RIU Ocho Rios All Inclusive in Ocho Rios

Excellent is the only word I have to describe it. I forgot to hand in my towel cards so front desk staff should go through a handover procedure for those of us that might forget these things after having such a wonderful time. I would stay there again and again and again.

We truly enjoyed going to Riu. The service was good, the staffs were pleasant, the different venues of restaurants were enjoyable. Above all, the entertainers made my vacation worth while. They were very talented during the evening shows and very pleasant to every guests throughout our stay!

I have to say, this was the most memorable trip we've had throughout all our many trips to Jamaica. This hotel was the "bomb"!!!! We loved every minute of our stay there. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was magnificent, and the employees were excellent. They made us feel welcomed and the service was superb. Can't complain not one bit, and I definitely […] would recommend this hotel to my friends and family. My visit to Rio was a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I recommend Rio without any reservation.

The quality of service was not consistent. We had to wait a long time to check in and then did not get the type room we requested. We did get another room, however some of the pillows in the new room did not have pillow cases and not enough towels. The beach towels all had stains on them. The lock for the safe did not work at first. Some pros: nice […] decor, beautiful beach, several different types of food, good entertainment, nice entertainment staff and bartenders. The food was great, the service was wonderful. I would go back, the only problem is the room had a major ant problem. It was nasty, they would come and spray the room but i felt like ant were in the bed with me. i don't know if that is just Jamaica of that was this hotel. But I loved the hotel

Hotel Riu is very beautiful to look at from the outside however their customer service is very poor. It took three days for me to completely check into my room. The food was not at all what I expected for staying at a hotel in Jamaica. There were very few Jamaican dishes offered and most of the fruits offered tasted like they were not in season in other […] words forced ripe. Drinks at the bars were okay. The nightly entertainment sucked. I did not feel at all like I was in Jamaica and I am a native of the island I'm still waiting to feel that Jamaica vibe. Checking in was unpleasant. The staff at check-in appeared very inexperienced. Food choices were limited and the number of restaurants were limited. The dining areas were dirty with flies all over.

This was my second time at the RIU and it only seems to get better.The only thing I would improve on would be the nightly entertainment.When in Jamaica I need to listen to some kind of music that emulates Jamaica.The food was awesome and everyone seems to work like hands and gloves from the dining areas to the person that cleaned the room.Hope to see […] ya'll next year Lees meer

Overall good experience. Not sure how you could ever book one of the gourmet resturants with a weekend stay as they were always booked days in advance and it must be done in person. Also, could not believe they let several street hawkers roam the beach annoying people on the Saturday I was there. Experience was very very good. Only negative was the room was not sound-proof enough. Noise in paasge way during the first night was disruptive. Could not fall asleep. Highly recommemded and will visit again.

My stay at the hotel was wonderful. The staffs were great, Food great The Wedding co-ordinator could do a better job. Planning and Informations were slappy; Everyone just left hanging, not knowing where to go for the wedding. No decoration for the wedding was in poor taste.

This hotel is located in a prime part of Ocho Rious it's near all the sights in the area.The hotel is as the advert says,"wake up happy".There's a mini bar in each room,which is topped up every other day with soft drinks,and spirits. the most beautiful scenery, of all the hotels I' ve seen in Jamaica. The service was excellent only wish there was a designated area for NON-SMOKERS

My Son and a few of my good friends had such an amazing experience at RIU OCHO RIOS. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a warm and welcoming smile and Jermaine handed us drinks while we were checking in. Donnalee at the Front Desk was so nice, she has such a good disposition. I was even suprised when they showed up at my room with a Happy […] Birthday Cake. very close to downtown Ochio Rios, Dunns River Falls

the staff there are excelent i have actually stopped there before so i knew the kind of service to expect.

The distance from my home was ok and hotel is close to many popular attractions - Dunn's River Fall, Dolphin Cove & Mystic Mountain

This hotel was not anywhere near what it was marketed for. All of the restaurants had essentially the cuisine and were buffet style. Most restaurants required reservations to get a table. The staff at the hotel was rude, incompetent and did not seem to understand when asked a question about where something was. The bartenders loaded drinks with fillers […] and got aggravated when asked not to put them in the drinks and did not have the bars stocked to make half of the drinks on the menu. If you are looking for a cultural experiance with Jamaica, then do not go to this resort. All of the entertainment was Americanized and did not reflect the culture of the island. Lees meer

