I have booked 3 rooms n requested for same floor for all 3 rooms but only manage to have 2 rooms on the same floor only. Night duty Receptionist took abt 30mins to check in 3 rooms, n keep photocopying guest's passport n ask me for China visa copy whereby i do not required. If I need visa to travel to China n I do not have visa, I will not be able to […] enter into China n appear in front of the reception to do check-in. The hotel seems to cater primarily to the Asian population. This is good, if you don't mind that few people know enough English to even help you get a cab to a particular destination. Very limited concierge services for English speaking clients....in fact, sent us to a different hotel when we required assistance. The hotel asked for a 500$ CAD deposit […] upon arrival, which I am not used to, especially as we had paid for the hotel prior to arrival. Expect to spend considerable time checking out in order to get this money back! Breakfast costs about 23$ CAD per person (66$ for the 3 of us) ...which was/is alarming, but when we checked with other hotels in the area...this was actually a very good price!! Unfortunately the room does not have a fridge so you don't have a lot of choice for breakfast, unless you want to hunt down a restaurant for breakfast outside the hotel. To add to the irritation of price was the breakfast hostess who had a bit of an attitude issue, like she thought everyone was trying to cheat her out of payment...which was not all that ingratiating. Laundry cost us 216$ CAD for three people and 5 days of clothing! The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to Wangfujing street, plus many restaurants and shopping, and a short cab ride to Tiannamen Sq, Forbidden city etc. The area has changed incredibly in the past 6 years, however...now looks more like an obscene New York Times Square than China. The hotel was in a great neighborhood and had a lovely lobby. Not everyone at the front desk spoke English, but they all tried and were very accommodating. The hotel was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful but we thought Wangfujing was a street and in fact it is a district so we were not as close to Tien an Men and Forbidden city as we would have liked.

Hotel was nice. The people at the pool seemed a little too eager to help you and it kind of felt like the hoovered at times. The hotel is a little farther from Tian'an Men Square and The Forbidden City than I anticipated but a quick 5minute walk to the subway station fixed that. Overall i was very satisfied with this hotel.

Staff speaks English, but with heavy accents. It took several attempts to ensure I understood what they were trying to communicate to me and vice versa. This hotel is close to Wangfujing, Tiananmen and a few subway stops, but I wouldn't say any of these are within walking distance for most Americans unless you live an active lifestyle. There are bikes […] for rent at this place that only cost you the deposit, thus making your "rental" free as long as you reasonably take care of the bike. Warning about these bikes: they aren't your super expensive Fuji mountain bike, they're the cheap, "just get me from Point A to B" kind of bikes. These are certainly great for short excursions. Beijing is a very bike-friendly city as long as you don't mind riding with traffic or with the heavy smog. There are bikes everywhere and the city is, for the most part, very flat. The water from the shower cut off after a few minutes for me. I've since come to understand that water ration limits were imposed during my stay. My showers were only about 5-10 minutes long. There is a tour desk for those who want to visit places like the Great Wall and Ming Tombs. The Great Wall tour was reasonably priced and lasted about 10 hours, with various stops along the way. Again, the guide was knowledgable, but hard to understand at times. Overall, I was generally pleased with the hotel, but didn't spend much time there because I was out and about most of the time. We arrived at the hotel not knowing what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. The clerks at the front desk spoke enough English to be able to conduct business. I don't know if it's just this hotel or all Beijing hotels that do not switch on room airconditioning until April. It's stuffy and hot and the room window is small. Totally uncomfortable. Street noise also prevents a good night's sleep.

Only one spot in the lobby where you can get wi-fi. And still very slow. I stood at that spot every night to check on my e-mails. Even though they have provided a cable connection in you room, but I think a good Wi-Fi is a minimum nowadays in any hotel.

Hotel is located at the end of a VERY fancy street (Rolls Royce, Lamborghini, Channel etc) are located here. Hotel is an easy two block walk to the subway, and being that it was at the end of this street it was way more affordable than some of the others. We choose to stay here rather than pay the premium for a western brand - and it was a good choice. […] Nothing more I could have expected from any other hotel. Rooms/lobby are impeccably maintained (hallway carpets were a bit worn I'd noticed but by the end of the week they left a notice apologizing for any inconvenience and that that they were replacing the carpets floor by floor!) Room was a very nice size with a very new looking bathroom. Room also had its own thermostat - excellent since I was there in the middle of the coldest week I had my room at 25C when i got home! While we certainly could have spent less, it was well worth it to come back to a room we felt very comfortable in. Our room (not sure that all do - I believe they mentioned we'd been upgraded to the executive floor) had a desk with a computer and a usb plug that we used on our laptop for internet. Only one note - there was one woman at the front desk who helped is book a tour to one of the sites - helpful we thought until we realized it was kind of an under the table deal. That was fine, but when we went to the concierge to book something else she came running over and tried to have us book through her again, and not with the regular booking staff. Nothing bad, just a bit odd - and of course if I'd realized we were booking something under the table with her I'd have negotiated for a better price!! This hotel may be targeting businessmen (locals more than internationals) so the prices of the restaurants are quite steep. We opted to go outside and get a crepe from the street rather than pay for breakfast. It looked nice, but perhaps too nice for just a morning nourishment. I reached the hotel at around 9am. But the hotel staff was nice to let us check in so early. The room is pretty new and there are many TV channels to watch. The hotel is probably around 300m away from the tube station (approx 5-10mins) walk. The hotel is along the high end shops street and is also near to Wangfujing.
