We had a fantastic time. The only reason I gave the hotel staff a 4, was it took forever to check-in and she had to call over a supervisor to "get us the best room possible"??? Don't know what that was all about... And the only reason I gave the comfort of my room a 4 was because I don't like feather pillows -- that was my only option in the room. BEWARE! They don't tell you about the resort fee nor the $50 cleaning fee because it's a "vacation rental"!!! Cleaning means they empty the trash and drop off a bag of clean towels...they won't make the bed! The AC system has only off or on and makes for a poor night's sleep. The room was nice, and the location is great if you want to spend time at the Sandestine Wharf. My two major complaints were an odor that would come and go but was really bad when present and sound from the adjoining unit. There was a connecting door to the unit next door that allowed significant noise through from the loud neighbors. Finding our rooms were very confusing. We were sent to 3 different locations before we were sent to the correct one. Once we arrived the actual location was under mild construction and the employees completing the construction was observed w/ a visible can of beer. Wow. There is not a attendant at the desk 24hrs nor was there anyone present to physically […] check us out of our room.I had additional questions & wanted to obtain a paper printout of my charges. The photo shown was definitely not visible to my eyes, because we even tried to scout the location shown. Overall we had a nice stay. The room was clean & accommodating just not what i expected. To give you a clearer understanding our room was a HOTEL. If you plan to spend a lot of time on the beach & don't wish to have the added expense; bring your own beach chairs,towels, etc the equipment rentals end at 5pm daily. We took our daughters (5, 3, & 1) for Spring Break to the Sandestin and loved it. Our 1Br in the Luau building was excellent and very accomodating. Full kitchen, beautiful balcony view, comphy beds, dining area, gas grill outside, 5 minute stroll to the best beaches and shoreline EVER, great pool, and convenient gated parking. We were very close to […] on-site dining and activities and never felt withouit anything. A major store was 5 minutes away and safe at all hours. Outlet mall was close and so was all chain-dining. I guess you get what you pay for! The resort and grounds are beautiful, but was not impresssed with the Bayside Hotel. It was clean, and David at the front desk was friendly. We were not impressed with the new remodeled appearance. If it werent spring break I would have never even paid what we paid to stay here. The resort fees were fair. They include […] the trolley rides around the grounds. For such a beautiful resort, I would of thought that this hotel would have been a little nicer. We thought going with this small of a room would have been fine for a family of four, but it rained, so we were stuck in the room for a few days. Dont get me wrong..if you dont mind dark hallways in the lower floors, wood doors on your room, and the lobby being renovated then you may be fine with this. It is clean, and I loved the gounds! I was expecting the little kitchen to be equipped. However it was not. The cabinets were empty. Last time we rented a room at Bayside, the little kitchen has dishes, silverware & cups. Also the coffee machine didn't work. It was still a very nice room & enjoyed staying onsite. Enjoyed the free transportation to the village. Hope to be back soon

Room was clean. No additional luxury. Ex. A bottle of water. Made service very late in day. Staff did not know where things were or give direction. Trolley a plus as the property is huge. I called twice before checking in and planned my trip from Atlanta. The front desk staff assured me that we would be able to check in well before the 4PM std check in time. We drove 7 hours, and arrived at 1PM...only to wait until 350PM to check in. In addition, this hotel was sold as a "beachfront" property, when actually it is located on a large […] and nice resort property which is on the beach, but literally we had to drive about 1/4 mile to get kids and all belongings to the beach. I had checked this directly while booking with HOTELS.COM and they too assured me it was a beach front property....which it wasnt.....so buyer beware. One last comment. The rate from Hotels.com does NOT include what amounted tosignificant added charges for std cleaning and maintenance on this property. If I recall, this msg DID come up at the time of booking, but it did not specify this amount of charge, which seems excessive for a 5 night stay...in addition to the regular room rate per night..... We booked the Sandestin resort during spring break. Paid a high rate for a two bedroom condo in Beachside knowing most things were booked. The staff didn't provide important parking and beach access information at check-in and also gave the wrong room location. Waited on hold for 5 minutes to speak with a staff member to get help. Half the lights in […] the condo didn't work, the outside patio was dirty, the alarm clocks didn't work, the toilet in the master bath didn't work properly and the bed in the master bedroom was horrid. The wifi was terrible. I can't imagine that the resort management would be happy with the condition of the room. On the other hand the close location to the beach was great. Lees meer

This is a very nice Hotel, I would stay here again. Only wish I had known about the resort fee before I made the reservation. This was a little annoying to find out when you check in. However it was worth paying the extra money.

The Hotel was under construction and the check in was hideous. I had to drive back and forward in a thunderstorm. However, last year everything went smoothly.

Beautiful location, great property, staff helpful, clean everything great except our air conditioner did'nt keep the room cool, and the bed was super uncomfortable ... oe of the worst I've slept on. We stayed in the one of the beach side towers. Originally booked bayside but upgraded to beach side. Should have stayed where we were. Bayside so peaceful […] and short drive to the beach. Lees meer

I expected a lot less out of this place when looking at reviews. When I got there, about 9 oclock on a friday night, we were greeted in the lobby by a piano player playing different tunes. Really created a great opening atmosphere. When we got in our room i was really impressed with how nice it was. We stated at the grand hotel which was right around […] the corner from the shops and bars and restaurants. I was in awe of how nice this place was and how everything was in the resort. My stay here started off wrong. I wasnt even allowed to check in til after 7 p.m. There was a HUGE hidden charge that I had to pay for a clean up fee which I thought was ridiculous! This was a wonderful hotel in a wonderful resort, with all the included amenities to get around, like 4 free hrs of bike rental a day and a tram service. As long as you don't mind paying about $20 in hotel cleaning fees, you will really enjoy this trip.

