My stay was good and positive.I Wasnt looking for perfection.everything was as espected.but the hotel is old and needs updated and remodle.I like the location the most.Everything i wanted was in walking distance.

PROS- NICE location, beautiful beach, easy access to boardwalk, free parking, secure building, great pool/hot tub open until 10 PM, kitchen was convenient, amazing views in oceanfront rooms, friendly staff and tenants; CONS- There is only one bed (king size). (There is also a pullout bed in the couch in the living room but it is not very comfortable […] and wouldn't recommend sleeping on it for more than a few nights. The couch itself is much more comfortable than the pullout bed), There isn't any breakfast, Our room's plumbing had a water leak and we had to move rooms (I understand problems happen, but I think the hotel should have done something special for the trouble of moving or at least could have offered to help us move our stuff up two floors), no balconies in rooms, parking is a little confusing to figure out at first. I stayed here for six nights in May 2013 with my wife and her mother. Overall, we had a good stay but the hotel did have a few quirks. The hotel is a little dated but has been well taken care of. We would definitely stay here again despite the small problems we encountered. The beach and the views outweigh any cons! Lees meer

The close location to the beach is great. - also not too far from airport. Like the atmosphere of the boardwalk. Our room had a few issues with one shower that locked hot water; luckily there is a second shower. Beach towels that were supposed to be there first day were not, but were brought promptly by staff.

It was a very spacious room and very clean...great location. But the morning staff was very slow in checking rooms for early check in. We arrived to the hotel at 10am and our room wasnt ready til 3:15pm. I have never had no later than noon check inns at previous hotels. So Sunday we checked out and we meet the Manager and we told her about our late […] check inn and she was very sorry and she said that she will take care of us the next visit to the hotel. Good as usual however the room was not ready at check-in time (this is the second time in a row) and they have a very early check out time (where your key becomes disabled at precisely 10am). Great to be right on the beach and the rooms are huge!

The staff at the front desk really tried to accomodate your needs. First impression was not good, since our room was not ready at 3pm. I think it was 4pm before we got it. The rooms need to be updated. Great location, pool and ocean view. Thanks for your service. Mr. and Mrs. W

I love Hollywood Beach. It is a low key gem that sits between Miami & Ft Lauderdale. The pool overlooking the beach was a lot of fun to use. The BBQ was handy. We only had two issues, The first was easily taken care of. I had already read this in other reviews so I was not surprised to find the pull out mattress to be unacceptable, but we called the […] front desk & they immediately sent maintenance up with a cushion mattress to go on top of the pull out making it very comfortable. If this occurs to you, do not hesitate to call. They are happy to help. The other was a minor inconvenience. The wifi stopped working the one night and the night shift was unable to fix it so we needed to wait until morning. Great value for the money. i was very pleasantly surprised with this find. even though the hotel is old and need of updating it was very clean and thats important to me. The room was very spacious. Great location on the beach and broadwalk with nice restaurants and bars. I will come back for sure.

There were rats walking inside the wall. We could not sleep for the fear that something might fall on our heads. Absolutely disgusting.

This was a wonderful bargain in a great location. Our 2 room suite, with 2 bathrooms, free garage parking and a kitchen was terrific. Nice pool and hot tub also. Ignoring the 1960's Formica decor was easy since everything was very clean. We faced the ocean from the 7th floor and it was a delight to wake up to full sun. The suite was very spacious and clean although it needed updating. There were no hotel services which I was not aware of when I booked through Hotels.com. With a name like Hotel.com, I erroneously assumed that any placed booked though the company would be a hotel. This was not. Hotel location was good, lot's of restaurants, heated pool with jacuzzi was nice. However the pool being only 3 foot 6 inches was very shallow & more like a kiddie pool. Price was right & when we complainved about pull out bed being uncomfortable, they provided a mattress to put on top which fixed the problem. No activities by pool side even though […] signs specified a luau on Wednesdays. Shower pressure was really low & toilet would not flush after a number 2. Internet was really really slow on the 8th floor & made work very difficult. Other than that, it was well a decent stay & we have returned 3 years in a row since other hotels are alwyas sold out. We only stayed one night, but overall very pleased. Although in need of some updating, it was clean and staff is very nice. The rooms are Very large and the kitchen is well stocked. I would stay here again becasue it is a perfect location to the beach and boardwalk. Very nice area to stay and family friendly.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. A couple of things that were discouraging; the bed was horrible and the smell of the garbage chute sometimes got into the ac vent and it was all you could smell. Rugs in hallways were stained, and windows do not open. Even a small window to circulate air would have helped a lot. The pool was beautiful and everything […] else was well maintained. The hospitality at the front desk was superb as was the housecleaning service during our stay. The towels were big and fluffy and changed mid week. They also gave us beach towels for our stay and changed them. Cookies in the afternoon in the lobby-laundry facility on the premises and a caring staff. This is an older hotel with an incredible location on the beach and boardwalk. There are several restaurants within walking distance with a cost of $8-$20 per meal. Biking rentals are awesome,$5-$30. The pool and hot tub is fantastic! There is one grocery within walking distance. My only real complaint would have to be the man who came in defending his wife after the receptionist had called his wife names.When the man complained the receptionist said to the man"blah,blah,I'm not hearing you,blah,blah" FYI Towels are only exchanged Wed,do it yourself for $1washer,$2dryer any other day. Don't loose wrist bands or charged $5each, Don't loose towels or charge, don't loose key cards or charge $20each. Very safe area. On the boardwalk there are many ppl, everywhere. Our personal experience was great even with the neg's mentioned. The price for staying anywhere else on the boardwalk made this the perfect hotel for us.It was also quiet, great for the family, and for older couples with children or grandchildren. If you are ok with not having daily maid service, the place is great! You can't beat the location and having 2 rooms with 2 full baths and the kitchen is just great! Everything was clean when we arrived, we had plenty of towels. This unit seemed a bit more "run down" than the one we had last year, but it was still fine.

