JW Marriott Hotel Grand Rapids in Grand Rapids

The room was clean and very comfortable. View of the river was awesome. This hotel was within walking distance of some awesome restaurants, pubs, museums, etc., and there were many covered walkways, so you didn't even have to go outside for the most part!

Great stay! Hotel was not filled and we ended up getting upgraded to the 19th floor, with a corner view! Convenient location, highly recommend!

Wonderful hotel, friendly staff!

We had booked a deluxe room requesting a King Size bed. We arrived and were told that there were no more king beds available. Then we got into our room and we were given the handicap room, with a standard bathtub and a huge handicap set in it. Not the seperate walk in shower/ tub that is listed as standard in every room. After asking if there were any […] normal rooms available we were then moved into a King Bed room with normal bathroom, which was great. I am not sure why we were not given the room we requested initially, but we were very dissappointed with the service. The hot tub was also broken, as was our ice machine on our floor. Seemed to not be our luck with our stay. The location in convenient to downtown, but with no gaurantee that you will get the room you requested, not sure if it is worth the additional money spent, especially if you were looking for a relaxing time away and were looking to utilize the amenities offered. I had pretty hight expectations for the JW, and it didn't disappoint. Great service, great amenities, and right where you want to be in Grand Rapids. I'd definitely stay again.

We purchased tickets to see a country artist perform at Van Andal Arena downtown Grand Rapids. We booked a room at the JW Marriot for two adults and our teen daughter and her friend. On arrival, check in and valet parking were a breeze. Our room had a veiw of the water at an additional cost. Well worth it! The Grand River was so beautiful as we stood […] and pointed out where Nesse the Loc Ness monster was located during the first ever Art Prize. The girls took off to swim in the pool while my husband and I stayed and relaxed in the room with our wine in hand. When the girls returned we freshened up and headed to dinner at the hotel restaurant where we dined on delectable home grown vegetables and meat from the local farms. The food was delicious and the service was very good. We were told about a sky walk with walk ways to get to Van Andal Arena. We were able to walk about 10 or 15 minutes under cover so we would't have to deal with the snow and ice on tne streets. After the concert we took the sky walk back to the hotel and ordered late night room service. Home made guacomole and chips, and root beer floats for all! In the morning we slept in until 10:00 and ordered room service for breakfast. The breakfast was very good too. We just relaxed and talked of our nice getaway in Grand Rapids. It's rare that I would give every category of a hotel the maximum amt. of points, or stars that are available. However, in this case that is exactly what is warranted. We have been to Grand Rapids many times, but never stayed at the new J.W. Marriott. We had heard good things, and as it was my husband's birthday I decided to splurge a bit, but not really […] dramatically more than some of the hotels we have stayed at downtown. It was truly worth the expenditure: the staff was great, we loved using the walkway to get where we wanted to at night, and we had a beautiful room that was a joy to come back to. We bought the pkg. with breakfast each day, and Henry at the omelette bar made my morning each day. We also loved what they did with the small space for the bathroom - in fact we'd like to do something similar in our own home. So, thumbs up to J.W. Marriott, we would recommend this to anyone! WHILE THE HOTEL WAS CLEAN AND VERY LOVELY, WE WERE NOT SATISFIED AS I HAD SPECFICALLY REQUESTED A ROOM FOR THREE ADULTS WITH "TWO DOUBLE OR QUEEN BEDS" WE GOT A ROOM WITH ONE KING BED. WE ASKED FOR A DIFFERENT ROOM BUT WERE TOLD THAT THERE WERE NO OTHER ROOMS AVAILABLE. THEY DID BRING US SOME EXTRA BEDDING, BUT MY SISTER HAD TO SLEEP ON A CHAISE LOUNGE […] AND WAS NOT AT ALL COMFORTABLE. I RATHER DOUBT I WOULD USE THIS HOTEL AGAIN. Lees meer

When visiting Grand Rapids, this is the only hotel I would suggest staying at. It is a bit more money than some other hotels but the experience of staying at the JW Marriott is worth it. The service is wonderful, the rooms are beautiful, the bath robes are a very special touch, and, although this may be something small, the elevators are amazing. Regardless […] of what floor I may be on in the hotel, I never wait for more than a few seconds for an elevator. Most everything you would want to see or do in Grand Rapids is literally a few minutes walk away from the hotel. From the museums, to the restaurants to the night clubs. Our intention for the weekend was to just "get away". JW Marriott provided the perfect spot. We upgraded to the concierges level to take advantage of the 24 hour access to continental breakfast in the morning, hors d'oeuvres and drinks at dinner time and snacks and beverages round the clock. Helpful and courteous staff willing to go the extra mile.

