Prachtig hotel, buiten centrum gelegen, maar heel goed openbaar vervoer (tram, metro) in de buurt. Wij zijn een paar keer van en naar het centrum gelopen, ook goed te doen als je een beetje van lopen houdt. Verder rustige buurt met restaurantjes en supermarkt tegenover hotel. Hotel was heel goed verzorgd en vriendelijk personeel. Enig minpuntje was dat we twee ochtenden geen warm water hadden. Dit werd wel iedere keer snel opgelost. Kortom, een aanrader!

Dit hotel heeft ruime kamers met goede bedden. Het ontbijtbuffet is uitgebreid en goed verzorgd. 's Avonds doet de ontbijtzaal dienst als een modern pizza restaurant. Ons werd daar ook een welkomstdrankje aangeboden. De ligging van het hotel is gunstig voor slot Schönbrunn, maar wel wat ver van de stad. Services is verder matig; we hebben 3 keer een klacht ingediend over slecht weglopende afvoer, maar daar is niets mee gedaan. Verder een comfortabel hotel dat een goed alternatief is voor de dure hotels in het centrum.

Hoewel ik eerst skeptisch was over de locatie (ik kwam aan op sudtirolerplatz en zag één grote parkeerplaats/station), bleek dat het een prima locatie bleek te zijn. Je bent slechts twee metrostations verwijderd van Karlsplatz, waardoor je binnen 5-10 minuten in het centrum bent. Het pension zelf was erg netjes en de voorzieningen waren goed geregeld (schoon en goede wifi). De gastvrouw is erg aardig, maar haar Engels is soms minder goed dan ze doet voorkomen: Hoewel ze ja knikt, begrijpt ze soms niet wat je zegt. Dit heeft echter niet tot al te grote problemen geleid. Verder was het erg rustig, dus ik heb ook prima van de nachtrust kunnen genieten. Zeker een aanrader om te overnachten dus!

Wij zijn in Donauwalzer geweest en vinden het een goed hotel. Heel vriendelijk personeel. Goed ontbijt en zeer schone kamers. We hebben er met volle teugen genoten. Dit hotel is meer waard dan de 3* die het is. Ook de ligging is gunstig. Tegenover het hotel is een metro waarmee je zo naar alle bezienswaardigheden kan reizen. Maar als je van een leuke wandeling houd zit je ook met 20 tot 30 minuten lopen in het centrum van Wenen.
Ligging.
Mercure Josefshof Wien ligt in het centrum van Wenen, op loopafstand van Theater in der Josefstadt, Stadhuis van Wenen en Oostenrijks parlementsgebouw. In de buurt bevinden zich ook Natuurhistorisch museum en Burgtheater.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
Dit hotel in Wenen biedt diverse eetgelegenheden, zoals een koffietentje/café en een bar/lounge. In openbare ruimtes is een draadloze snelle internetverbinding gratis beschikbaar, terwijl de accommodatie over een werkstation beschikt. Dit hotel met met 4 sterren beschikt over zakelijke voorzieningen waaronder een vergader-/conferentieruimte en audiovisuele apparatuur. Het personeel kan op verzoek een conciërgeservice, hulp bij excursies/tickets en evenementencatering regelen. Extra voorzieningen in deze accommodatie in art-decostijl zijn onder andere meertalig personeel, een cadeaushop of kiosk en een wasserij. Parkeerruimte is tegen betaling beschikbaar, maar beperkt. Elke accommodatie beschikt over een bureau, een kluisje op de kamer en een telefoon met directe buitenlijn met voicemail. Een draadloze snelle internetverbinding is gratis beschikbaar. Alle bedden hebben een Select Comfort-matras met een donzen dekbed en luxe beddengoed. Een kussenkeuzemenu is beschikbaar. Elke badkamer is voorzien van bad of douche, make-up-/scheerspiegels en een haardroger. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een gratis krant en openslaande ramen. Goed hotel, vriendelijke mensen achter de balie, dicht bij het centrum. De kamers zijn zeer ruim en schoon. een aanrader.

