In een voormalig klooster verblijf je als gast in een van de nonnen "cellen". Werkelijk een prachtig gerestaureerd hotel waarbij je de sfeer van weleer kunt inademen. Een minpuntje is de gehorigheid van de afvoerleidingenen in het gebouw. Bij uitboeken trachtte de baliemedewerker om ons opnieuw de - reeds online betaalde- kosten per creditkaart te laten […] betalen. Prima hotel voor stedentrip naar Pisa. Sobere kamers (met airco die absoluut nodig is vanwege de drukkende warmte in de stad) Wij hadden een kamer aan de straatzijde, waardoor het raam niet openkon vanwege geluid van de vespa's die af en toe langsscheurden (niet heel hinderlijk) Service was prima. Dit hotel was een erg leuke ervaring, je krijgt een beeld hoe de nonnetjes en broeders vroeger geleefd moeten hebben. Fantastisch dat er nog zo veel details van het voormalige klooster bewaard zijn gebleven ondanks dat het nu een hotel is. Het hotelpersoneel is beleefd en geeft de juiste informatie. Ontbijt was goed.

Een leuk hotel met een mooie uitstraling vn een oud klooster. Kamers zijn eenvoudig, maar functioneel. Fiets gehuurd in hotel.

1 negatief aspect is dat het hotel onder een vliegroute van het vliegveld ligt. Tot een uur of 11 's avonds en vanaf ca. 6 uur 's ochtends denderden de vliegtuigen vlak boven het hotel. Dus wie lang en rustig wil slapen is hier op het verkeerde adres.

Mooi orgigineel klooster. Kamer schoon en alles was er.Veel van het klooster is nog in originele staat, het straalt serene rust uit. Ontbijt was er heerlijk zowel hartig als zoet beleg en lekker vers brood. Ligt wel buiten het centrum in een rustige wijk maar het was goed te lopen langs de Arno naar het centrum. Zéér rustig, simpel en toch op wandelafstand van bezienswaardigheden

Slapen in dit voormalig klooster is een ervaring. Met een beetje verbeelding zie je de monniken nog lopen. De uitstraling is rust. De kamer is sober. Je hebt een goed bed, goede douche en t.v. (dingen die de monniken vermoedelijk niet hadden). Het gebouw is de moeite waard. Zeker gezien de prijs valt er niets op dit hotel en ontbijt aan te merken. Converted monastary. Basic but clean and comfortable. Pleasant staff. Good location for visiting surrounding area. Parking can be an issue as the available space is limited.

3 dagen Pisa en dan centrum op loopafstand. En het hotel zo heerlijk rustig! Zeer aparte sfeer in dit 'klooster' en fijn buiten eten! Ook overdag kun je in de tuinen zitten. Ook alle andere gasten waren zeer rustig, geen lawaai. Enige lawaai was de muziek uit de keuken tijdens ontbijt en diner, maar na melding hiervan was de muziek heel zacht of uit. Het is een prima middenklasse hotel. Sfeervol aangezien het oude klooster voor een deel in oude staat is gerenoveerd. De binnentuin/patio is een oase van rust. Leuk is dat er wat tafeltjes staan onder de galerij, waar ontbijt en diner wordt geserveerd. Ontbijt was overigens goed verzorgd. Ik vond wel de ligging 'dichtbij het centrum' nogal optimistisch […] gesteld. Het bleek toch nog wel zeker 45 minuten lopen naar het centrum, de dome en toren van Pisa. Heel mooi hotel, een oud klooster. Hele mooie tuinen, precies zoals op de foto's. Hele goede service, heel aardig personeel en goede hulp bij alles. Goede ligging: loopafstand van de binnenstad, het treinstation, bussen en met de bus goed bereikbaar vanaf het vliegveld. Zeker aan te raden!

Een heel bijzondere ontspannen sfeer, heerlijk buitenzitten op de kloostertuin omgang. Toch is het maar 8 minuten lopen naar het oude centrum van Pisa.De kamers zijn gemaakt in de oude kloostercellen, de badkamer was keurig, De taxi naar de luchthaven was perfect geregeld. de sfeer was heel relaxed, de ontvangst aardig, veel hulp van de receptionist i.v.m. gecancelde vluchten. Goed ontbijt heerlijk in het zonnetje, in de hoek van de binnenplaats. Dit is een mooi oud gebouw op een handige locatie, ongeveer 10 minuten loopafstand van de stad. Het is ook dicht bij de Paleis Dei Congressi dus perfect voor congresbezoekers. De eenpersoonskamers zijn heel eenvoudig met alleen de basis faciliteiten (eenpersoons bed, wastafel, tv), een kleine raam en grijs baton muren. De medewerkers waren behulpzaam maar wisselend qua vriendelijkheid. Het ontbijt was lekker en uitgebreid, met niet alleen zoetigheden maar ook brood, vleeswaren, yoghurt en fruit. Je waant je in dit hotel echt terug in de tijd. De kamers zijn heel sober, maar mooi ingericht. De binnenplaats is ideaal om wat te drinken en te lezen.