Great modern feel, excellent location in the city & great view of the river.

There's a reason JW Marriott's are rated so highly. They're that good. Customer service was outstanding. The room as very modern and welcoming. Having a separate shower and bathtub was especially convenient. And the little touches were very noticeable. For example -- each side of the king-sized bed had a built-in goose-neck reading light. And the remote […] for the TV came in it's own leather case. The food in the Six One Six room (lobby level) was delicious both times we ate there (breakfast and lunch). This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at a JW Marriott. Both times we had a great experience with good service, clean stylish rooms, and excellent food. I would recommend it for a classy getaway.

This is my favorite Hotel in Grand Rapids. They are professional and courteous. The rooms are very comfortable and views of the city / river are memorable. If they can they are able, they are great about accommodating your need to check out a little late or early. They keep the rooms extremely clean even picking up at turn down. I stayed there overnight for a conference hotel stay. It was truly an outstanding hotel, by far the nicest I've ever stayed in. Room was fantastic, the ambiance was incredible, I wish I would've had more to explore the pool/workout facilities. I will certainly be back again.

I am well traveled, and the Grand Rapids JW is as nice of a hotel I've stayed in. The resturant, "616" is spectacular. Sit at the bar around the kitchen, or a table looking over the river. Views over the river and of the city are great from all floors. All spaces and details are wonderfully designed.

This Hotel is everything it claims to be. Even the air in the hotel is fresh with a hint of eucalyptus. I would say this is one of the nicest hotels in Michigan. The hotel is very new. Top quality fitness facility. My wife and I shared a massage (me) / facial mani-pedicure (her) at the spa, and they had us share a room. We paid for the river view room […] with breakfast included at six-one-six. I highly recommend this, as the food quality and variety was excellent. Everything was fresh and could be custom made to order. The river veiw faces west for beautiful sunsets, and the rooms are floor to ceiling windows. The hotel was in a great location, the 616 breakfast is a tasty bargain and the fitness center has 24 hour access which was great

The cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. I loved that they have real HD tv's and tv stations in the rooms. Plus they have convenient access to all the tv inputs so you could bring your own blue ray player, computer or video game system. That is a definite plus, the hotel is super convenient to everything awesome GR has to offer.

The hotel was nicely decorated and the rooms were larger than I expected. The bathroom was lovely. Nice bedding and very clean rooms and public spaces. In and out privilege parking structure is across the skywalk from the hotel at $16 per day. The whole downtown is within walking distance.

The hotel was nicely located on the river, with modern set up, clean room and extremely friendly service. Will come back again.

Perfect for coming back after a night out at any of the surrounding restaurants or venues. One of the nicest hotels I've stayed at in this country.

The hotel was great. Watch out for the $16 per day charge to park your car in the garage. That was the only hidden cost.

I stayed with my daughter for a girls weekend. She is 8. She walked in and was amazed by the room. She said "I could get used to living like this". The room was large enough for toys and for her to play without feeling too crowded. It also had a great deep bath tub that she loved. The pool was really nice. We had a blast!

Location perfect! Staff amazing! Clean! Steam room made it for me! Kids loved the pool so did mom and dad! The room was a little smaller than I expected but nicely decorated and clean. I definitely recommend the hotel for vacationing or business.

My wife and I spent our 1 year anniversary in a waterview room. We were extremely happy with our room. I would recommend the J.W. Marriot to friends. The service was excellent, with friendly employees. Our only complaint was other people in the hallway making noise late into the night, which resulted in very little sleep.