My husband and i had such a great time at this resort. We are definantly going to come back to this resort. The condo was great and so was the service and food. The shopping was great too.

The area was desolate. Our building, although four stories high, just had one other couple at the time we were there. The hotel lobby was unmanned. We needed to go across the highway to another building to check in and whenever we needed anything. A plus was the restaurant, Another Broken Egg, (there are two, we went to the more casual one) at the […] Market. Food was very good. Staff was great! The area at the Market had lots of potential but it also was deserted. I guess we picked a bad time and need to go back again after Memorial Day to see if it was just an off-season problem. As usual, the facility and staff were outstanding. I always enjoy staying there.

We stayed at the Beach Walk Villas for New Year's Eve weekend. Our villa was clean but was dated. I will be more savy when we stay here again and ask for an updated property. I also did not realize that there would not be daily maid service. Again, I should have checked that out when I booked the property. But, I would very much stay here again as quiet, […] great area to walk or run, we were in close proximity to a great sports bar to eat and Starbucks. The grounds that you have the opportunity to utilize are expansive with nearly any activity one could desire! I would strongly recommend this location. Lees meer

We spent three nights at the Sandestin Inn and could not have been happier with our stay. The room was very nice and clean with a good view. We got a great price on our room and we loved all the activities that we had access to at the resort. We had our choice of 4 golf courses along with free access to bikes on the property. The bike trails were great […] and we enjoyed riding them down to the beach and walking on the sand. There were many restaurants, bars, and shops in the resort and the scenery was beautiful. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone that has the opportunity to visit! Lees meer

Tons of extra amenities for the people staying there. Everything was close by and there was alot to do. We came to stay during the off season so it was very quiet and there were not alot of services open and not alot of people. It was still great and we would probably only come during the off season because even though all the surrounding things were […] great, the hotel room itself was just not up to the standards the rest of the resort had set. Arrived late at night and the checkin location off the main road was closed with a sign saying to checkin at the grande. There are two entrances on both sides of the road, so I asked the gate attendant on that side of the road where I check in. He asked what building I was in. I said I dont know, I just read the sign, and showed in the reservation "Sandestin […] Golf and Beach Resort" he said ok you need to cross the road to the other gate. I go there, explain to the guard at the gate I need to checkin, he asks what building to. I told him the Grande, he gives me directions. I get to the grande and checkin - nice building. At the end, the guy says, we have you in the Bayside in. Here's a map, and he shows me where to go. I asked if my group could stay in the Grande (It appeared empty) and was told that they have us in the Bayside Inn at the rate booked. I drive to the Bayside inn, the front desk empty and the building appearing vacant. I start up the split unit in the wall and enjoy an immediate 'banging and whirring' sound it made plus a relatively unfriendly odor. I notice it does not improve with time and that my sinuses are screwed up. Two other rooms booked on the same reservation are similar. Mold in drains, in the coffee machines in 2/3 rooms as well. Seemed like no one had stayed in these rooms for some time. The resort itself, grounds, etc was nice. Shame the Bayside Inn was just terrible. Subpar what would be found in a typical motel 6. The location was pretty nice, but complicated to check in (have to drive for minutes to do so) and the staff was not that friendly.

The Resort by itself is great. I booked two rooms and have been disappointed with cleanness. My room was smelly and shades were broken.

I was NOT pleased with the hotel at all. When I booked the it I was NOT informed that is was a condo that was personally owned and being time-shared out. And I spoke to someone at the hotel to get additional information before I booked it. It would have been accpetable for a group of people to share the expense had I known what I was getting. Very impressed at checkin 1:00 pm that room was ready. Resort offered amenities such as peddle bikes for 4 hours boogie boards for beach, umbrella and chair at beach. Overall lots to do golf fitness centre and spa

Everything from the location to the atmosphere was great and I can't say enough good things about this place. Even though the Bayside Inn was the cheapest place in Sandestin it was well worth it. The room had a microwave, frige, utensils, plates and cups along with a balcony for every room. I loved that the resort fee was affordable and for the fist […] time well worth it. They also had free parking, a big plus cause I hate when resorts charge for parking. The Village was nice place to hang out at, they had something for all age groups. The beach was also beautiful, less than a mile away and it was clean and free of trash. I can't wait to get back next year and this time take the kiddos with us. Lees meer

Love Love Love! I grew up going to Destin and never knew about this wonderful resort! We stayed at the Bayside Inn. The only downside was that it was kind of hot, but the resort itself was marvelous! There are so many bars, restraunts and activities that you do not need to leave the resort! I can't wait to go back!

As a guest at this resort, you get 4 hours of free bike rentals for 2 each day, 1 hour of a rental of a canoe or kayak per day, has a real nice village of its own with lots of restaurants and shops. We had a great time there. Plus 4 golf courses on the property to choose from. WE enjoyed it a lot.