De kamer was prima. Schoon en lekker koel door de airconditioning. Verder erg mooi, in een oud klooster en je bent binnen 15 minuten lopen in het centrum van de stad.

Dit hotelletje last minute geboekt via hotels.com vanwege acceptabele prijs en prima ligging t.o.v. het vliegveld en de stad. Bovendien een eigen parkeerplaats waar de auto netjes geparkeerd kan worden zonder bijkomende kosten. Hotel wordt gebruikt voor conferenties en is daarmee prima op orde qua netheid maar mist wat persoonlijke charme. Al met al […] een prima keuze. Lees meer

Friendly efficient welcome, peaceful setting and a quiet night, no traffic noise, no loud music. Close to the town centre and all the restaurants, bars and shops. Would stay there again.

Basic but clean and ideal for a short break. We booked v late so probably didn't have much choice in terms of rooms - ideally a bigger room (2 adults and 2 teenage girls) would have been better but couldn't complain given the cost . Breakfast was good and included in the price. Location about 20 mins walk from the Leaning Tower and other main sites

lovely hotel in lovely grounds rooms basic but very neat and tidy.food was a basic menu which wasnt too good to be honest... if the hotel concentrated on a better menu and restaurant then this would be a top notch residence.....

Basic rooms but they are clean and comfortable and we had our own bathroom. We had difficulty in finding the hotel but we rang the hotel and the guy on reception gave us directions. Picked this hotel as the pictures looked interesting - first stop for one night in Pisa before a long trip around Italy. The hotel is easy enough to find from the train station. On arrival, the staff were a bit non-plussed...and the room was like a prison cell...but being as it's an old monastery, that kinda fitted!! Lovely setting though, and in the […] evening, sitting in the garden terrace was really nice - quiet too, apart from the bell in the morning! Breakfast was adequate, and a bit of a free for all but we were pretty pleased with the place. If I ever go to Pisa again, unlikely as it is, I would go back to this hotel. :) Lees meer

It is a decent hotel for its price, the surrounding historical context is great. However there was no warm water for the entire three days, no internet availability, the TV in the room didn't work.

This is a great hotel and location outside the centre of Pisa, which is a short walk away, it's clean, rooms basic as your would expect in a monastry. The church bells ring at 8 am on Sunday! Great for a short stopover in Pisa. Staff are really helpful and the building character makes this a different hotel experience to the usual hotel.

The hotel staff were so friendly and all spoke excellent English,the hotel room has a great character and feel of old times- all pristine and tranquile; a very pleasant srprise was on site secure parking not mentioned anywhere in the description.All in all, value for money all in all. Very convenient location single number of € by taxi from airport. In walking distance from tourist attractions. I liked my breakfast buffet style and felt peaceful like a monk in my room))).

Stayed for 1 night passing through Pisa. The hotel a little bit of a walk to the city centre and attractions. The hotel is very unique and original though as a young couple we found it a bit "stuffy". Would suit older couples without children.

The only good thing about this place is the building itself... It is a beautiful and very interesting old convent.

This was an unique experience! If you like querky and different this hotel will please you. Excellent staff, very clean rooms - brilliant value for money. It was lovely to be woken up by the bells ringing in the morning but I appreciate some may not be quite so pleased. A little way from centre but if you like walking this isn't a problem (10-15 mins […] along the river), or a taxi wouldn't cost much. There is a restaurant on site with a lovely view of the courtyard. The food was very good. All in all it was a very good experience. Probably will not go back to Pisa now we have done the Tower (not alot else to see after spending 2 days there), but I would definitely recommend this hotel and if I were to go back I would stay there again without hesitation! This hotel used to be a convent and was modified to suit hotel rooms. Has a very nice court but don't expect much of your room. The rooms are very simple, so are everything there. But it is a nice hotel and the staff can be nice.

The hotel has a spectacular cloister where one can eat breakfast and an evening meal if desired. Although not in the centre of Pisa getting around presents no problems.

They have done a good job turning an old monastery into a quiet retreat. the courtyard is a great setting save the occasional jet flying over head. Liked it. note that it is clear across town to the Leaning Tower but the walk along the river is nice and if you head the other way you'll run into locals exercising and enjoying the day in a riverside  […] park. THE ROOM WAS LARGE AND CLEAN AND THE BUILDING VERY NICE AND ROMANTIC. STAFF NICE AND HELPFUL. DIDN'T HAVE BREAKFAST INCLUDED BUT WENT TO LOOK AND FOR 8 EUROS NOT WORTH. I SAW A SMALL CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST […] NOT MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM. INSTEAD WENT TO A LOCAL CAFE AND FOR 10 EUROS ME AND MY 2 KIDS HAVE THE SAME BREAKFAST. Lees meer

DO NOT stay here unless you wish to be eaten alive!!! We were bitten continuously by mosquitos, even after applying repellent. These bites were huge welts that were sore to touch, and I'm not talking 1 or 2, im talking 8 or 9 bites in one night of sleep. The staff were rather rude pressing their restaurant when asked where the nearest take away pizza […] was...which might I add the food in their restaurant tasted like a 'heat and eat'. When asked for information or even an extra pillow it seemed like a chore for the staff. Not only were we awoken at half 7 in the morning by the bell tower but we were then awoken by cleaning staff trying to enter our room at 9am to clean it, even though it clearly states that you have to exit at 11. I sadly only stayed one night which was a Saturday night.There was a wedding party which was very noisey...............as weddings do.................that stopped at about 1.30 and we were back to monesterial calm.A lovely interesting hotel in a beautiful area AND so helpful at the desk, day and night.

