This was the worst experience of our hotel life. The room was SMELLY we had to check out early because it was disgusting.The pool was green with moss.

this hotel is definitely worth the price. Yes, it is an older hotel but that means you get a bigger room than the standard, newer hotels. Sure, it could use an upgrade, but i wasn't concerned about the wallpaper! The room was clean and nice and big. The beds were a little hard for our liking but not terrible. The breakfast is okay (bagels, pastries […] and donuts) but the fact that it was included was impressive. The room had a mini fridge as well! Overall, a great value. Lees meer

If you are on a budget and want a hotel that is about 30 min from NYC, would like a continental breakfast and a working pool..this is the hotel for you. My wife and I stayed in a double room with our two children (2 & 4) for two nights and it was perfect. There is a kids village (indoor playground) and large nice supermarket right across the street. […] It was not seedy and seemed to have allot of long term business stays. Merck pharmaceuticals is right up the road. It is clearly an older hotel but was not seedy. It has more character than a days inn but you could tell it was once quite nice. had a non-smoking room, but the hotel was a smoking pit, smelled horribly. the ice maker tray was moldy, the front desk was understaffed and uninformative, gave wrong information, or just didn't know what we were talking about. free breakfast was doughnuts and bagels, pool was open from 9-9, so kids had to play quickly, after our day out, it was clean […] however, seemed ok.... the place is old and run down, and needs updating real bad, paint, tiles, carpets, all in disrepair. They had a bar that we didnt utilize, and it seems they have a meeting room as well, that we didn't utilize.... they had vending machines with a wide choice of items, including bath and medicines if needed.... a stay up late grocery store across the alley was convenient, free wi-fi had to be reset 3 times, but they had free printing in lobby :) thanks, we needed that! would not visit again, sorry Lees meer

Hotel is nice, clean and decent. Spacious rooms. Convenient location. Breakfast is good. Now to minuses. Almost always there is a party in their banquet hall. Coz of that, there is no parking available if you arrive late in the night. Party hall is far away from rooms though. Although the party guests are mostly quiet, you can hear once in a while someone […] talking loud. Air conditioner sounds like a jumbo jet. Rooms wise, they are ok for now. Great people always smiling and go out of there way to make you happy.The older waitress during breakfast was fantasic .Pool is wonderful

We found the staff to be very helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the donuts for breakfast.

It was so hot in my place lights went outs in buliding. So i decided to check in a hotel for the night not knowing when PSE&G will fix the problem. The stay was great.

Great hotel. The service at the front desk was good. The breakfast must be to improve to compare to other hotels which serves the same service. No internet WIFI from three days, it was too bad, I paid $21 interest to my bank, because i didn't pay my invoice on time?!.

Property could definitely use some updating but our room was very large, comfortable and clean They were hosting a wedding the evening we arrived, but we were never bothered with any noise. The continental breakfast was just OK but the staff was very helpful with some questions and directions we needed.

The service was truly fine -- responsive and polite. However, the quality of the hotel was terrible. The whole hotel smelled like smoke throughout and the rooms were truly low grade. I couldn't wait to get out of there. Everything felt itchy and old and unclean. The service is what made it bearable.

Wonderful hotel just off exit 138 of the garden state parkway.The accomodations met my expectations and appropriated equiped with microwave and fridge. The staff was friendly and very helpful. A great value! Downside was that location provided limited dining options.

Quite happy with this property. Furnishings a bit dated but very clean and staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The dear lady at breakfast was a gem and the front desk folks always had the answer to what ever question we asked! Will return for sure!

I had reserved a non smoking room but the room I received definetly had been smoked in. Not good.

the only issue I have is that the bathroom curtain was dirty when we arrived and it was changed fro the second night.

Well situated with close proximity to Garden State Parkway, and next door to the supermarket. However, in need of better maintenance - feels poorly kept. Common areas smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Rooms are big - maybe all the dark carpet and low lighting gives an unclean impression.