What to know: 1.)Bring you printed confirmation of your reservation. You need this to check in. Without it they will not be able to retrieve your reservation, seriously. Last name is not enough. 2.) Reservations for dinner must be made in the morning. The Asian menu is a buffet, skip it. Japanese, Gourmet, and Steakhouse (this is what the menus are […] called) are full on sit down table service. We had to flee the all inclusive food scene on the last night. It was pretty bad. We at at Evita's in Ocho Rios the last night. (don't miss this one!!! Best meal in a looong time!) It's a jem! Evita's is Italian and is set up on a hill in the jungle in an old gingerbread house. The patina, candlelight, and light strumming and singing of a Rhasta musician here set this up to be a truly beautiful dining experience. 3.) There is no clock in the room or anywhere in the resort other then right above the front desk. Bring a watch if you are not carrying your cell phone everywhere with you. 4.) WiFi is only available in the lobby. 5.) Panhandlers are all over the hotel beach property. 6.) Bring an extra towel or two, housekeeping might "run out". Our Stay: Our hotel room, an ocean view junior sweet with a king bed, was nice. The room was large and had a great view. It was for the most part clean. There was mold all around the edges of the bottom mattress though. There wasn't a clock in the room or a directory list of how to call front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, etc. Dialing 0 did nothing. If you needed something you had to hoof it. We found the staff to be not as much rude but more or less unhelpful. As a whole most of the interactions with staff left us wondering why they were even working in hospitality. For example, I asked a front desk agent about a well known restuarant in the area and whether or not it was open for dinner yet and if it had a dress code. This RIU resort wasn't bad, there were a number of things that were positive, however there were a few issues that need to be resolved as it relates to areas for improvement. The positives: - Super friendly staff who always seem willing to help and ensure that you are satisfied - Great location - Nice beach - Available sports and activities such as […] beach volleyball, table tennis, water volley ball etc. - Grounds were well kept and nicely landscaped. - View from room was excellent - Beds were comfortable - Lots of restaurants and eating options Areas for improvement - More family oriented activities would be great - More facilities and entertainment for children are necessary (kids club way too small) - Water slides would be welcomed - Other Jacuzzis need to be located outside the main pool area - Hammocks were hard to find - More water sports could be added Overall, it was a great experience - however some shortcomings prevented it from being stellar. First of all there was a disparity in the rooms. Our party had 2 rooms which were close together on the same floor. One of the rooms was supposed to be non-smoking, and it certainly didn't smell that way. One had a television remote with at max 5 buttons. There were no number buttons to enter channels. The phones were also different and one room's toilet handle seemed to be slightly broken. In terms of service, we would also have appreciated if we were allowed to checkout later than the appointed time without a penalty. The property could also do with more space, the hotel itself was huge, but 75-80% of the property seemed to taken up by rooms. Overall, with great food and a friendly staff, I can't complain. The hotel was clean and the rooms were nice. The only downfall was the food. Breakfast was amazing but other than that the food was pretty bad. Edible, but barely!

No iron in room, nor TV remote upon arrival. Took staff just over 24 hours to bring remote. No iron arrived. Tried to call the operator for approx. 5 hours with no response.

OK hotel at this price point especially if one needs to be in the specific location. Service, however, leaves a lot to be desired. Check in was a process never to be repeated. I'll admit that I don't usually stay in hotels geared to the mass market tourist and therefore am probably used to receiving a higher level of service. This, however, was so bad […] it became ridiculous. The front desk "supervisor" was confused, the manager was uninvolved and was viewed having his arms stroked by a female employee,the policies were designed to frustrate and once I overheard a guest returning a room key since she entered"her: room to discover it occupied by a couple making love, I knew I was in for an interesting experience. On my turn to check in I was told that despite the hotels Kids stay free and eat free policy, my approved verbal and written request to have my child added to the reservation and the Hotels.com email confirming they had forwarded my requests, that my child couldn't stay since his specific ame was not listed on the original reservation.After a two hour process, I was offered the opportunity to pay extra. The Riu Hotel in Ocho Rios is a beautiful large hotel that is maintained very nicely. The room was very clean and comfortable, my only comment was there is a moldy smell upon first entering the room. The smell seemed to lessen over time, it is hard to say if we got used to it or having our things in the roomed lessened the odor. I spoke to the front […] desk about it and they offered to freshen the room and change any linens if needed. The staff at the Riu is outstanding....friendly, polite, informative, fun and always available. I was impressed with how hard they truly worked and tried to accommodate everyones needs. There are bars and restaurants throughout the hotel. The buffet is the largest I have ever seen. The food was fresh and very appealing. There was always something different to try and I really enjoyed the local cuisine choices. The beach is big and beautiful with some rocks and seaweed. I didn't find it to be a problem, but you may want to bring beach shoes. The entertainment is very good and the staff works very hard to keep the guests happy and content. We really enjoyed our stay at the Riu and looked forward to visiting other Riu hotels. Lees meer

Awesome,awesome. Food is excellent so are all other services except bellhop - took over an hour to get our luggage with 3 kids, one being 10mths this was VERY VERY inconvenient.

Excelentes instalaciones, la atención es perfecta, la gente muy atenta y amable... La comida divina y mucha variedad, los cocteles son buenísimo, la playa espectacular, cristalina... Lo único que no recomiendo es el restaurant de Sushi Tushima, no vale la pena la cola que hay que hacer para reservar.
