We hadden een kamer met uitzicht op de tropische tuin, prachtig. Kamer van alle gemakken voorzien. Wel veel problemen gehad bij het inchecken: men vroeg om onze creditcard als borg voor eventuele uitgaven die wij tijdens ons verblijf zouden maken. Onze card werkte echter niet en dat werd als een (abnormaal) groot probleem gezien; ondanks dat wij aanboden om tot 500 dollar cash te 'betalen'; men wilde ons zelfs in 1e instantie als gast weigeren, terwijl het hotel natuurlijk al via hotels.com betaald was. Zeer onaangenaam en men ging pas meewerken nadat we erg hebben opgespeeld; uiteindelijk 100 dollar borg betaald. Geen leuk begin van een verder overigens prima verblijf daar.

Prima locatie om van daaruit San Diego te ontdekken. Naar o.a. de Zoo, het Balbaopark en ophaaladres van huurauto gebracht en opgehaald met shuttledienst van het hotel, ideaal. Schone kamer, van alle gemakken voorzien. Redelijk ontbijt met plastic bordjes en bestek.

Heerlijk hotel, niet ver van Sea World, San Diego Zoo, uss Midway, Gaslamp, Old Town en het strand. Allemaal binnen acceptabele tijd per auto te bereiken. Super mooi hotel met ruime kamers. Het is wel een gehorig hotel, wat vooral in het weekend lawaai met zich mee bracht van buren. Door de weeks was de marine aan de overkant van het water met trainingen bezig. Dit vonden wij niet heel storend, maar het geluid is er wel. Verder zit ontbijt er niet bij in en is heel duur als je dat nog bij wilt nemen. Dat is echt een minpunt. Als je dit hotel boekt, hou er rekening mee dat het twee locaties zijn. Wij zaten in de tower en het 'grotere gebeuren' was verder op. We hadden wel een lobby, servicebalie, restaurant en verwarmd zwembad, dus dat is prima voor elkaar. De starbucks en de grote lobby van de foto's zit in het andere gedeelte. De kamers zijn echt super ruim! We hadden een ruim zitgedeelte en eettafel erbij, en dat voor een gewone kamer. Uitzicht op zee was erg mooi.

Het hotel ligt midden in het uitgaansgebied; veel restaurants in de omgeving en ook de winkelstraat is om de hoek. De bediening is gastvrij en zeer vriendelijk. Het ontbijt is echter simpel, maar dat schijnt in Amerika normaal te zijn. Kortom: als je op zoek bent naar een centraal gelegen hotel met alle gewenste voorzieningen in de buurt en ruime kamers, dan ben je bij Gaslamp Plaza suites op het juiste adres!

East San Diego strekt zich uit tot in de heuvels van de ruige Santa Rosa Mountains. El Cajon, La Mesa en Lemon Grove zijn de satellietsteden. Dit gebied heeft één van de grootste stadsparken van de natie: het Mission Trails Regional Park. Je kunt hier varen en het park heeft meer dan 70 kilometer wandelpaden. Tot de bezienswaardigheden behoort een historische dam die water irrigeerde naar de Mission San Diego de Alcalá.

We were pleased with the beds, the cleanliness overall (though as we were packing to go my daughter found an old tater-tot under her bed), the adequacy of hot water for 2 consecutive showers, and the desk help (very friendly). What I would prefer is a location not on the main road (loud traffic noise - a big truck going by even set off my car alarm […] in the hotel parking lot) and something other than carbs (sweet rolls, orange juice, and regular coffee but no decaf) for the breakfast. "Very clean with basic anemities"
Everything was very clean and seemed to have been redone recently! There are no frivolous amenties or excessive amounts of soap, shampoo, etc. Just remember to ask for a coffee pot, coffee & cream/sugar, if you need it. Also ask for a hairdryer or clock if you need one. The staff was great! It is evident that they are trying to keep costs down, but […] they do not want you to go without any item they can get for you. The breakfast that is offered is adequate. Not as much as other places where we have stayed. The hotel was very convenient to where we had a small job in SanDiego. There is nothing like coming back to a clean room with clean white sheets on the bed after a bad day on the job. "Small rooms, extra charges"
We stayed an extra night and had two additional charges on my card - one of which I'll have to fight. The rooms are very small and next to a very busy road. Staff was nice.
"The Rodeway Inn, Santee--a true bargain"
We have stayed at this property several times, due initially to its proximity to our daughter's home. In addition to that basic convenience, I am impressed by its cleanliness, the professional attitude of staff, nearness to excellent restaurantsand shopping, and its very reasonable rates.