Prima hotel. Goede ligging. Kamer was netjes, maar grootste minpunt was het klimaat. Het was op de kamer bloedheet, en het was niet te regelen. Zeer goed ontbijt. Uiteindelijk cijfer 7,5.
Enjoyed it very much. Especially the comfy bed and large tub. I brought some maps with me from the Internet but, they were not too helpful. Coming from the airport, Take the CAT to the city station. Get on the number U3 subway and take it to the U2, go to Rathaus Station and you are just a hundred yards away.

"A comfortable, mildly pretigious location"
Clean, classic, chic. A good hotel for our last two nights in Europe. Convenient to the U-Bahn, the English Theater, the Volkstheater, decent Greek and Viennese restos and two classic cafes--the Raimund and the Eiles. Also a Billa market. . We could have used a CD player and coffee maker in our room, which was well decorated and ultra modern in its […] plumbing and lighting details. An excellent Macintosh computer was available in the lobby. Service was polite and quite competent. "Excellent location"
This hotel is well priced and extremely well located for everything - sight seeing, shopping trains etc. Also has super helpful and friendly staff and comfortable rooms.
"Very good except for....."
Everything very good except for the WiFi and the cost of the breakfast. On the third floor the internet connection it was very patchy and the cost of the breakfast was exorbitant. A professional and well run hotel in a very central location.

The hotel is fairly small and old. Though it has some basic facilities, and the breakfast is ok (though expensive) it really should not have a four star mark. Maybe the luxury rooms are something special, but the basic single and double is not. There is a nice cafe close by though, cafe provinz, and it is relatively close to the university. Excellent hotel, especially for the location. All the main sites are within walking distance and the underground station is round the corner. Although we were very pleased with our room, we would say this was more a 3star hotel rather than a 4 star by British standard. Still, it was excellent value for money.

Very nice quite hotel in a very conveniently situated close to the main turist atractions of the city. However we did find that the breakfast was excessively expensive , asit was over double the price of a similar breakfast in surrounding cafes. The bottle of water supplied in the room was four time the price of an identical bottle in the local super […] market.. Being from England the one item missing from the room ,was the lack of tea making fascitites, only coffee.Which we do not drink. The hotel is situated very close to all the main attractions in Vienna. With walking distance to Rathaus, StaatsOpera, Stephansplatz through the Hofburg streets, and also close to shopping at Mariahilferstrassse, this hotel is worth a try. Two subway stations lies also close, and it's easy to move around Vienna with the sub. In the narrow alley, the […] noise from the streets are also less. The hotel is near the museum quarter. Affordable price but nothing fantastic. My room was small but had a queen bed, patio, and two night stands. Would recommend.

"only a good location"
we stayed in the hotel for a week during the new year. when we checked in the hotel was overbooked and we were told we would be staying in the adjoining apartments next door. breakfast was very expensive so we ate out in the city. I don't know how the actual rooms look since we never saw them, however the apartment was large, clean but a surprise and […] slight inconvenience of the toilet being separated from the actual bathroom at the front of the hotel. we prefer small intimate rooms and were unable to watch tv and fall asleep in bed since the tv was located in the living room with cold worn leather sofa. however, the shower was large, towels were always stocked and shampoo and bathwash and soaps always stocked as well. the location was near the new year entertainment and some of the sites however a good 20min walk to anything else or more. when we arrived in the room we asked the clerk who had accompanied us some questions regarding breakfast and the stay and she just kept saying to ask reception. I felt it a little rude. anytime we spoke with reception we both felt the desk clerk would rather be doing something else and had a small issue with the taxi that we were waiting for. other than that the stay was pleasant and the city is big and gorgeous. "Glad we stayed there"
Convenient for the Rathaus U-bahn, making it easy to get to all parts of the Inner Stadt. We decided to upgrade to a privilege room, and are glad that we did. It was the best sleep we had on this trip. Wonderful location on a quiet side street.