This cloistered building has been very nicely converted to provide fairly basic butcharming, elegant and peaceful accommodation. The breakfast operation works fine but the dinner menu is somewhat limited. The hotel is within walking distance of all Pisa's social and cultural amenities.

The hotel location is ok but it is hidden in a corner of the Pisa neighbourhood which is not easy to find. The hotel does not qualify to be a hotel but more of better backpacker stay. It is basically a really old church transforn into a "hotel".The pricing is also ridiculously high based on the condition of the room and services provided and available. […] I can basically stay at a 5 star hotel in Singapore. The walkway in the place is very difficult for guests with large luggage to move around as it has very uneven and rough flooring. The short route to the rooms is to walk across the garden but it is floored with pebbles which make it impossible to cross if you have luggages with wheels which make it really frustrating. The breakfast provided is ok though. The room looks really horrible with no renovation done. Not even a fresh coat of paint on the old cemented walls. The roof is covered with wooden planks which looks really scary. The flooring do not have tiles as well. Only the bathroom is renovated. What an exciting hotel to stay at for someone who appreciates history and architecture! We arrived late at night and were relieved to find out that the reception was open 24-7. While walking towards our little, but adequate, hotel room/cell we were astonished by how surreal it felt to be there. The building is so well-kept and beautifully refurbished […] and at night the lighting creates a theatrical setting. The room was a standard double with an en-suite but basically a monastery cell with a couple of furnitures put it and a small shower-room. But the fact that they had kept the rooms as original as possible just made it more exciting! Also, great breakfast buffet that could be eaten outside on the patio with a panoramic view of the beautiful courtyard. We rented the hotel's bikes for a day for a small token of 6EUR which was a great way to see Pisa. All in all, a wonderful hotel that we would more than happily return to again and can recommend to others. Lees meer

Very nice, quiet place to stay in Pisa, away from all the hustle and bustle of the city center. Did not hear any noise from surrounding rooms. Minor complaints-very small parking lot, although free, but does not have enough room for all the guests staying in the hotel. There is some street parking in front of the hotel, although you would have to pay […] for it during the day. We visited in April, and the room was very cold. The heat was not automatically on and we had to request the gas to be turned on so we could use the heater. They only turned it on at night and then turned it back off during the day. Located in a very quiet part of the city that did not appear to have a lot of local ammenities. A 20 min walk to the train station, 35 min walk to the Leaning Tower and 5/10 mins in a taxi from the airport. I'm a female traveller & stayed for three nights in a single room with shared bathroom, including breakfast, for 3 nights. I was quite taken aback […] by just how basic the rooms were - not much change since the days when the hotel was a monastery! However the rooms were spotless & given how little time I spent in the hotel it served it's purpose as a base. The courtyard was also a lovely place to enjoy breakfast which was buffet style with plenty of choice. The staff were also helpful. Good value for money and would stay again if I was with other people but the location was a little isolated for my liking travelling alone. Lees meer

Stayed in APR 2011. Unique experience; kinda cool to actually stay in an old monestary. Queit neighborhood, friendly staff, excellent breakfast that was included with the room. Although we didn't walk from the Train Station, you could, even with small come-alongs. It would take you between 25-30 minutes though. We picked up a taxi at the airport for […] about 7 Euro ($10) including tip. King size bed to up most of the already small room and the tv is only about 10 inches, shower is one of the smallest I've used in europe. Had to turn off the water to lather up after I turned around and hit the nozel with my body...HOT WATER!!! But, one to two nights was/is doable. Any more and you either need to see if they have larger rooms or try elsewhere. TAXI WARNING: Had the receptionist call us a taxi to take us back to the Train Station. I don't use taxis in the US and hardly anywhere for that matter but I found out that they actually start the clock (charging you) from the time you call them. The taxi showed within 3-4 minutes and the charge was already over 5 euros and we didn't even move yet. I also noticed that even at a stop, the timer still runs! I thing in the US you are charged by the 1/4 mile not time? Return trip back to the train station cost an extra 3 Euros - not much but just the point on how they charge you. Lees meer

We had a very pleasant short stay. The hotel was comfortable and clean and the staff were friendly. Although the early bells were a little annoying it did ensure we were up and out early! We would recommend this hotel.