A nice well-maintained hotel, convenient location near main roads in that area of NJ (Newark airport, my cousins' home). Traveling as a single female, I want safe and comfortable - Kenilworth Inn provided that. And a nice plus - around the corner from a Safeway store!

Our room was a little dated. Several outlets didn't work, and the lack of an elevator made getting our suitcases upstairs more work. The staff was very helpful and friendly, however. My husband went to breakfast in the morning and was there within the time frame listed, but most of the food was gone and it was not located where we were told, so he interrupted […] a meeting and had to hunt to where it had been moved. This hotel worked out well for my husband and I. It was very convenient to the nearby towns we were visiting. The rates were excellent and the room was comfortable, spacious, and most important, clean. It was not fancy, not up to date but the service at the front desk was excellent as was housekeeping. Although the service at this hotel was very good it hardly could be called a 'boutique hotel.' It may be a step or two above a holiday inn. Parking was difficult since many local functions, i.e. weddings, reunions, etc. are held here. The Kenilworth Hotel is ok. It's a place to sleep if you are in the NY/NJ area. The hotel itself is extremely outdated in every aspect from the toilet seats to the bar. The rooms are relatively clean but but need to be upgraded. The bedspreads match the wallpaper trim and the decor is ancient. There are some nice restaurants in the area and it helps […] that there is an A&P across the street. I stayed there a total of 6 days and each day, every day, I had to go to the front desk to have my room key activated. The staff is polite but very old fashioned, from their uniforms to their customer service skills. As I said, it's a place to sleep but not a hotel to relax and rejuvenate. Lees meer

The bathroom needs renovation. The toilet seat was loose and the sink drain was not draining properly. This was reported and was not taken care of. I have stayed at the hotel an other occasions and was surprised.

I booked the hotel on Hotel.com and was still billed through the hotel. The bath room was dirty and not much better in the second room they move me to. The best thing about the place was the bar, the bartender made good drinks other then that you should look some where else.

Close to airport, near by great restaurants and dinner, much nicer then staying at the airport.

Oh my god, I did the selection of this hotel for my kids and myself for chrismas time. Pictures of this hotels have nothing to do with reality. It is smelling like hell, dirty, noisy because of the airconditions from the 1950. Everything is more than oldfashion. I have stayed here several times in the past 18 months when visiting family in NJ. The property is in need of some updating (carpet, bath fixtures), however, rooms are always clean and the beds are comfortable. The hotel was perfect for attending a function at Seton Hall University. It was clean, comfortable and very convenient for us to access the Garden State Parkway.

NIce comfortable hotel with spacious rooms. Breakfast host Isabella was a sweetheart. Stayed for 24 days while working in New York. Once you figure out the route it was about a 25 minute drive to midtown through Holland tunnel. easy to get bto off freeway and nicec restarunts whithin a few miles of hotel.

The front desk staff was exceptionally friendly. They let us check in early and sent us right up to our room, offering free complimentary breakfast even though we had not stayed a night yet. Everything was splendid! The two double bed room was nice even for four of us. It was about 20 minutes from Newark Penn Station, which took us into NYC. Great deal! […] I would use this hotel again. The room was comfy and pretty pleasant. Could have used some updating. Many channels available on TV - a rarity for a hotel room. Location couldn't be beat! Right off the Garden State Parkway. Many restaurants within 1 mile. An A&P, complete with a Satrbucks and bank inside were right next door. Pool was great.

The rooms were good. The employees were nice. The hallway smelled of cigarettes. The pool was dirty and slimy, but swimmable. The breakfast was good. I would stay there again. A good value for the price.

Although the hotel is a little rough-around-the-edges, it is a very good deal for the money. The hotel was clean and I liked the friendly staff. It was fun hanging in the lounge (the bartender was great) and meeting the other guest. As a female traveling alone, I felt very safe here and will come again!

Everyone we came into contact with was cheerful, pleasant and always asked if there was anything they could do for us. The room was always attended to in a timely manner, and was immaculate.
