hotel was not that great. Upon entering the hotel with my wife and 3 young boys, there was a very strong skunk- like smell. There was broken glass in the parking lot. The sliding glass that opened to the balcony looked like it had […] been broken into and would not lock. Don't go out at night unless you want to see drunks and drug users roaming the grounds. Overall myself and the family enjoyed ourselves...the beds were comfortable..bathrooms were clean..the price was awesome...if life goes on I (we) will be back

Its not the Ritz Carlton, but it is a good hotel. It is very close to Carowinds and a few good restaurants. The staff was very nice and helpful. The only complaint that I would have is the breakfast was lacking options. We only stayed one night and didnt eat the breakfast because there was waffles, bagles, pastries, and Raisin Bran. Great for the price right across from carowins the two room sweet was the best it had a full kitchen!!!!!!!

The location was great and the rooms were very clean. However the front desk manager was horrible. She assigned us a room and when I asked to change to a smoking room, she obliged. However she neglected to change it in the computer and needless to say, the night clerk gave our room to someone else. I got what I paid for. It was dirty, "CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST" was sad, hallway carpets had chalk or something on them, dust on tables in the hallways, hair on bathroom floor.

the hotel is still undergoing renovations, and you can see the work in progress-lobby, outer grounds and sidewalks are refinished, and they are working on the rooms. wallpaper was peeling in a couple of places in common areas, but with changes underway, easy to overlook. room and furniture were clean, sheets and bed were comfortable, the balcony isn't […] very deep, but is nice to be able to step outside or open the sliding door for fresh air. LOTS of hot water-always a huge plus! We walked to dinner and to the convenience store from our hotel with no issue-feels like a very safe location. right off the interstate, so access is a breeze-never heard the traffic from our room, which is really nice! This is an older hotel. However, the price was significantly better than the others in the area and the quality of the hotel was better than at least one of the "newer" hotels nearby. Rooms are large, rates are great.

The hotel was old and outdated. The room was clean and the stay was not bad for the price. Had a balcony room on the 8th floor overlooking the pool area. The pool was closed, I guess it was not in season though it was hot outside. There was a homeless man that was sleeping by the pool... he was there all night. The Good: Room had a nice view and the front desk folks were very nice. The Bad: It was a dark old room that they tried to fix up but looks like they ran out of money to finish. I used to be a flight attendant and have stayed at a lot of hotels around the world and this was the first time that I was solicited by a "working girl". Hotel was dated, but had renovations being done. we stayed in a renovated king room and it was clean, bed was comfortable, breakfast downstairs. Staff very nice. Would stay again.

This was a lovely hotel. Staff was very friendly and prompt in responding to requests. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. I would most definitely stay again and reccommend others to stay.

We did not pay much for the stay but it was nice. Skip the morning breakfast because of all of the contruction around but in all I was very pleased with the condition of the room! We got the most BANG for our buck!

Many years ago this was probably a nice hotel - too bad there has been no noticably maintainance on it lately. The walls were literally crumbling and falling apart! There was ripped wallpaper, elevator and closet doors missing, and an overall depressingly unkempt appearance. I stayed for one night only, but I like it. Before I came to the hotel I read some comment about how BAD is the service, although I didn't like the breakfast, the room was clean and in good condition, plus I wan in the fourth floor so the view was great. I like this hotel.

I'm from this area and I'm familiar with this hotel. It has had a few names of the years; however, the stay was great. The room was very clean and the people were very friendly. I was able to book this room at a great rate for 3 nights. I'd choose this hotel again and recommend it to friends and family. They are doing some construction on the hotel. […] Believe it or not, it's about to change names again and I know it remain a great hotel!! only complain was the bottom sheet on the first night was a flat sheet, mattress was extra thick and comfortable but you moved around. Asked to make the bottom sheet was fitted next day and it slpet much better. Great showerhead

Since it was off season, the rates were good, but the hotel had definite challenges with their elevators being out of service. This was particularly disturbing when placed on the tenth floor and all elevators were out-of-service when I went downstairs for a breakfast. Why place customers on the uper floors when you know your elevators are "challenged?" […] The breakfast was very sparse and offered little variety from other hotels in the area in this price range. The general areas were all in need of repair or upgrading, such as well worn carpets in the halls. Being in the winter, it was difficult to get the room reasonably warm for the night. Lees meer

NOT a three star hotel! Badly in need of some TLC! Good thing it was 30% off because it wasn't worth any more than that.

