Great Parnassus Resort and Spa All Inclusive in Cancún

The check in process was horrible. Waited for hours to have a room for us to find out ones of the same type had been available long before. Not happy with the service and the elevators are ridiculously slow and not enough of them for the size of the place to accomodate everyone. Many times the elevator was full or would skip your floor.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Great Parnassus. All of the staff were outstanding. This is a great place for families. Food Court was outstanding for kids and adults as there was always fresh food and variety for all tastes. We would definetely go back!

Overall, the stay was ok. We did ask at check in to get upgraded to an oceanfront room, which we did get an amazing upgrade for $60.00 per day. The amazing view was the highlight of our room. The staff was very nice. The hotel lacked amenities. Our room did not have a refrigerator. We did love the 24 hour room service. No bottled water is provided. […] That is standard in Cancun though. The food was just ok. We were looking forward to the variety of restaurants, but the food was not great. We went off site several days for food and activities. The pool and ocean are beautiful. We did get some poolside service, but tips were definately expected. The poolside is fun, but very loud with a lot of activities. We had kids, 8/11, so they enjoyed it. This hotel has plenty of pluses and a few negatives. Great for families, with a three tiered pool in the back & water park in the front; also private adult pool in the front is nice and quite. There is always something for the kids to do including baby, kids, and teen club open daily 9-10pm; our kids liked it so much they never wanted to leave. We had a family room with bunk bed & trundle pull out for kids with separate king bed (beds comfy but sheets did not fit); all rooms have nice deck with ocean view, bathroom & TV's could be updated, no mini fridge, but lots of storage & space. You don't need to save chairs with towels (plenty to go around), you also don't have to make restaurant reservations either but you might have to wait for a table so go early. Worst thing about this hotel is the lack of air conditioning in the main buffet; food is not good including the restaurants but first time in Mexico that none of us got sick. Creperie had awesome ice cream & waffles opens at 4pm. Gym equipment is just ok but nice spa. Nightly shows at 9pm are cheesy but Michael Jackson show was good. Karaoke Bar is fun. Make sure to visit sister hotel (Grand Paranassus) only a mile north; more upscale, better food & a good cup of coffee. My kids want to come back here every year they had such a blast, I would like to see rooms updated, mini fridge, air conditioning in buffet and better tasting food in restaurants. Lees meer

I have been to this hotel since it opened and it looks like every other new hotel that opens great at first then down hill very sad to see we had a lot of great trips there, but will consider other resorts next trip to Cancun.

Hotel was nice. Not awesome but certainly nice. Beach was great, pools were very nice. Unfortunate that the kids pool was on the opposite side of the hotel than the beach, but it worked out fine. Kids club was OK. We've been to Cancun hotels where the kids club was more inviting instead of being in a basement, but the staff was very friendly and there […] were a variety of activities. We chose to use it less than other Cancun hotels we'd been to but the kids pool with the pirate ship and little water slides and stuff were very fun for our 5 & 7 year old girls. The buffet food at this hotel was great. Lot's of ethnic variety and good quality, too. The restaurants on the other hand were not so good. For example, my "Gentlemans Cut" prime rib at the Big Ben was 1/4" thick. Tempura at the Japanees restaurant was like a limp noodle with greasy breading and the Teppanyaki Beef was similar to a thinly sliced piece of rubber. The Italian restaurant was a little better, but still not great. We kept thinking the restaurants would get better so for the first several nights we tried a new one till we just gave up and only ate meals at the buffet. The buffet was very good food and if you don't HAVE to be waited on, stay with the buffet. After reading so many neg reviews before leaving and almost regretting booking at the GP i wanted to review for the wary: Magnus - was great. Produce was FRESH/excellent. Room: The AC went out the 4th night we were there. I ignored it for a day. The second night I asked and they told me it was being fixed. the third night i demanded a different room. We started in 510 and they moved us to 225. After being on both sides of the building, i preferred the ODD side. There was no noise from HVAC and there was a breeze from the ocean, but had the AC not went out I was fine with the 1st room. Kids Club: My son loved it and the caregivers are professional. Baby Club: We used this during nap time and dinner time so we did not have to bring my 19 month old with. Beach - rough but my kids loved it I did tip often but i did not notice a difference in service when i didn't tip. THe staff is super friendly, work hard. The authentic Mexican, both at the buffet and the Mexican restaurant, was top notch and the Oriental restaurant and stir-fry buffet selections were also really good. It's important to note that there's also 24 hour room service, which we used pretty much exclusively to order 4 bottles of water and 4 beers while the kids were napping. The hotel was really nice and the food was great. In our room however, they had a flat queen sheet on a king size bed so every night we would end up on the mattress because it wouldn't stay on the bed and the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. We had a hard time getting towels and wash clothes too.

Service is not good, we have to request the towels for our room. the hotel does't provide everyday room clean. Food in the buffet is OK, but not as good as we expected. the restraunt service is terrible. Fruits are very fresh. There is no WIFI in the lobby, we purchased the WIFI and it didn't work well, you will not get the signal most of the time.

Nice hotel for the price! This hotel seems perfect for families with kids since there is lots of things for kids to do. We stayed there with some friends and no kids and we still enjoyed our stay. This was our fourth time staying at this resort. It was wonderful five years ago but each time it got worse. This year we changed resorts because of service, no AC, and rock hard bed. The food had gone down a lot. We were very disappointed that we wasted vacation days here.

You definitely get what you pay for which isn't necessarily a bad thing ---- The food at the buffet (breakfast/lunch) wasn't very good but the restaurants in the evening for the most part were average to good. I have a family of 6, so we stayed at the family suite room. The room included a King-size bed, and a tri-level bunk bed for the kids, which was separated from us by a partition. However, the AC in the hotel DID NOT WORK. The coldest that I was able to get the room was 75 F, and the rest of the hotel was even hotter. That was in the cooler month (end […] of October), so I can't even imagine how hot it is there in August. All of the staff expected to be tipped, constantly. If you forgot to tip at least one person once, you instantly noticed that the level of service dropped critically. Even if you tip, that stil doesn't guarantee service. We had to wait for almost 2 hours for our dinner on at least two occasions. STAY AWAY from that hotel. Even though, it is cheaper, it is better to pay a couple of extra bucks for a nice vacation. All common areas are not climate controlled, making your dinning experiences hot and muggy. Service was good and the staff is friendy. Food is average. The buffet was well stocked, and the restaurants were decent for an all-inclusive. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was entertainment for our kids at the pool all day and at night. We were allowed to use the hotel's buffet for lunch after checked out, because we had a late afternoon flight.

Elevators horrible I was on the 5th floor and I had to take steps down most of the time because elevators were full most of the time. House keeper forgot towels I called twice asking for towels! They forgot to clean my room once!
