Hotel Astor in Wuppertal

Hotel was not difficult to find. Navigation tried to send us through an dead-end street though so beware for that. You can park temporarily in front of the hotel to unload your luggage and check into your room. Room itself was adequate. Nothing fancy and it looks a bit outdated. The room was clean. Very soft pillows provided. Bathroom is very small, […] you cannot fit two people in the shower. :) Parking in parkinggarage across the street. No climate controll, but the windows can open. Breakfast was good, had fresh bread and buns and a lot of different meat, cheese and other toppings. Also saw english breakfast for the ones who like it. We would stay in this hotel again if we would go to wuppertal again. Breakfast price did increase in comparison tot earlier reviews, we payed six euro fifty per person per day for breakfast. Excellent buffet breakfast with a wide selection frm eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, meats, cheeses, yogurts,etc., etc. Excellent location by the main train/ Schwebebahn station in downtown Elberfeld, but still very quiet. Very good for the price.

From the train platform to the hotel is less than a 10 minute walk. Our room (5th floor) overlooked the train station but we couldn't hear a thing even with the window open! It's an old hotel but well maintained and very quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They included a free local transportation pass for the duration of our stay - 4 nights. […] We didn't use the breakfast service but others told us it was very good and worth the price. My stay at the Hotel Astor was pleasant. The hotel faces the skyrail station, so there can be crowds in the area into the evening, and it is located next to many shops and a large mall. My room was on an upper floor on the opposite side, so i had a nice view of the city and did not hear so much outside noise. Clean room and friendly, very helpful staff. Big comprehensive breakfast buffet for 5,50 € - better than in most larger hotels. Got a free 2 day card for public transportation for the entire network, including Schwebebahn. Location is in the heart of the shopping area in the inner city. Would go there again any time.

This hotel was a rescue when the Medica fair coincided with my research trip. Sure the price was put up a bit here too, but considering the quality and location not as bad as elsewhere. Convenient connections, good shopping possibilities and excellent breakfast buffet despite being billed separately.

Certainly one of the best places to stay for business or tourism. They give you a free pass o the terrific suspended public transit system Right down the long ramp from the train station and near all shopping. Also near the art museum, which has some lovely holdings.

Ein gutes Hotel für kurze Übernachtungen, waren dort 2 Nächte, dafür mehr als Top! Das Personal war sehr nett, Frühstück war Abwechslungsreich, vielfältig und wurde immer wieder aufgefüllt. Treppen sind zwar steil, aber man kann sie auch noch mit einem Koffer bewältigen. Gerne wieder!

Stadthotel in idealer City-Lage am Bahnhof. Zimmer war in Ordnung aber recht spartanisch eingerichtet. Keine richtige Wohlfühl-Atmosphäre. Winziges Bad. Gehobenes 2 Sterne - Niveau.

Da wir mit dem Zug angereist sind, war für uns die Lage direkt am Bahnhof optimal. Das Personal war super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Bei dem Frühstückspreis haben wir mit einem sehr einfachen Frühstück gerechnet. Aber es war weitaus besser als erwartet. Jederzeit wieder.

Super Lage, wenige Minuten zum Hauptbahnhof und gerade vis-a-vis von der Schwebebahn. Das Einzelzimmer hatte eine gute Grösse und war sauber, das Bad war klein, aber auch sehr sauber. Ein grosses Plus ist, dass man während des Aufenthalts gratis Schwebebahn fahren kann! Das WLAN im Zimmer war auch super praktisch. Einziger Negativpunkt war, dass die […] Fenster nicht sehr dicht waren, so wachte ich in der Nacht wegen Lärm von Draussen auf. (War an einem Wochenende da). Das Personal war aber sehr zuvorkommend, ich konnte nicht das Zimmer wechseln, weil das Hotel voll war, dafür kam ich aber am nächsten Morgen gratis in den Genussd des super leckeren Frühstücksbuffets!