My family and I went to Carowinds and Scarowinds we checked to a friendly face.It smelled pleasant we enter very clean.Did get a exercise climbing steps b/c the elevator took forever to come.Rooms was very clean and soft sheets we had 2 rooms that had a door that joined the rooms was nice.They had shoneys and a convent store in walking distance of the […] hotel.Food was Delicious at shoneys.Did call a button on the phone for restaurant and when the lady picked up she puts me on hold and is explaining something to someone that had nothing to do with her job so i waited then when she came back to me she was nice and helped me a little but i wanted to know some affordable places with good service and food for my family to go to she wasnt much help not with calling in food for pizza and no help with numbers so was disappointed with that but overall enjoyed my stay we had breakfast at shoneys so was looking for something different for supper but shoneys held us down and it was VERY DELICIOUS!!!! Hotel location was great....Room was nice with king bed, fridge, internet, etc. Customer staying above me caused tub water overflow. Water drained down into my closet & got my clothes soaking wet. Management was great to get me another room. Plus compensate me for dry cleaning & my stay. I really like the location and plan to stay again.

The hotel was not clean, only one elevator worked, the heater in my room did not work. This hotel is not quite in walking distance to Carowinds, unless you are ready to dodge 8 lanes of agressive traffic. I will not stay there again. However, this was the least expensive hotel in the area - you get what you pay for.

Don't waste your time or money. We stayed here so the kids could go to Scarowinds. I think the rooms may have been scarier. We reserved two rooms. One of the rooms had to be changed right away because the ceiling in the bathroom had literally fell into the tub. The walls in the bathrooms, remember we saw a total of three during our stay, all had evidence […] of water damage from the room above. Lots of mildew on the walls in the bathroom. There were cockroaches in the dresser drawers of one rooms. I don't believe this hotel has seen any renovations since it was built. Renovations are long overdue!! Lees meer

Was once a nice hotel in 1975 when it was built. But over the years maintenance has not been kept up to standards. Located right across the street from Carowinds in South Carolina, so very convenient. But it stops there. Our room was very dated. One bed the frame was giving out and would slip when you sat down on it. The bathroom had been painted blue, […] yellow and now white. You could tell as there was streaks of paint left on the tile that was never cleaned up. Shower floor leaned. Hotel had a old smell to it as soon as you walked into the lobby. Price was cheap but should never of been rated 3 stars. That was from years ago. If you only want to catch a couple hours sleep at a cheap price when traveling on I-77 it may be alright, but other than that, keep looking. Lees meer

who ever owns this hotel should be forcede to live there for one week. The receptionist wanted to put us on the tenth floor and then proceeds to tell us that she was afraid to ride the elevator. Spend some money and renovate

This hotel is very conveniently located off US 77 in Fort Mill. The facility is somewhat older and could use some love, but is clean and the staff was helpful. This hotel is in desperate need of an overhaul. The location is great, and the staff accommodated our request for a room facing Carowinds so the kids could see the fireworks. The first thing I had to do was call maintenance because the toilet wouldn't flush. Thankfully, he was quick and polite. That is really all there was to the "good stuff". We just needed a place to crash for the night following a wedding and the hotel served its purpose. It's a cheap price and was decent enough. There was plenty of opportunity to nit pick negatives, but overall was fine for 6-8 hours of sleep.

l I am not one of those people that are picky or skittish when it comes to hotels. I go there, I sleep and I go on my way. This is the first time that I have stayed at a hotel that was so bad that I have actually taken the time to write a bad review. First the good stuff, it is extremely close to the park (2 min drive). End of the good stuff. Now the […] rest of the stuff. I reserved two rooms, non smoking with no pets. What I got was two rooms that smelled like dog urine and had dog food on the carpet. Come on now. I have slept in third world establishments, in combat zones, that were cleaner than this. Second, and worst of all was the general attitude of the staff. When I reported the state of my rooms to the front desk the attendant told me to take it up with Hotels.com or call the manager on Tuesday (this was on a Sunday morning). Look, for the price, I wasn't expecting much, but when I see that it's supposed to be a 3 star hotel I am not expecting to find animal food and urine in my rooms. The room were nice and clean, thank you. The tv did not have a remote control and there were no iron in the room. Linen for the bathroom was only put in for two people and not three. the staff was friendly. Location is great. There is a mexican restaurant next door which is delicious. the facilities were old but new bed and very confortable. I could watch the carowinds fireworks from the balcony.

for the price and the distance to carowinds you couldnt ask for more.