It is a very nice place to stay. Furniture is dated. The room included 2 baths, dining area, refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, sink, dishes. There was no maid service- which I liked as I enjoy little naps in the daytime. I also enjoy being "green". The staff was nice. The hotel is right next to the Broadwalk and the beach, which is a great location. […] There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, little stores, and a farmers market on Sunday. These are timeshares with an amazing view. My wife and I are both in our late twenties with no children. We had a king bed with an oceanview room. The room could have easily slept 4 (6 with a blowup mattress) as there were 2 large rooms. One room was the bedroom (very large) with its own full bathroom. The other large room included the kitchenette, […] living room, and dining area. This room also had its own full bathroom. The resort also has two gated parking garages which are included in the price of the room, this was a major bonus. There is a brick walkpath between the hotel and beach that is always bustling with people. This seemed to be a very safe area. Thought this was a hotel...it is an old timeshare that needs renovation, located in the residential part of Hollywood, carpets need replacing, hallways are dark and old, front desk personnel are not happy or helpful, only limited linens and towels, sofa bed was not able to be used d/t springs coming through mattress...Pool area is nice and Timeshare […] is located right on beach in quiet location, free parking, cheap room rate...definitely get ocean view room!! You couldn't get a better view. All works but one were very rude and not helpful at all. They cleaned the pool daily. The location was perfect. I would not return because they didn't try to make my stay the best / customer friendly.

Looks very outdated, furniture, cabinets, kitchen appliances, carpet. Had vinyl chairs in the bedroom. Linen were clean but also looked overused. Closets were quite pathetic. The room key cards did not work for 2 out of 3 days I was there and I had to have an escort to my room to open the door. I'm not sure you get the value for the money.

I recently attended a conference down the road and they listed this hotel as an option to stay which I can't believe. It is in dire need of updating/bring torn down and rebuilt. Disgusting carpet and musty smell. Like being in a cheap spring break hotel in another country. Great location right on the beach.

Location was amazing to just walk across the boardwalk to the beach, and there was easy access to restaurants a random organic fruit market. When we checked in we where informed that the pool would not be opened due to a maintnence problem. The hotel was under renovation and the room I booked above the 8th floor was not available so we would be on the 1st floor right above the renovations. I told them that that was ucacceptable and needed to be moved they said they would try and get back […] to me later that night never heard from them. There wi-fi system rarely works if you needed to get on the computer you have to go to the star bucks down the street.The beach was also not opened in front of the hotel for 2 days because they were moving in sand. I would of thought that someone would of adviced us of all these problems befor we got to florida. The hotel itself needs lots of updates but its tolerable if they did not have all the other issues. I will not be staying at this hotel again because I feel they should have notified there incoming guest of all the problems they were having or at least tried to compensate for them. The hotel's location was great, BUT it is very dated, the hide a bed is non sleep able. They are renovating and for warn you but the times on the notice sheet are way out to lunch(they put 10:00am more like 8:00 am). HBT is a property that is awiting great things to happen. The location is fantastic and our oceanview room allowed us to open our room door and have a crisp clear view of the Atlantic Ocean. From the front door of the resort, we were steps away from the Beach and Broadwalk. As the notes indicate, the property has begun renovations, however, even still, […] the rooms were large and clean. The kitchen was fully functional and you truly have a warm feel about it. Whether for a weekend, week, or longer stay, HBT has been the perfect choice. Most of all, the STAFF was a key component to our stay. Everyone works hard to make your stay pefect. not a good area, however it is right on beach. room was old and neither of us wanted to even sit on couch. tub wouldn’t drain and no hot water in 1 bath. never got fixed either. staff was great but hotel sucked for the price. wouldn’t stay again regardless of price

When we booked this hotel we were not aware that it was or is turning in to a timeshare type resort. Rules for our stay were not hotel rules, but more like timeshare rules. EX: Need clean towels before Wednesday the laundry room is in the garage and each load costs a $1. Staff was friendly and knowledgable though.......only reason we would not stay […] again is because of the timeshare resort thing. We like straight up hotels and maid service. Pool area was nice, signs stated they had opened a new bar called HBT but never did see it open. If you like the timeshare thing then I would recommend this hotel for location, etc. Lees meer

Needs serious updating. Mid-century furnishings. Tiny kitchen but lots of other room in unit. Nice pool. Friendly staff. Paper-thin walls. Right on beach. Don't get unit on 2nd floor, all you see is the roof. Good value for the price.
