We hadden een kamer met uitzicht op de tropische tuin, prachtig. Kamer van alle gemakken voorzien. Wel veel problemen gehad bij het inchecken: men vroeg om onze creditcard als borg voor eventuele uitgaven die wij tijdens ons verblijf zouden maken. Onze card werkte echter niet en dat werd als een (abnormaal) groot probleem gezien; ondanks dat wij aanboden om tot 500 dollar cash te 'betalen'; men wilde ons zelfs in 1e instantie als gast weigeren, terwijl het hotel natuurlijk al via hotels.com betaald was. Zeer onaangenaam en men ging pas meewerken nadat we erg hebben opgespeeld; uiteindelijk 100 dollar borg betaald. Geen leuk begin van een verder overigens prima verblijf daar.

Prima locatie om van daaruit San Diego te ontdekken. Naar o.a. de Zoo, het Balbaopark en ophaaladres van huurauto gebracht en opgehaald met shuttledienst van het hotel, ideaal. Schone kamer, van alle gemakken voorzien. Redelijk ontbijt met plastic bordjes en bestek.

Heerlijk hotel, niet ver van Sea World, San Diego Zoo, uss Midway, Gaslamp, Old Town en het strand. Allemaal binnen acceptabele tijd per auto te bereiken. Super mooi hotel met ruime kamers. Het is wel een gehorig hotel, wat vooral in het weekend lawaai met zich mee bracht van buren. Door de weeks was de marine aan de overkant van het water met trainingen bezig. Dit vonden wij niet heel storend, maar het geluid is er wel. Verder zit ontbijt er niet bij in en is heel duur als je dat nog bij wilt nemen. Dat is echt een minpunt. Als je dit hotel boekt, hou er rekening mee dat het twee locaties zijn. Wij zaten in de tower en het 'grotere gebeuren' was verder op. We hadden wel een lobby, servicebalie, restaurant en verwarmd zwembad, dus dat is prima voor elkaar. De starbucks en de grote lobby van de foto's zit in het andere gedeelte. De kamers zijn echt super ruim! We hadden een ruim zitgedeelte en eettafel erbij, en dat voor een gewone kamer. Uitzicht op zee was erg mooi.

Het hotel ligt midden in het uitgaansgebied; veel restaurants in de omgeving en ook de winkelstraat is om de hoek. De bediening is gastvrij en zeer vriendelijk. Het ontbijt is echter simpel, maar dat schijnt in Amerika normaal te zijn. Kortom: als je op zoek bent naar een centraal gelegen hotel met alle gewenste voorzieningen in de buurt en ruime kamers, dan ben je bij Gaslamp Plaza suites op het juiste adres!
Ligging.
Comfort Inn & Suites Chula Vista ligt in South Bay in Chula Vista, dicht bij Silver Strand State Beach. Bezienswaardigheden in de omgeving zijn onder andere Petco Park en San Diego Convention Center.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
Comfort Inn & Suites Chula Vista heeft een buitenzwembad en een fitnesscentrum. Een draadloze internetverbinding is gratis beschikbaar in openbare ruimtes. Zakelijke voorzieningen zijn onder andere een businesscentrum en vergaderruimtes. Gasten krijgen gratis ontbijt. The hotel itself was average. The desk staff were very polite & courteous. Our only complaint was housekeeping, or lack thereof. We left our room at 10:45 am and returned at 9:30 pm. We had removed the "do not disturb" sign when we left so the maid would clean our room and provide fresh towels, coffee, etc. We were surprised when we returned to discover […] our room had not been attended to. I had to go to the front desk and was told houskeeping said we had the "do not disturb" sign posted. I explained we removed it when we had left, but apparently housekeeping at this particular Comfort Inn only makes one pass thru. At my request, the clerk gave me some clean towels. We have stayed at many hotels and NEVER experienced this lack of service. So sorry, no more Comfort Inns for us. Lees meer

"Cruising"
The hotel was located right off of I5 that took us right to the Carnival cruise line port. Very friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Good value for the money.

There was a warm and friendly atmoshere to the hotel. The room was comfortable and clean (although the cleaning products they use had a strong odor) The gym consisted of 4 machines, enough to do a little workout. Breakfast was nice. "Good Value in Chula Vista"
Comfort Inn deserves its high ratings. Outstanding is the fitness room on the 4th floor with big windows giving a view to mountains, dawn and sunset. Only 4 machines, but well adjusted and easy to use. My wife complained about mechanical noises at night, but I slept as if hypnotized.

The management at this hotel is outstanding and I dont know that I've ever felt more welcome to a hotel than I was at this one. The room was good, comfortable, no complaints. The breakfast was a decent variety, nothing special but had the basics of what most people can eat. We enjoy our stay.

We stay at this hotel every year because we have realatives in the area. The price is reasonable for the quality. We don't walk around the neighborhood or leave the hotel except by car.

Hotel was very convieniant location to I5 freeway. To be honest the neighborhood wasn't the greatest but the Hotle was kept very clean and the staff was very nice and helpful, rooms were very clean with a nice size refridge and small microwave. The hotel itself was in great condition and the room was very clean and comfortable. However, the neighborhood in which it was located was a bit questionable. It wasn't as "safe" feeling as in other locations. In the end, it was a perfectly fine stay.

Honestly, i thought this hotel was going to be a motel status..Boy was i wrong!! hotel was great, staff very friendly and the food was awesome (waffles, eggs, yogurt everything!!! We stayed for one night only and checked in really late. The room was nice, plenty of towels, bed was great, very clean! We were a large group and the hotel was quiet, clean, friendly staff and breakfast was ready on time. I recommend this hotel compared to others in the neighborhood.
"Pretty decent hotel for the price"
The area surrounding the Comfort Inn in Chula Vista was not terrible, yet not a great location. We heard a fair amount of truck traffic, although that's the trade-off for being 3 blocks from the interstate. The staff at the hotel were very nice. They made the hotel more like a small town place, not the huge high efficiency mega-hotel type. The breakfast […] was better than at many places, with Belgian waffles, eggs, sausage, bagels, fruit, and plenty of juices. Only one elevator means waiting sometimes. The stairs are on the ends of the hotel and the elevator in the center. I took the stairs once and nearly choked on the smoke smell in the stair well. They were obviously used by the smokers who didn't want to brave the outdoors in the cool weather. As with any heater/air conditioner with the thermostat located on the unit, the temperature regulation in the room was very poor. We generally got up in the middle of the night to turn it on or off, depending on the state we left it in when we went to bed. Noise level from the heater was better than at most hotels. Due to the traffic noise outside of the window, the heater noise was soothing and tended to wash out the outside noise. The bed was pretty hard and didn't provide a great night's sleep. Our daughter used the sofa sleeper and didn't like it very much. This was by far our biggest complaint for this hotel. Overall this was a reasonably nice stay. When factoring in the price it was a real bargain. We would consider this hotel again, although I would prefer to find a place with softer beds. Lees meer
"Good price without sacraficing comfort"
Have stayed at many hotels in San Diego and it's almost always a compromise of either paying big bucks for a nice place or going cheap and getting poor quality. This Comfort Inn is the exception ... although the price was in the moderate range, it was still a good deal. Accommodating staff and clean and comfortable room.

We were cautious since we were paying a lower price and we knew the area wasn't the greatest but we were on a tight budget and just visiting the beach with the kids. There were several cheezey Motel 6 likes around but when we pulled into the Comfort we were shocked. Its enclosed so no safety issues.
