La Quinta Inn & Suites Islip-MacArthur Airport in Bohemia

hotel was a long drive from Brooklyn and we could have stayed near where we were but we have stayed here last year and even tought is a longer drive in and out of Brooklyn is worth the drive to this hotel, very comfortable and always great service here, next time we travel to NY we will stay here again.

No shuttle after 9pm!

This Hotel is good if you need to stay near the airport. There is nothing special about it or anything too bad. If you have kids with you they have a breakfast in the AM that would save you some bucks at the diner. If you go to the Tower Diner on the corner near the hotel you won't be disappointed. I am elated to have found a nice, clean, high standard hotel where I can take my dog. Everything was great from check in to check out. Extremely clean and a friendly, no bother staff. Im definately going to stay again, and have already told friends about it.

The property was clean, well maintained, and the room comfortable. The staff was very nice and the continental breakfast was of good quality and variety. I would stay here again without any hestitation.

This worked out just great for us - no problem with small dog ... a little musky smell in room when first arrived but turning down air seemed to knock that out so all in all , would definitely return - staff friendly and accomodating ... let us bring our bikes to the room too!

After checking out the possibilities in the area, we chose the La Quinta based on reviews and the price. Since it was going to be just for one night, I would have been happy with just a clean room and a comfortable bed. I'm happy to say that we received much more than that. The room and bed were just as I wanted, and the hotel itself was spotless. The […] staff was extremely accomodating. The gentleman that checked us in, tracked us down before we brought our luggage to the room assigned to us, after he discovered there was a problem with the room phone before we even got there. Later that evening, around midnight, my friends and I were sitting in the lobby, and one of the front desk staff offered to make us coffee! The breakfast was good too, and was replenished often. I HAVE STAYED THERE BEFORE AND THE HOTEL IS JUST PERFECT .MEETS ALL MY NEEDS

Our room was in a funny location, next to the elevator, room 314. The air conditioning was at the foot of our bed rather than to the left or right by the window. The hotel is conveniently located and well maintained. We are returning guests to this hotel and again were not disappointed. It's nice having the complimentary breakfast included.

We went to Islip for a wedding and La Quinta was in he center of the church and reception area. Hotel staff was very friendly and accomadating. Had two full beds and they changed us to a King. Whirlpool was amazing - perfect way to relax!

Our stay was short but satisfactory. No major complaints. Bed was very comfortable. Furnishings could use some updating, but room was clean. Only problem was a recliner which wouldn't recline.

It is roomy and comfortale.

Just minutes from the Long Island Airport and the Ronkonkoma train station. Was the ideal location for me to stay during a recent business trip. The hotel provided a free shuttle from the airport and to the train station. The property is clean, quiet and comfortable all leading to a good night's sleep after a long day of meetings and travel. NIce hotel. Very big rooms. Well-equipped (iron / coffee machine / hair dryer) Conveniently located near airport. Good breakfast. Only problem : our room was obviously not non-smoker, and we had not been advised of that (strong smell in the room);

Nice hotel with very nice people. I would stay here again.

All in all not a terrible experience...My wife is handicapped & when she made the reservations she requested 2 queen size beds. When we got to the hotel we were told that the hotel does not have queen size beds only doubles. We should have been told at the time the reservations were made.

I stayed at this hotel three times in a row within a month. It is clean, good breakfast options and good service I recommend this hotel

Not a good stay ! Rooms weren't ready. Staff not very helpful. Also rooms were not especially clean,especially bathrooms. Would not stay there again.

when we arrived for check in at 1:15 PM we were told that only one of our rooms was ready and our second non smoking room would be saved for us on the same floor as close to the first room as possible. We started that we would not be back until after supper and were told not to worry. When we came back around 8 PM we were told that no room had been […] saved for us and only one room was available in the entire hotel on the 2nd floor. We went to the room and the entire hallway smelled of cigarette smoke as did the room assigned to us which was not a designated non smoking room. We complained and were told nothing could be done for us. I gave back the keys and took the registration form back and we all spent the night in one room as we had no choice at that point. The girl at the check in was rather nasty and insisted that she could not help us even though she did register other guests after I had returned the keys. I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights at the end of May/beginning of June with my Husband, Daughter and Grandson. We had a large room which was very clean and comfortable. A few things you should know about staying here, first the positive.....Very nice, very clean, very courteous staff, very fair rates. I stayed in a king "suite" and it was very satisfactory. The "suite" however is really only about 4 feet "longer" than a standard room at the Holiday Inn. I peaked my head in to an empty standard room and it did look […] a little bit small. Everything in my room worked perfectly, very nice flatscreen TV, huge computer desk/work station, comfortable chair, tons of outlets for devices. Here's the bad.....As you might have read in other reviews the floors of the rooms are very squeaky/creeky and thin, which makes for very squeaky/creeky cielings. With someone staying above me you can literally hear every footstep, which after a while can become quite annoying, especially when trying to sleep. I am not a light sleeper but was woken up more than several times due to the cieling noise. If you have the option I strongly recommend staying on the 4th floor so there is nobody above you. Another issuse I had was the elevator bell volume. My room was about 6 doors down from the elevator and I heard every single time the elevator reached my floor, and not subtley I might add. It might not seem like a big deal, but trust me it gets very annoying after a bit. The only other downfall is the location. Other than a 24-hour diner on the corner there is not much in the way of food selection around the area, especially for the late night snack. At a later hour in the evening the only thing you will find is a few gas stations who don't even allow you to venture inside the building. However in regards to location of the airport it is literally across the street. Lastly don't be fooled by the description stating there is a pool. While there is one it is actually about the size of 3 bathtubs put together. For one person I suppose it would be relaxing, however extremely akward if another person (not of your party) decides to join you. I would definitely reco Lees meer

Overall not bad for the price with one giant issue - noise. The walls and ceilings are very thin and you can hear everything that happens around you. Sat night was pretty bad with a lot a loud young people in the hotel. We had to change rooms at 2am b/c there was a party going on above us. The staff was very nice and understanding, but they could not […] get guests quiet. And, you can hear every step of the people in the room above you - ask for the top floor if you stay there. Wow, maybe I got lucky and was given a huge room. But I would reccommend this place to anyone. I travel a lot and I might start staying at this brand more often.
