Room Mate Alicia in Madrid

Room was small with very little natural light so felt a bit claustrophobic. Only used the room to sleep so not a problem as location was great.

Although a really cute hotel, it was hot. The heat was on and could not be turned off. The temp outside was 60 F and inside about 75 or 80F. The high intensity lamps in the room made it worse. We had to open the window to keep comfortable and then it was just so terribly noisly all night long reaching a fever pitch at about 4 AM. I booked this hotel based on other rave reviews that it had received - about it being a designer, hip place. Unfortunately I was very disappointed - it is just a simply a 3-star with knock down type furniture, and many falling apart. The room is basically poorly designed, and there's no proper place to hang/place your stuff. The hotel has only 1 reception […] who always seems to be busy so we had to wait to be served. They also could not provide an adapter for us to use our equipment, considering that they provide free wifi they should be serving the IT savvy crowd. The location is ok as it is near the Santa Ana square, but there are many other hotels around many other squares in Madrid. Basically for the amount that I paid, it was just not worth it! Lees meer

Location was excellent and enjoyed our stay because the design elements in the rooms were different--modern and attractive. Also breakfast restaurant next store was reasonable and had a nice selection of foods including fresh fruit.

The hotel was great - until a bad odor of sewer drains started to permeate the room while we were trying to fall asleep. Tried to ignore it but it got worse and worse. Fortunately after my boyfriend went downstairs to complain they gave us another room to sleep in that didnt stink, but it was unsettling to say the least.

The location was perfect for one wishing to see the Museums in the vicinity. Most important of all it was very accessabile for a handicapped person like myself.

Do not hesitate to book this hotel. From the ideal location to the overall quality of the room, everything was perfect. Great hotel to serve as a homebase to explore the heart of Madrid.

The hotel staff was very professional. The room was very modern, clean, and nice. The smaller format worked well for us, but could be problematic for some travelers.

Great location, fair price, trendy style, and very nice, helpful staff = top value; you won't find a better place in Madrid!

This hotel is in an excellent location and is central to all the sights. It is located on the corner of Plaza Santa Anna with some wonderful restaurants and bars closeby. We spent an ejoyable 3 days there in May 2010, and would recommend this hotel to anyone who likes city centre hotels.

We stayed in the Room Mate Alicia for two nights and we were totally happy with our experience. It is located in a charming historical section of Madrid, replete with narrow cobblestone streets, picturesque plazas, and cafes and tapas bars. The staff spoke English and they were very friendly and helpful, the best staff of all the places we stayed. The breakfast that was included was decent though not amazing. The first night we had a double. It was very clean with a lovely view of the narrow street and the quaint plaza in front of it. There are mechanical shades which block out the light and noise if it bothers you, though I didn't find it to be noisy at night. The bathroom is very modern with the sink in a sort of alcove in the room and a glass shower stall that juts into the room (you can't see through the glass). We thought it was cool once we got used to it. The next night they upgraded us to a junior suite for no additional cost and this was one of the loveliest rooms I've stayed in. Alicia is a great design hotel in a prime location. The staff was very accommodating and the overall environment in the hotel was lovely. We would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again the next time we are in Madrid.

Had stayed at several four and five star hotels while touring Spain and Morocco, so was a bit concerned to be staying at a three star hotel. The hotel was fabulous and exceeded my expectations. I loved the location, being in the heart of activity was great. The hotel itself, was outstanding. The breakfast included was by far the best of all the others we experienced. The staff was as accommodating as could be. The price was more than fare for what we experienced. Every aspect of the hotel seemed new. While you may pay a little more here than […] a hotel on the outskirts, the money you save on taxies more than make up the difference. Also wi-fi included free, better channel selection than most, and new flat screens in room. Lots of restaurants, bars and shopping right there. Vi bodde i ett standardrum m utsikt mot St Ana torget - perfekt läge med gångavstånd till allt. Bra frukost och prisvärd. Inget att klaga på - gick ej att öppna fönstren utan man får ha airconditioning på. Å andra sidan var ljudnivån på torget så hög att det ej gått att sova m ed öppna fönster. Buena relación calidad precio. Sólo un par de notas que podrían mejorarse: las cortinas de la habitación son dobles y funcionan con botón automático, aunque algo […] lento. El desayuno se toma en un anexo situado en la planta baja, pero sin acceso directo desde el hotel (hay que salir a la calle -un inconveniente en invierno- aunque la puerta está justo al lado de la del hotel). De modo geral,adorei o hotel e com certeza me hospedaria novamente! A localização é perfeita e o atendimento de todos que compõem o hotel é impecável. São todos simpáticos, solícitos, atenciosos, bem informados e sempre prontos para ajudar. Só faço uma ressalva com relação aos colchões e travesseiros, que realmente deixaram a desejar.

Perfect location,friendly staff, nice room. All in all a very nice hotel for the stay in Madrid !

Esta muy bien ubicado, con muy buen servicio y atencion de los empledos.

El hotel cuenta con excelente ubicación, queda cerca de todo y de la estación del metro por lo que se hace muy fácil moverse y desplazarse en la ciudad. El servicio es bueno, las personas son cordiales. Muy buen hotel

Vi havde 4 overnatninger der fungerde helt perfekt. Meget imødekommende bejening & hjælpsomhed fra receptionen. Ingen problemer med Engelsk tale overhovedet. Her er stille & roligt. Hotellet ligger super godt placeret & meget centralt i Madrid. Meget lækker morgenbord på restaurant i samme bygning. Kan kun anbefales.

Hotellet er nyrestaureret og i en fin stand. God morgenmad og service. Hotellet har et ungdommeligt og frisindet præg, bla. skal man være opmærksom på at bad og håndvask befinder sig i et åbent miljø på værelset.