Except for very noisy water pipes at 5 in the morning and people being very loud at the pool, it was an o.k. hotel for the price.
Only tip is to bring a hair dryer, there wasn't one in the room. Other than that, it fit my needs for one night.
The only problem was that the beds were harder than the floor. This place could really soften up the mattresses some and make them a little longer. They were to short for someone over 5'6".
The hotel room was clean. There were no frills like alarm clock or blow dryer. For being in San Diego in the summer and the hotels relative closeness to it the price was right.

Not bad for reservations made the same day. I like the location. It was near where I had to be the next morning. The motel and furnishings are a bit on the old side, but not bad for the price paid. Convenient access to most major fast food restaurants.

We came down to Santee from Orange County for my niece's wedding, so did not spend much time on the property. However, we did find the room to be clean and comfortable, and the staff to be friendly and helpful. We asked for 2 additional pillows and they were brought up within 10 minutes. Our only complaints would be that the bed was really hard and […] they used a strong fragrant deodorizer that actually made me cough when we first walked into the room. "Not worth the stay"
VERY SMALL rooms. Old hotel, the room smelled bad, also was very muggy and hot in the room. Not worth the money. Also the continental breakfast was a joke. Do not expect to save money on eating breakfast here. "roadway inn santee"
room was clean and updated. refreigerator and microwave but no coffee pot. Although they did serve coffee in lobby in the mornings. no elevator for 2nd floor and wifi did not work
"near Santee Lakes"
We chose to stay here for one night because it was near Santee Lakes. If you just need a place to sleep, they it's okay. But it smelled of cigarette smoke in the room and beds despite that we were in a non-smoking room. The main road is noisy. We wouldn't stay there again. Instead, we would choose something closer to Hwy 15 and just drive to the lake […] early in the morning. Or camp at the lake. "More Than I Expected!"
Rodeway Inn was more than I expected. The room was very clean with updated furniture, a heat sensor controlled ac/heater (so I didn't have to keep adjusting it through the night), and even soap and shampoo! For a 2 star hotel, I was very impressed! I would definitely stay there again!

Our room at Rodeway Inn was nice, clean, and simple. It's all we expected since we just needed a place to sleep after being at the casino (about 20 minutes away) rather than spending 150+ at the casino's hotel. I would book another night at the Rodeway in if all I need is a place to sleep. We didn't explore the area much, but the hotel is right off […] of a main street with easy access to highways as well as stores and some fast food places up and down the street. PS- they only supply you with hand soap and shampoo, so don't forget your other personal hygiene products from home! (Also an FYI- the toilet paper was super cheap and left behind trails.) Lees meer

Fit our needs perfectly. If you are looking for a clean comfortable bed and a hot shower this is the place for you. Functional not fancy.

For the budget minded, this is exactly what one should expect. The room decor was a little out of date and somewhat worn, but clean and functional. The pool was well maintained and clean as well. Overall a bargain at half the price of the Hilton chain.

When we did our search we searched Gas Lamp and this hotel came up not sure why because it was so far away. But if your looking for a affordable place for some rest it is perfect!

Found no problems with the motel. It's a great price if only need room for a place to sleep in. Pool was clean. Very friendly staff. Only complaint I have is that you are charged $5 extra a day if you want the mini refrigerator unit included. That's kind of annoying seeing how it's not advertised as an extra cost (not that I saw).