The hotel was an excellent choice near Rathaus U Bahn station and quite at night. Plenty of places to eat and drink and also walking distance to all the top attractions.
"Vienna Hotel near Christmas Market"
This hotel was located very close to the main Christmas market in Vienna. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. There were some good restaurants in the neighbourhood and there were 2 underground locations in very short walking distance. "not worth 4 stars"
The hotel is somewhat convenient, but the staff is not helpful and some were just rude. When asked where we could find the closest Catholic church, the guy at the desk sent us off in the absolute wrong direction, same thing with breakfast. We asked where we could find a simple breakfast (not wanting to pay the 15 Euros they want) he said there was nothing […] open, only to find a charming cafe around the corner with good coffee and friendly wait staff. "Terrible service and WiFi non existent"
WiFi is terrible at hotel. Had three encounters with staff who said nothing was wrong, but then admitted the contrary and said there was nothing the could do. Sent a bottle of red wine to room to apologise but still didn't fix problem. We stayed in a premier room. Pillows rather uncomfortable.

My wife and I stayed at this Hotel for three nights in late October 2011. The Deluxe room was very clean and well maintained. The shower was full size (unusual for Europe). The location is ideal - only 3 blocks from the Rathaus and Parlament. All key inside the "Ring" sites are within comfortable walking distance. Also, the #2 Tram stop is just around […] the corner and convenient. While newly remodeled, the hotel has some charm (does not feel like a business hotel), is in a quiet location, and super convenient. Much better than another hotel we stayed in at a different time in Vienna. I highly recommend this Hotel. Lees meer

- I think this hotel is not well maintained, the furnitures (eg wood desk, chair) looks very old. The wooden floor also looks old and there were some scratches. I also saw some stains at the corner of the shower. -location was quite good, near to the underground station - The shampoo and shower gel were not replenished after house keeping! The hotel is situated close to underground making it easy to get around. Nice parks, a short walk to lots of attractions and shopping. No in room tea facilities and internet access ok but not the best.

"Very convenient location and wonderful staff"
This hotel is just a few minutes walk from the Rathaus tube stop and just a 10 minute walk from the museums or 15 minutes from the city centre so the location is brilliant. The rooms were as you would expect, clean and well furnished but a little hot. The buffet breakfast seemed dear at 15 euros and there are plenty of nearby places to get a much cheaper […] meal so I wouldn't bother with this. The staff at the hotel were wonderful, very polite and extremely helpful. Pros: Hotel was clean, well priced, conveniently located and generally comfortable. Room service was affordable and grocery stores were near by to pick up little snacks and beverages. Cons: there was quite a variance in the oral English capabilities of the staff so some individuals came off as quite rude.

The bed was VERY comfortable. The bathroom was gorgeous and exceptionally clean. The door to the bathroom was a Klimpt image--stunning! I loved the espresso machine in the room and air conditioner as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was close to all the sights without being in the tourist crush zone. Will recommend this hotel […] to anyone travelling to Vienna, and will stay here again! I think for the price it would be nice if breakfast was included, we opted to go elsewhere for breakfast because of this, but other than that I loved this place. Lees meer

Stayed for 4 nights. Hotel location is ideal for sightseeing near tube station and the centre of town is walkable. Room was clean and of average size. Staff were polite and friendly. Didn't realise until we arrrived that there was no dining available - have stayed in many Accor hotels and would not have expected this from their Mercure brand, after […] a full days sightseeing itssometimes nice to eat in - but there are some nice restaurants in the vacinity. "You feel that it's 4 stars"
I usually stay in 3-stars hotels. This time I was able to catch this hotel on a sale and it really felt different. Very nice and everything was of good quality. The service was very responsive, I just didn't like the thing about the breakfast when you are told where to sit. Nevertheless we had great experience. It's about 5 minutes walk from the ring, […] City hall and Parliament. I would recommend this hotel to everybody. Lees meer
We enjoyed our stay here. Convenient to walk to all of the central sites- about 15 minute walk to the very center. The hotel is very comfortable, but they do have a lot of extra charges- extra for breakfast, extra for internet, etc.

"Mercure Wien"
Very pleasant staff in a clean, warm and comfortabl hotel. Excellent location near the U Bahn, Town Hall, Parliament etc. Could do with tea/coffee making facilities in the room!

We were very pleased with this hotel. Good price, quiet street and convenient to places we wanted to go. We would stay there again.
